    The guy at Distinct Beat in Gastonia is reasonable. He metered my Pontiac for free if I agreed to put in $50 during his event raffle the next day., Cool part is I won the 50/50 woot woot!

    Its coming along slowly, box still needs finished. Running on just passenger speaker and tweet for at least a month now. Just haven't had the time to get into the driver door yet. I'm happy so far but always want more lol. Will have to get up with ya soon for a demo.

    Its a daily setup and I agree on just making it sound good to me. Only reason I want to meter it is for benchmark purposes. I know eventually I will want something louder and want to see the difference in numbers if ya know what I mean.

    Decided to keep the Image Dynamics and probably gonna run them active. I may end up playing with some different speakers in the future but I feel like I will be more than happy with these for now. Any recommendations on some starting crossover points and slopes?

    I thought about getting some PWX 6.5" CRESCENDO PRO AUDIO MID RANGE but read some reviews about pro drivers being more loud than sound quality oriented. I can certainly return the ctx65s if there are much better options for my money.

    Well I read decent reviews on them, I doubt there bad speakers. Probably could have got something better for my money but these are my first set of aftermarket speakers. Didn't want to go all out at first. Might run them passive at first and experience the learning curve before going active right off the bat. What would you have recommended?

    I can make a list of new stuff now in addition to the head unit. Just put the order in for a pioneer gm-d8604 for my front stage amp, image dynamics ctx-65cs component speakers for up front, xs power d3400 for in the rear to make my sub amp happy. Going to be like christmas here for me and a lot of work to install everything the way I want. Cant wait to actually have a quality system in the civic, so excited!

    Spend two minutes modeling it under power in WinISD and you will know your trade-offs.

    Every time I model something in winisd I feel like changing the power shows no difference. I could be doing something wrong maybe?

     

    Well maybe I meant when changing the port size in winisd nothing changes on the graph, I see changing the power just makes it louder(more dbs) on the graph.

    I'm gonna assume that parametric affects the frequency band you've selected as well as the surrounding frequency bands verse independent eq only changes the selected frequency. I understand that the 80prs does independent eqs for left and right channels but was unsure of how it worked if not indepently adjusting left from right.

     

    If i'm not running it in network mode I would assume its gonna be very similar to my x9500bhs as far as its processing capabilities. Just a simple hpf for speakers and lpf on the subwoofer control correct? If using it in network mode (active) would the regular speaker outputs be active or only the rca pre outs?
