    JACOB Get to Searching...ASAP!

Directional huh? Make sure you break it in and use cable elevators to get the ultimate tonal balance.

    SAX 100.2 bridging

I read a post the other day about bridging the 100.4 and how it blew the power supply after a few months. Well, what about bridging the 100.2 at a 3 ohm load (like a JL W7). Would it be reliable long term to do this or not?

    Whats some good Cardio

I bought a new bike a couple months ago and got a computer with it. I should be at 500 miles by the end of the week. I havn't really lost much weight (i'm obese), but I have what I think very good tone in my calf muscles and my arms are really starting to get the tone back I had going to the gym over a year ago. My endurance has gone WAY up in this short time. I really do need to change my eating habits though so I see better improvement and faster. BTW, for you bike guys it's a Trek 4300 and I love it, my last bike was a 3900, lovin the treks.

    I want a SUNDOWN1500

Well, I want a brand new car for $1000, it doesn't always work that way. If you really want a particular thing you have to pay what people want.

Need help with my new stock 12Q D1

Nick permission to use this line in my sig please.... this is the greatest line i've heard used to describe a sub... It's so true that it's funny as hell Sure, i've said it for years lol . Because it's the truth...they are dumb. They don't destroy themselves, and they don't mess up themselves...it does what its told to do . Or else it gets the hose sorry, couldn't resist

    does anyone snowmobile???

I have a 98 xc 600 i havn't driven in like 2 years because we dont get much snow in southern mn lately. I did go to the U.P. this year and my rental was an 04 ski-doo MXZ 800. First A-arm sled I've ever driven (aside from an 09 skidoo e-tec i drove down the ditch that the guy had....mmm torque) and i LOVED it.

    MDF or birch

So how well does 3/4" birch plywood work, not the baltic stuff, the actual 11-ply that comes in a 4x8?

    which choice for lsq

Well, i guess that's what I meant when it's an overall goal, but just for subs they probably just want a two note wonder instead of a total one note wonder. But I agree when they're looking for LSQ and are only concerned about subs they usually just want loud bass.

    which choice for lsq

I think what most people mean by LSQ or S Q L (as this is for the most part my goal) is a good sounding system that can get very loud on the bass end. Effectively you have a well balanced good sounding system with lots of head room on the bass section so you can crank the remote gain when you want to have the air sucked out of your chest or crank it down when you just want some good sounding music.

    My home stereo setup

VERY NICE I probably would have maybe the towers one main external chamber so they're not stacks myself, but still awesome.

    Some original SD-1 12" Available

I just sent money, I think that means I got the last pair of SD-1's ever sold I have absolutely no plans for them yet, but c'mon, $80 for a pair of subs?

    Carputer

I have one in my 95 Cougar. I'm redoing the dash bezel right now, ill try to remember to take a couple new pictures of it. There's an old one. I have an 8" touch screen from here: http://www.short-circuit.com/ It's running an M2-atx power supply (has the startup/shutdown controller builtin), 1 gig ram, 120 gig sata laptop hd, can't remember the board, the board's a VIA CN13000 1.3ghz c7 mini-itx, and I have a soundblaster value card in it. I have it running through a kenwood excelon 591, but I may lose that and go to pc controlled EQ crossover after I investigate it some more since my soundcard supposedly does it. I personally don't like apple as a company and am not much of an ipod fan because of that, so my other car will probably end up with a zune, but there's a tiny chance i'll do a pc in that too. Oh ya, the heater controls are in the center console (some people actually have those controlled with their pcs...crazy)
  15. I'm sorry, I quit. Somebody else try.
  16. the sundown is rated at 400 watts @ 4 ohm bridged you could use a 1000 watt amp if you wanted on that sub, you just have to keep the gains down
  17. Sundown SAX100.2 sounds perfect for you

    System help

not going to happen, you'll either need to give them half the potential power you have available (2 ohm) or run them at 1/2 with some beefy electrical or find some used 3000's or recone the BL's (or sell them and buy the correct ones)

    SAX 100.2 bridging

I know the 100.2 is beefier and since the 100.4 lasted that long and with the higher load I figured it would probably be a decent bet it'd hold up. My friend's been looking for a new amp for his W7 so now I have something to recommend to him. Thanks a lot Jacob.

    ohm understanding

I STRONGLY recommend you read a beginners guide like this: http://www.bcae1.com/ there's alot of information there but it's all good to know.

    Im frickin lost

So there's way too many new products coming out and I don't know what I want to try. I want a good clean sounding system, but I'm a bit of a bass head and do like to crank the bass. I have a Q12 sealed in my other car and like the sound and how low it goes, but I want to look at other things. I drive a Magnum and could get two 15's or something big no problem, but other than lots of bass my goal is to stay low profile so I still have cargo room AND i'd like to keep the spare. So I'm thinking either in floor low profile or something that only comes slightly out of the floor. Some of my ideas have been 4 of the sundown 8's, 4 of the sd1v2's, or wait for the new SI BM's and get 2 or 4 of those. It changes every day, but what I'm leaning towards right now is the sd1v2's which would be sealed. Oh ya, power for any of the setups would be whatever's appropriate for the subs, so near rated. Any insight or other suggestions to throw into the mix, or should I just buy something more normal and lose the space. Ok, last thing for now, how many of you with daily drivers ditched the spare for a can of fix-a-flat. I drive about 60 miles round trip to work a day.

    3000d draw at 2 ohm

So what am I looking at for draw on a 3000d at 2 ohms. I'm considering 4 of the sd1v2 10s (ok, I'm considering lots of different setups...anyways) Basically I don't want to pay out my ass on electrical and upgrade my alternator and take up alot of space for batteries. I got a Magnum which has a 160 amp alt stock. What can I get by for batteries. Will a single Powermaster 3100 do it. Almost forgot, front stage will be a pair of sax100.2's. Thanks.

    3000d draw at 2 ohm

You would not be disappointed with the 1000D's and you could get away with your stock alt and a powermaster 3100 as a secondary battery. PS. The big three IMO on the Magnum which is somewhat the same setup as my charger would require you to run 1/0 from your alt under the hood to the battery in your trunk. It only has 4 ga factory so I would highly recommend it. That's the plan. So maybe that's a better way to put it, which will draw less a strapped pair of 1000's or a 3000@2?
  24. jbob

    3000d draw at 2 ohm

well like i said im thinking 4 of the sd1v2's so I can wire to .5, 2 or 8 If i want to stay with sundown, which Id really like to, that would leave me with a pair for 1000d's, a 1500 at .5 or a 3000 at 2. even though it's more money i'm liking the 3000d option and it leaves me with lots of power in case of future expansion I haven't got an actual quote on an alternator, but I've heard in the 5-600 for my car. Even though its a magnum and I should just go big, I do like the space and want to go for a fairly space efficient install. The battery's on these are in teh back, so I can't just add a battery without losing the spare, which I'm not sure I want to do. I SHOULD be able to sneak a group 31 in the factory area, and I can probably get a smaller battery like a d1200 in another space, but I don't want to give up much more space than that.

    E8 Pre-Order / Intro Sale

So any spl results yet from something other than a fart box like recommended sealed/vented? I'm really thinking about picking up 4, but don't know if I want to use them in my Magnum or as the sub section in my semi-active towers i'm planning.
