  1. Disappointing

I really hope my subs work when I get them hooked up I dont want to deal with emailing and trying to send them back.

I dont thimk u need to worry about your subs working when u get them... Fi makes an awsome product... getting a hold of them is a different story though

mind you I did finally get a phone call from Scott and things are getting resolved...I hope

  2. I need soft parts not a complete kit... I am rebuilding first generation audiobahn immortal subs(rebuilt using 12 spoke baskets and Fi recone parts) ... they work awsome but are tired and need to be reconed... my buddy does 154 and change on a TL with the 2 10's in a trunk car :) with the new recones and changes we're hoping to get it to bust 155dB

  4. wow this is terrible... over a week and I have only had one email returned. I understrand the company being busy , but this is on the verge or rediculous. I wish I still had a direct number and get things underway much faster... I feel like a pest having to complain on here about this... but what choice do I have??? looks like i have to find an alternate source for recones... I dont have time to wait 2 weeks for email replies before I even place an order.

thanks guys for helping me in the past. if u wish to keep my business please leave a number or call me ... I left my number in the first emai

btw..I needed my parts to arrive today... at this time not even an order has been placed... because my email questions have not been answered

  5. thanks for noticing me :) I havent seen anything in my inbox as of yet.. I can check my mail anywhere so I have been doing so..trying to be patient but I do need parts and chances of having them before this saturday coming are next to none...

it takes a good 5 days to get to Toronto Ontario ...plus you guys need time to put the order together...

    patiently waiting

  6. What's the fastest way to get a hold of Scott aka FiCarAudio? I used to have the number but looks like it's been changed.

Scott if u see this, please shoot me an email or a number I can call you at.

    Peter@electro-pro.ca

    Thank you

  7. what 15" sub do you have to get a 154 in a trunk?

Most Likely A BTL If It's A Fi Sub.

    thanks guys ...

and sorry to disappoint you but its an original RE MT from 2003 this is in street C setup 2 optima 31 series 2 runs positive 2 runs negative 1/0 welding cable run on 4 American Bass 500.1's done just over 155 but couldnt hold the sub together at a show to prove it. plus had voltage problems....what would have made you guess that eh? lol... it was done in a 1995 dodge neon 2 door alot of bondo and fesin used to make the box smooth on the inside and outside... im guessing if I had the car and spent another few bucks may have been able to get into the 155.5-156 range... I can easily say I spent a few hundred hours sanding and testing on this car and box.... it was able to hit 149.9dB with just a single crossfire 1000d dropped to 0.35 ohm before rise

sorry to drag the reply... :) i miss my neon

  8. his 12 looks a bit different than the one that was just brought into my place...I need an 18" DVC 2 ( original coil config is quad 1.5) recone its the older one with the 6 spoke basket? done one of those before? i dont really wanna cut it up it still has 3 of 4 coils left to play on

  9. I would think that you can find the FS with test tones and a ammeter. If the impedance of a driver is highest at FS than I would play tones and see where the current is lowest.

thanx...that sounds familiar. I will have to buy some soft parts and test...see i I can build a nice sub with an FS of 20Hz

  10. ground pound... yeah... but really as one other memeber mentioned...the transient response is amazing...but then dont try to play a tl tuned for 23hz at 60hz at high power levels...it does not seem to perform well at more than 2x the frequency...but I tell ya the lows are amazing and at lower output levels it just sounds sooooo sweet.

it really doesnt need alot of power to hit awsome lows. but make sure whatever sub is used has lots of linear xmax( the Fi q's should be awsome ) and get a really good front stage with powerful midbass... otherwise it will not sound good at all.

carlapogi: no... 40hz is OK just make sure you use a subsonic filter several Hz below your TL tuning frequency to prevent powerwaste and keep your sub from unloading

btw my 8" shocks ppl when they see it..they swear that when they listened to it they listened to a 12" or a 15"

  11. thanx for the replies guys... when I first read up on t-line about 6 years ago I read that the quarterwave should be equal to the drivers Fs... right now and for the past 5 years I have been using an 8" RE RE which is listed to have an Fs of 22.8Hz so that is what I tuned..it sounds amazing..but I want more output...lol so Im working on doing something with a 10" or a 12" which will still fit in my Jetta's trunk. the 8" did some amazing feats such as hitting an incredible 137.8dB in an Equinox with only an amp rated at 2x60 RMS

now the reason I asked my question was I cant find a sub at a reasonable cost that will have the same Fs with more xmax..Im really working on hitting into 20Hz as hard as I possibly can for a competition...but I just simply love the sound of my 8" TL

so any other suggestions would be great.... Ive even considered rebuilding a sub myself to have a low Fs that is why I asked how to measure the Fs of the sub.

thanx again... sorry to ramble on :0

  12. what happens when u tune a TL box lower than the drivers Fs ? for exampl the driver in question has an Fs of 26Hz and I would like to tune @ 20Hz

besides the obvious wavelength being longer....

does the driver/box not perform quite as efficiently as one with an Fs of 20Hz?

btw: how do I test the Fs of a sub ? I have a DVM and tone gen available...is that enough ?

    thanx guys

  13. Yep, was out of the country for a little over a week... got back to work on Monday and had a FULL day... only to get stomach flu or some sort of cr@p early Tuesday morning. Was out all yesterday in bed and now back to work again. Fun times. Nick will be here soon and Ill get back on top of a week and some changes worth of emails, PMs and other assorted things.

    Sorry....

well good to see u back here... hope ur feeling better... stomache flu is a pain in the A$$... sorry... bad joke

    .Ill try calling u

  14. as in Scott aka FiCarAudio ? if u see this Scott I understand ur busy but I just need to get in contact you. weather you call me or email... I've tried calling for a while.. your inbox is full... did something happen?

    please call me

  15. if u want to use a t-line for daily then thats fine but the sub should be a bit softer than the regular stiffness... the stiffness also increases FS( correct me if im wrong here) which is not what you want from t-line enclosure. last t-line I built was for an RE RE8 the FS on that sub was 22.x Hz/ I tuned the t-line for 23Hz and it was amazing. Im not sure how a sub which has an FS of around 40HZ will sound in a T-line enclosure.
