Ive got kicks in now and looking at redoing the drivers side currently. Im VERY happy with the germs, just need more kick.

WOuld you recommend going with the 26 or do you think the 22s would be sufficient? In DIY about all ive used are some old vifas, and although ive heard alot about seas I have yet to set anything up with them.

The tang band looks like it would be worth trying just for the amount, would be something to do just because. Guess i could use that as an initial and at least get the clearance issues sorted.

    Neon Rider,

that peerless is a monster....would really have to get a little bit more serious to run that thing i think...

also like the A/P but would prefer the extra cone area of that 10...just something about tens up front.

  2. that was the point of the kicks. in choosing initially i went with the 465s for the four mid option. Really happy with the sound for the two years that Ive had them, and have been looking at goig to a domed mid setup, but with looking to deploy in a bit figure it would be a nice project just to build on what i have rather than the dyns i like.

i considered yanking the fifteen but would still like to have that around for when we watch movies or play games in the car. love for it to kick in then and its easily enough defeated for musicality day to day.

currently eying making new door panels and think that the tens in the front would bring more focus. even open to really strong 8s.

  3. Im looking for a ten inch alum woofer to get a little more detail in the front. I would like to lower the tuning frequency on my 15 and looking to add 2 10s to blend with my germaniums then moving to the kicks (Only use two of the four mids).

Main thing would have to be able to run IB as my doors are deadened and sealed pretty well. I used plexi to seal off any compartmental openings and then prayed a window motor never goes out ;) but essentially im working on my processing now and think this would be a good step forward prior to making my selections.

    THanks for any recommendations.

I currently use two 3/4 mdf spacers and reflex pads. figure i can get away with the tens ...my main goal is to not have to replace the current mids :D

dont want the hassle of selling the gems :P

  4. sounds like the fuse is arcing. With my xtant I ran a 150 anl fuse. Upon going to a larger amp 1501d it would cut off intermittently for no apparent reason. Starting at the subs tested to make sure the ohms were constant, checked remote voltage at the amp, solid ground, left voltage. Fuses good on the amp. Then finally the front fuse.

While it looked to be good, if you moved it back and forth the fuse would arc on the side. Switched the fuse out, and no issues since.

  5. forgive the question but for the type of music have you considered sealed? ive run everything from six 10w6's sealed to 4 12s sealed (for comp) with 2 tens for day to day molded into the rear deck, to 3 10s ported, 1 15 ported the list goes on and on. Different stages of life, different desires...

just that personally i love the power handling, sound, and response of a small sealed enclosure, just personally i think it would be a good choice for your build with the music taste.

  6. Hey whats going on.

Been in car audio for a minute. Been lurking over on car audio forums for a few years, and due to a purchase from FI was referred here. Needless to say, good collection of people and looking forward to ...hanging out on the site..

  7. Yeah, I'll look at it tonight. The pioneer decks are famous for that stuff from what Ive heard. I understand the fix is to ground the rcas to the chassis. Do you think that would work for the 701? BTW the hiss is loud to me, but you can only hear it when volume is up quite a ways, and I found it when I was listening to the iasca sq disc, the track where the music fades away.

my usual course is to ground the rca's anyway. i would recommend trying that off the top. good luck.

pretty much mirrors the specs of my 1501. i got mine from a member on caraudio forums for 290 just a couple weeks old. even got the info to setup warranty :)

good looking though. When you get a chance could you update us on the door panels. im really interested to see how your gonna do them. I can see the flowing of the speakers, but really at a loss for the handles. both to close and unlock it. cant visualize where thats going. thx

  9. beautiful setup. wall wise, dont know what your doing with the doors, its gonna be interesting to see how that turns out. Ive been considering redoing mine but eeeeehhhhh havent had the energy lol :cookiemonster:

im running a te1501d on a single 15 3.6 tuned to 32 hz and its a great amp. No issues as of yet. run the old school mtxs for some time as well and love em. solid amps that do over power, although the retail pricing is high ;)
