  1. you could squeeze 4 15's in there, but it wouldnt reach your budget. and that'd most likely be with minimum air space for em. i'd go with a pair of 18's. brand is up to you. should be friendlier on your pocket also

  2. if i'm thinkin right...you dont wanna be closer than the shortest measurement of the port to the hatch. in that case would be 5". if you did...it'd just tune the box lower. and with that box...i believe you could just turn the port facing upwards and you'd have the sub up/port up the way you wanted and wont have to change dimensions of the port

  3. yeah you're going to need a nice beefy electrical system to run that amp at 1 ohm, let alone .5 ohms. that alt should hold it tho. they recommend a 200 amp alt, which that covers, plus 100 other amps for the car B)

  4. i was just lookin through this thread (been a member at SMD...decided to visit here more often) and i've been wanting to change my setup a lil. i was going to try to work with the 4 15 BTL's i had...but i've been looking into running a higher number of smaller woofers. i can definitely gain more cone area this way with the same power on hand. i was thinking of running 20 (300 watts a piece) ported, or maybe even 30 (200 watts a piece) sealed off of my 2 SAZ-3000D's, tho i like to be able to tune low (low to mid 30's if possible) with ported boxes. if they can be wired properly at that (that many drivers makes + ohm loads makes me go crazy :P) i have 12-16 cubes to work with, most likely a wall behind the back seats. so i cant port the 30. just wondering how these would stack up for a loud daily driver.

and if these were still on preorder? if so i am going to need to make up my mind fast.

EDIT: oh and thanks btw in advance for any insight :)

  5. ya Ive ran my 3000d at 1/2 ohm daily for a couple of monthes but Ive got a 200 amp alt a powermaster D2400 under the hood and I had 2 kinetik 800s in the rear connected togeteher with 6 runs of 1/0g wire but I recently replaced the 2 800s with an Alpha Cell 180GXL and even at low volumes it seems louder

i have a 200 amp ohio gen alternator, if you have 2 alts for 4 3000d's, then my alt should hold do me for now, right? for only getting 2 3000d's. but i'll check into those batts. i have an 01 explorer sport with the back seats out. the box is big, but i'm sure i can fit plenty of batteries in there.

if they can be run at .5 ohms safely with the right electrical system, then i'll probably run the amps at 1 ohm for each pair. should be able to handle the high loads then for burps/bass race from the looks of it. i dont see any comps around here happening till probably spring time, so i have time to upgrade it.

  6. ooooh nice. what all else would be needed to run at .5 ohms? i'm definitely going to add some batteries. and another 200 or more amp alt down the road, or upgrade to a much bigger alt altogether.

i am pretty sure i will be ready to buy these in the next day or two. how can i go about purchasing a pair?

  7. ok so i'm about ready to buy my amps. i will have 4 15" fully loaded 1 ohm btl's in about 16 cubes tuned to 32hz. but before i buy the amps...can a 3000d handle a pair of fully loaded btl's @ 1ohm? only time it will get turned up loud will be for competition burps. maybe to turn up for demos for friends :D. other than that it'll be regular volume, so nothing strenuous.

i have a 200 amp H/O alt atm, couple extra batteries (will upgrade to some kinetiks in the future), and i'm getting a solid 14.3/14.4 volts. i may try to add another alt if money allows.

also...would bass race be out of the question with this setup? to prevent burning up the amps? i'm kinda going out on a limb buying these amps cuz i've never heard one in person, but if i like them, i'll most likely get another pair and strap them to each pair.

    thanks :)

  8. i am going to get 4 15" fully loaded BTL's and was wondering what the best box to put them in would be. 5 cubes by themselves with a port? i always heard it's best to put them in their own box or if it shares a box, to put a separater to separate the subs. but lots of vehicles i see on here lately have 2 to 4 subs in one BIG box. any differences in the two? i saw steve meade (i'm sure you've seen him) fit 4 18's without walling his suv, so i'm hoping it may save on space to fit the 15's. i have a lil more than 20 cubes of airspace available. nothing bigger than 42"W x 33"H x about 40" long.

if possible it'd be nice to fit 4 18's, but the chances of that happening with my space are most likely limited

can anyone help me with box/port dimensions? i just want the best build possible. if you can i'd love you forever :woot:
