I really don't have any space... That is the problem really. It does have a double baffle on the top. Here is a pic of my previous enclosure w/o the top baffle on (basically the exact same enclosure). I think I will just use about 8 dowel rods for bracing. I would double everything up, but I cannot due to space. And I was going to glass the whole inside, but that seems that I won't help as much for what I need to do. Here is a pic of the box plan. It has a 45 in the port, but would it help to curve all the corners using glass, or should I just try it as an experiment, or do y'all think it'll be worth it?

Oh god you scared me for a second HA! Ok that's what I was thinking. Dowels take up almost no space and are easy to put in. Would glassing at least all the corners help noticeably do you think? Or would that be a waste of time/money? And by noticeable, I mean to the ear... I'm not really a competitor.

What is the song in this vid man? Thanks! That thing is siiiiiick!!!

Not exactly. Just let me know if you want to change things. 25" long will introduce other problems (internal volume changes). That and I like to keep the ends of the port as far away from other walls as I can... Just me though. If you want to tune lower and maintain around 9 cu. ft., you will need to make the enclosure bigger... Let us know what you think man. Rob, hit me up with your email and I will give you the meanest box making tool ever.

Try this: 15.5 high 41 deep/wide 36 deep/wide Those are OUTER dimensions and do NOT include the second top baffle. You will just add the second baffle. Doesn't affect calculations. I'm assuming you will build the box normally, where the top and the bottom are not flush, but are on the very top and bottom. Use a port 7 inches wide and 14 inches tall and 20 inches long to give you 32 hz tuning. This will give you 9.11 cu. ft. net. If you need me to change things, just tell me! Internal dimensions will be 14x39.5x34.5

Got some probs with your figuring. What will be the outer dimensions INCLUDING the double baffle? Your figures do not add up, and they are different in what you wrote and on the pic. Good luck.

I don't have a disc to install windows on my mac, and I kinda want to use my TermLab. Does anyone know how to do this without using bootcamp or a visualizer?

Alright... Thanks guys. I just didn't wanna drop 100 bucks for xp... but looks like that's the only way to do in on a mac. And I'll contact him. Thanks! -
Can I please see those graphs?

I don't understand how you would attempt to drop hundreds of dollars on subs when you haven't tried your subs in a different box... I've built 6 boxes in the past year alone to find the right one. The box makes a massive difference in how subs perform/sound/etc. Getting rid of those subs at this point in time would be ridiculous. Not attempting to diss SSA in ANY way, but I think you should play around with what you have right now a little more before parting with them... Also, attempting to do 150 dB while sounding good enough for a daily driver is not an easy task. You need to know what you are doing. Having two 15's in a box someone else built (and built wrong) is a ways away from 150+ daily... miles away.

Laptop Woes (Help Me!)
nick_19 replied to Maddenkid2011's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
Yupp. My comp. showed the infamous "cannot find OS" and it ended up that my hard drive was just dead. Whooo... not. I ended up getting a mac. 1) no more worrying about the power cord being yanked because of the Magsafe power adapter whoo 2) SSD (solid state drive)... no more moving parts in my hard drive. This way my laptop will actually last me. Costs more initially, but this combined with AppleCare will just take care of so much in the long run. -
I'd personally hold out for a little bit. Believe me... every system I got was going to be my "last and perfect" system. Well I end up changing every few months... I'd say: save up your money throughout the summer, and then decide... I mean not to be a parent, but patience is always a good virtue.

What box are your BL's in right now...

Kinda funny. I mean if you can why not. Just be careful but that is pretty close to running the sub in free air, which could cause damage if you aren't smart about it. Other than that.... 3/10 on the improvision. At least you tried! Still funny.

The best luck I've had with painting boxes is using some type of textured paint (such as fleck paint or cheap truck bed protector), letting it dry, and then painting over that. Don't know why it works, but it really helps keep the paint from soaking in, although you cannot have a nice smooth surface. Good luck! Surprising to know that resin makes a box weaker. Thanks for the info.

Could just be that the sub is hitting the back of your seat. Or it could be the air from the port flapping something in your truck. I hear lots of funny noised when things drop below 25 Hz, but it's always just something in my car groaning... Like the entire rear deck O_o Nice set up! And great CS from Audibel. Good guy to have on the site!!! Oh yeah, and at what frequencies do you hear this? It could be below tuning and the port is merely unloading, which would describe the funny noises.

Oh ok. I am not very proficient at Excel. I did not know it was that easy my friend... Thank you though! Lesson learned for today. EDIT: for my stupidity, anyone that wants this calculator can just PM me and I'll email it to you. Thanks!

Hey guys. I used to have a nifty little excel sheet based off of JL's equation, but my computer died and poof went that. Does ANYONE have this document? The original was removed by the poster. Please help me out here guys. That thing was the key to me making any enclosure. Thanks!

Yeah but I was wondering if anyone had a Excel Spreadsheet with this formula plugged into it. There used to be one, but the file was removed: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=18393
