  1. Don't EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER hack a harness off. For 2 reasons. You will not figure anything out unless you know exactly what you're looking for and probably have to pay someone to go ion and fix stuff, and usually when people hack harnesses off, they cut everything at the same time. When you cut power and grounds at the same time with a METAL cutters, you short out the power circuits and blow fuses.

Anyways, you shouldn't need anything special if you don't care about on star. Just sounds like the factory amp is not powering up. Find the blue or blue with white wire on the aftermarket harness and tie it into any switched power source whether it is the remote turn on off the aftermarket radio or the acc power provided to the radio. It will work either way.

  2. I actually prefer the w6v2 to the W7 but that is besides the point. I have worked with JL products and their company a lot and they are top notch ion every aspect. Great products, service etc. From what I've seen here on SSA, SSA does just as well but I've worked with less of their products. I did have the pleasure of helping build and install an Xcon and it was by every means a good subwoofer. Deep powerful low end that blended well with the rest of the audio system and had the ability to get damn loud for a single 12" sub.

Either way you go, I'd be willing to bet that you'll be a happy guy.trink40.gif

We need to fix that. ;)

I love free samples. especially when you go to the grocery store and they have some awesome pizza or maybe some kind of meat product. Just saying :)

  4. I have a Droid X, and on my 3rd in a about a month. My first phone was shit, super slow and always froze up. The second worked great, then 1/3 of the screen stopped working and you could hear something internal humming. On my third and everything seems to be working fine. Bad luck? Probably. I am the same person who got the same DVD from netflix broken 4 or 5 times in a row.

  5. There is almost no downside to plasmas anymore.

There are many more upsides to owning a plasma than downsides. Everyone at the retailer I used to work at had a plasma except 1 guy, and his next TV is going to be a plasma. The LCD/LEDs are getting better, but I'd still rather own a plasma.

The only LCD/LED I would own would be a high end SONY LED tv, but those cost almost 5k and at that point, I'd find a used Pioneer Elite :)

    Plasma FTMFW

  6. That radio will allow you to do a steering wheel interface with the right Pac part, but I am biased against Jensen.

I'd much rather put a Kenwood in for a little more money. The only thing the Kenwood lacks when compared to the Jensen is HD radio which isn't essential. The kenwood looks better, and the user interface is levels above. I've installed and played around with both. Kenwood takes the cake.

$80 will make a big difference

  7. It's nothing more than an equalizer. The only difference is it is center around a certain frequency or band and Q.

A bass cube would be a parametric eq, but a Bass restoration processo,r like the epicenter, is not.

The epicenter looks at the signal coming in and finds a number of harmonics in the input signal and creates the low frequency that was non-existent before. Audio Control gives a good generalization of what the epicenter actually does on their site somewhere but it's more and an eq.

  8. Today a young man on acid realized that all matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration. That we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively. There is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves. Here's Tom with the weather.

    I love Bill Hicks!

You gotta listen to some Doug Stanhope. It's a lot more raunchy, but he's on similar lines as Hicks.

  9. I agree, nice tools are a blessing. Makes the job easier. I have used Craftsman and Snap-on tools for almost everything. Wiha screwdrivers are the best though.

I love Wiha screwdrivers, just bought some more actually.

I have been using Wiha for a while now, their build quality is fantastic....even when I use my flat blade for a pry bar. =D

Holy Fack! this guys still around? First visit here in a while.

But on that note, quality tools are a blessing. I have been buying Snap On most recently, but I won't have to be buying tools now with the new job :P Provided for me!

  10. hahaha slim142 every 3db's you increase it's twice as loud so a 143 is a joke compared to a 156!!!!!!

143-146-149-152-155!!! 5x louder thats a hell alot louder!

    I see

I guess what I need is somebody to give me a demo of 140 and then 155db to clearly experience the difference myself.

Sucks to know in south FL, its been nearly impossible to find somebody with that amount of bass.

It will literally take your breathe away. Crazy.

  11. stumbled upon this on ebay... is it really that rare?

    PG Octane

Yeah, part of their LE line. They have made these awesome multichannels over the years and only build a few. But it has been a while since they have done it.

I doubt that we'll see any more instant classics from them. The last two owners have done a fantastic job of destroying the brand...I really need to get my Son of Frank working right...

AAMP of America seems to be working hard to rebuild the brand to the days of yore.

The shop I used to work for was impressed enough with their new amps to bring them back if that says anything.

One of the cooler amps I've seen was the PG Reactor. I've seen on or two RF Power 1000 & 650 Mosfet amps too.

I just got rid of my RF 800a2. What a power monster.
