  1. Check out O Audio for plate amps. The HTR for an amp is a nono (won't handle the impedance and how are you going to cross it?). A proper sub plate amp is probably cheaper than the alternative of running a pro-audio type amp and an x-over (though you could possibly do w/o the xover if you are using the sub out on your receiver).

    http://www.oaudio.com/

The 300W is only $159 and the 500W is 229CAN. If you are in the states also check out parts-express. Sub plate amps often go on sale there.

With any of the plate amps you'll have to run the voice coils in series. I haven't seen a plate amp that can do 1ohm yet.

All prices are in US Dollars

  3. You are correct sir. I think the OP is referring to the volume used in a box however. Factor in about 0.12 cubes (if that is the case).

    Best,

    Mark

Yeah that's what I was looking for, thanks guys

Im looking at building what will probably be a 25" cube with 2 2100 gram PRs from CSS

  4. Some off brand 42" plasma

    Yamaha RX-V1600 receiver

    Yamaha DVD-S1700 DVD player

PlayStation 3 for games and Blu-Ray

Paradigm monitor 9's V.6 for fronts

    Paradigm CC 290 v.5 center

    Paradigm Titan V.5 for sides

Paradigm Mini Monitor V.6 for rears

2 Earthquake 12s in a pretty big ported box and soon a Mach 5 IXL 18 in LLT.

  5. Don't wire one coil per channel on the AVR. a 2 ohm load will surely kill it, I even question four, and "IF" you did that, you'd need a crossover at least. Just buy a Dayton amp from PE or a bash 300/500.

Or if you are in Canada creativesoundsolutions has amps.

And I don't get it, you have $ for multiple HK receivers, a IXL 18 but not an amp? :suicide-santa:

  6. Would be using a earthquake PHD5k amp, "3000 rms at 2 ohms" whatever at 1 ohm rms maybe 4? o0

Anyhow, Wondering fully loaded BTL or would BLs be able to handle the 4k rms fully loaded?

I wont lie, I love loud, and <3 bass. Who here doesn't fing05.gif So they will be getting slammed hard as I can. But dont flame me it wont be in residential areas ;)

  7. In Cranbrook, TPI

And By car audio websites, I want something like woofersetc, Sonic electronix, Something with some bigger meatier parts, none of this oooooh 300 rms sub =p

I was about to get 2 of those 15's from Creative from Bob, but then sold the truck I was going to put them in :(

New truck I think 15's having the seat all the way back would be a pita ;) (EXT cab but still, unless it was a wall. but im not into that)

Was looking at an Earthquake Holees, and a PHD5000w Or a Kicker KX2500.1, but kicker in canada is $$$$$
