OK how do I determine how much battery I will need? If I leave my stock battery upfront and us both XS D34000 in rear of car would that be sufficient? Do I need to look at a different model of battery? This is my first full blown system. I have one 12 now but not happy and not the correct sub for me. I am just wanting to upgrade to a better system that just gets down right nasty loud and low. But I also want to have respect for sound and what it is. I would like to see some cup holder movement. Not sure how else to explain this. I am pretty sure I would not be able to build a box for the fifteen to fit in my trunk. I would have height issues with that size of sub and stil being able to make properly sized box. I am intending to make the sub forward fire with the port facing same direction to also help with car vibration of trunk. This is why I am looking at 2 12's. I have thought about using the sa8 v-2 as a door mounted midbass sub or used on my rear deck for midbass. Has this been done or is this just a bad idea?

So I am concerned with weight. I have sent some requests out and waiting on replys to see where my suspension upgrades will range from. This was my plan on my orginal setup: 2-Zcon or Xcon 12 D2 subs 2-crescendo BC2000d strapped(already own) 2-XS BC3400D batteries(already own) Multiple runs of knuconcepts 0 gauge oxy free(already comlpleted Alternator upgrade Front sound stage to follow: New Idea I like what I have read and seen only in video of the SA8-v2 sub. I think its pretty amazing for such a small sub. So this was my thought. I would use 4 of these subs in a ported enclsoure. I would end up with more cone area than 2 15's. Possible save a few pounds to. Opinions, thoughts, Ideas

Been looking at air helpers. Found a couple places that sell them and not to badly priced. I have used these on my trucks when hauling trailers. I felt it helped even smooth put my ride on the truck when i wasnt towing. I will let you know what I find out.

Speaker box material... I have been told to use Mdf. I have seen other types of wood use as well, what are these other types?

looking at the VM-1 for a volt meter. vs. the stinger model. Are there any issues with using the VM-1? I just noticed alot of people us teh stinger model.

Earlier in this thread there was a post about not to use the DD-1 to set amp gain. Is this still true today? Are there opinions about using the CC-1? Can you explain further?

Thanks this is what I thought but after 95honda posted that I needed the clarification. fusing and wire to order and then start on enclosure.

So we finally got some decent weather and have started with my install. I had ordered some knuconcepts 1/0 gauge and it arrived it mail today. I had installed all the sound deadener I had which wasn't enough. I decided to make the positive run with my wire that just so happen to arrive. I was able to complete run so it’s ready for next step. Now I am looking at the rest of my electrical and what I will need. I have 2 XS D3400 on their way. One of which I am thinking of using as my main car battery. (This was the battery recommended off of XS website for my vehicle.) the second will be for my audio system. I want to ensure I use the correct fusing for this install. I believe I need 2-300 amp fuses before each positive connection of the batteries within 12 inches of post. Is this correct? I have two Crescendo BC2000D amplifiers I was planning on installing. These units do not have fuses on them. What is the fuse size recommended to run in the positive power wire running to amp? How do you calculate this? Should I run a single positive lead on the rear battery to a distribution block and then go to amps? Fuse before T and/or after T? Should I just make two separate leads from rear battery to amplifier with inline fuses? Also I was getting ready to start with my big 3 upgrade. When I looked at the power connection I have a positive connection point which is separate from battery. Also I have to remove bumper to get to front battery, yes it sucks. Do I need to upgrade wire to that location? Then replace the wire that comes off this unit? Haven't really investigated yet kids waked up from nap. I will include picture of connection point. I had a shop install my current system in January and this is how they connected the 4 gauge. Is this recommended or just convenient for the installer?

KnuKonceptz Kolossus Fleks Kable 1/0 is the wire I purchased. From what I read this is not the CCA wire they sell. It is called something else. Am I correct with this information.

Oh yea.... Are there any reasons why you wouldn't choose a circruit breaker over a fuse? I read somewhere that the circuit breakers are rated differently than the fuse any truth to this?

I figured it was overkill actually but its done now. I would like to seal trunk off once I get box built and installed. I am assuming this will help right? Also it was recommended that I make 2 runs of 1/0 off my front battery to my rear battery. Then two runs off back battery, one to each amp. Is this excessive? I have 2 XS D3400 should be here on monday for power. one for front and one for rear.Also I am installing 2 crescendo BC2000D strapped to power 2 Zcons. I plan on upgrading alt but funds not there yet. I am needing to order more wire for Big 3 upgrade and if I needed to make this second run I would like to order it all at once.

Maybe this will help me get at answer? The only amp I have had in the past 10 years I bought in January. Had someone install everything including the wiring and fuse. Now I want to upgrade system and I wanted to do it myself. So I cannot find a crescendo manual to read. I bought my amps off this web site and they did not include a manual. I cannot locate a manual online either. Sorry but I feel like I have to pull teeth on this web site sometimes for answers. I have been reading alot of things on this site and have found alot, I mean alot, of useful information and helped me with my purchases. I guess I am unable to ask the correct question to get answers. Can someone please help.

So today double checked yesterdays install. Mail Man arrived with a package!!!! KnuCocepts....Wiring Yes!!!! This stuff is crazy heavy. I have never used 0 gauge before. This wire is amazing. I have an arc audio 1200.1 amp I have not used it yet but wanted to see if anyone on this thread had any opinions on it. I also have bc2000D amplifier. I realize the wattage difference. I have been told that the arc will be very effecient. Should I expect the same out of the crescendo? Just exploring options. My build if for my daily driver.

This is my box design. After designing it I am not sure which sub to choose I have been looking at either the xcon or zcon. Also I looked at not making my port width as wide say 5.75 inches but not sure how much port area I should have. port length, box size, and design are all in question looking for advice on how to improve this design.
