Not everyone listens to lil jon.

at least play something that really shows off the excursion like a test tone CD around 35hz and below.

  2. Sweeeet!!! Can't wait to try out those PRs. right now the G5s are temporarily in a sealed prefab box with no PRs and they sound awesome. I hope they'll be even better in this box. I'll post pics as soon as the box and PRs arive.

Where are you getting the PR's from? I want to see some videos of this.

The PRs are the Boston Acoustics GTR12s. Heres the only video i can find on youtube:

I've never seen a box where the PR is the same size diameter as the active driver. Normally the PR is larger, or there's more of them.

I don't have much experience with PRs. Just going by what Boston is reccommending in their manuals.

  4. Ya man I see alot of cases where lets say the FI Q sub is 279 shipped. Someone will try to sell it for like 200 plus shipping which would be like 230 hell id rather just spend the extra 50 for new

Do you think $200 shipped for Fi Q 12" 1ohmDVC is reasonable?

how long did you use them... who installed them and how hard hard did you play them.... and where is your gain at on that amp?

Used for a month... I installed it in a sealed 1 cu ft enclosure and then a 2.0 cu ft ported @ 32hz.... gain is 1/4 from lowest setting on a Diamond Audio D31000.1 amp

    yeah thats worth it:D

I'm selling. Just wondering if thats an appropriate price to sell.

  7. Yes, the D1 coils will fit fine in the D2 gaps. The D2 gap is the "universal" gap that we machine to.

Not a problem on getting a kit for that one to match another... get new leads with the kit to match the new sub as well.

    Thanks,

    Scott

Can this be done with a Dual 1 ohm Q? I need a dual 2 ohm now since I got a new amp.

    Ummmm, Nope.

Guess I'll be underpowering it at 600w

  9. I have a 4 channel ED amp that when bridged to run as a 2 channel amp only takes one RCA Cable as a signal with no ability to fade the signal from left to right. When I made a negative review on their website, they don't even post it. I've always wondered why every product they sell has an amazing list of good reviews (4 to 5 stars).

Im gonna go out on a limb here and say its user or install error.

btw... i hooked up an old Eclipse 4 channel amp right after and it performed as expected so all wiring was correct.

picture this... a four channel amp... set to 2 channel... only one RCA cable connected, not a pair, JUST ONE... a signal is sent to both left and right speakers... How is that possible?

  11. Wow a positive review. Obviously he was paid off by Ben and the evil forces... :lildevil:

Even though Ben runs the company i dont support him personally because i dont even know him(although ive spoken with him a few times). I do, however, support the products they(there are other great people working at ED) make because they have all worked for me flawlessly in the past as have other products from Fi, DLS, Alpine etc which ill continue to support.

I just wonder how many people here have actually used their products...ie amps, drivers, and have legitimate issues with them? By "legitimate" i mean hands on, not oh i heard from so and so on the forums blah blah blah or from my buddy so and so. If you have had problems that were handled unjustly then i agree to avoid their product as would I with any manufacture, but i would not go around flaming a company online like a teenager.

This isnt aimed at everyone in this thread. Some of you seem rather professional, while others seem to follow the typical 12v mob mentality.

  12. Does any1 have a 12" Q in a sealed around 1 cubic feet? I want to know if the q will get loud in a sealed. Im thinking of replacing my 2 JL 10W7 with 1 12" Q or maybe I should just power 1 JL 10w7. The 2 w7s take up my whole trunk and i just want to get some of my trunk back. I have enough to put a Q in a sealed enclosure but have around 1.5-1.7 cubic feet for ported. My amp does around 800-900 watts at 4 ohms or 1600watts at 1 ohms so dual 2 ohms it is. Should I just keep 1 of my jl 10w7 and port it? Will that sound close to a 12 Q sealed?

My 12" Q is in a sealed 1cuft enclosure. It gets plenty loud for me. All I had to test it was a cheap Radioshack sound meter which maxes out at 126db. The sub did max out the meter and now I'm wondering how loud it actually is.
