For sure. The output difference vs the two sa12's is insane, off of the same power too. The trunk is sealed for the 15's and wasn't with the 12's. He broke his rear view off of the windshield and got pulled over the day we installed them.

Same here, never had an issue I just sand the edges to remove the sharp edge. Just make sure you have adequate port area ~50" -

It is fine, 45's help but aren't a necessity. Round the edges with some sand paper and you'll be fine. -

A standard slot port is not difficult. -

The discrepancy in port length is due to having different net volumes for each calc. Torres accounts for port, woofer, and extra baffle displacement the other does not. And you need a lot more port area. -
And make sure you learn how to set your gain or you'll have another blown sub.

And now models wear a lot less clothing.

What are you going to use as a crossover? If you have a good crossover in your headunit you can do an active setup. It may just be a bettter option to get a comp set. What's your budget.

Xs Power- Power that surpasses the rest. Xs Power-When you need some more. Xs Power- The only option. Xs Power- Not just enough power, Xs Power. Xs Power-When others fall short, get Xs. Xd Power-If you need excess power, get Xs Power.

So I decided to pick up another Sa10 so I can wire down to one ohm. Now I just need to figure out how to fit these in my Infiniti I30. I've always done sub back, port back but can't with the four tens. I'm thinking about doing port and subs up, I've also thought about subs up port through the armrest. I'm capable of designing and building the box, just wanted to know if anyone had any advice about the layout. Thanks -Rick

Haha all of these are sooo true. -
Out of those I'd probably go with the Dcons. Nice comps BTW

In my opinion I think you should go with two 18's. Slightly less cone area than 3 15's, but you can wire to one ohm and have plenty of room for a nice ported box. With the three subs depending on if you get dual 1 or 2 you will have to wire to 1.5 or 1.33, and with that amp most likely being over rated with imp rise you will probably only see ~500 a piece.

Anyone with sa-8s in a extra cab midsize to fullsize truck?
ricksi30 replied to braapboogcafish's topic in General Audio
Probably the box. If you can't figure out port area how can you be sure it came out right. Not trying to be a jerk, just trying to help. -
Damn yeah 75 an hour for an inaccurate score, I'll pass. Excursion looks sick!

I'll keep everyone posted on my results and the other v40s results If I can get them I would love to make the volvo loud enough that people have to bail out. Obviously some people will take more then others, but you get the idea Okay I was just informed that one of the shops here in town has a TL. I actually contacted them a while back and they said they didn't have one, so they have gotten one recently. Contacted them about getting some metering time. I should be able to do more testing with Ken's meter since I won't be on any time crunch, and I'll compare his meter results to the TL. Whoa!!! Who has a TL in town?

So you really think that you will have SQ with 4 subs made for burps???? Well I have not tested them and I will know soon enough if they can blend well with a decent front stage or can't. If I can't modify the enclosure build to make it happen or change front end I guess we know. I have not found a decently made subwoofer I could not make sound good, its all in the enclosure and application. If this is the first one that I can't make sound great with a front stage then it will be a first for me. I will also be testing out a MS-8 JBL processor later in the year to see if it improves on what I can already do. As for the 4 subs they really only see alot of power during open door demo's, and competition if I ever find a show that I don't have to officiate. Install is 90% of a good setup, but SQ is not at all what these drivers are made for.

How to flare pvc http://www.subwoofer-builder.com/flares-25mm.htm

I think that 34 is my favorite tuning for a daily setup because its the perfect amount of spl and sq. A higher freq is generally louder because cars usually peak higher than a daily box would be tuned. The reason a lower tuning sounds better is that a box tuned to ~38+ is going to roll off below tuning and you lose a lot of low end. Also playing far below tuning can cause your sub to unload.

Good stuff man.
