  1. Hello everyone I have a little problem. I just installed another kinetik hc 2400 in my 03 yukon. I am currently running 1 red top under the hood and 2 kinetik hc 1400 and 2 kinetik hc 2400. I'm pushing 2 18's tc sound ultra lms and a ia40. I am waiting for my second one to come. I charged the 5 month old 2400 and one of the 1400. After installing all the batteries and driving for 20 minutes my engine light came on. What's the problem. I tryed removing the connections for 5 mins to reset the computer, but that didn't work. Anyone know what I can do to fix this problem?

  2. I'm gonna assume your talkin about a slot port, The anwser is yes, In fact most slot ports are the shape of an L do to the length usually has to be longer then the depth of the box to get the proper tuning.

Thanks much I am makin the port 3" x 24 and 18" down and 6" across each chamber I hope thats right

  3. Hello friends charles here and I need to talk to some one on the phone about my dimension of my box to be sure that I have the right measurements for my box before I start making it. H 22.5 x L 46 x D 28 now I want the two tc sound lms 18' subs that I have to be facing up with the ports in this box. My port is 4 x 21 this gives me 84. I want the box to be tuned to 35 hz. Is this right and how long should this be from the bottom of the box to work? Is it possible or do I do have to have the subs facing towards the back door. I have a 03 yukon. I am in Kuwait and I am willing to call who ever I can so please leave your will leave number or pm me so that I can get the box built for these subs. some one please help me or please tell me what I need to do. Thank you for your time friends

  4. You can probably bend it back and it'll work fine if nothing is torn, otherwise let me know and I'll file a claim with UPS.

Hey guys I just got both of my tc sound 18 lms today and one of mine had a crank in top of the frame also it will play fine I think, but I think I may have a problem with the mounting and sealing of the sub. I will post pictures of it later. I think I might be able to work with it. We will see.

  6. you are going to need a LOT more port area than a 3" round port for 2 18's. I'd say do something at least 120 sq. inches, which if you're doing round ports would require at least four 6" round ports. I think in most SUVs the alignment of subs up, port back works the best.

Ok I think I mean to say 3' by 19.5 I hope thats right on each chamber. The port is going to run the full length and be 3' on the sub side up. I hope thats right.

  7. I want to make a box for my 03 yukon this is what I have H21"xL46"xD28" I want to chamber both 18's with a 3" port turned to 33hz is this right for my truck. I want to put the subs up with ports up is this right or should I go with subs up and ports back? Need help from the family. Thanks for all the advise.

  8. you could always hope the guard knew what a LMS ultra was, if that was the case i bet upgrades to first class would be issued. On a serious note, is their anyway you can even get the 80 pound drivers on the plane due to weight. Also im assuming you could ask someone if they are able to be cleared ??...

iirc the baskets only weigh like 26 lbs each... I think the motors would most definitely have to be shipped though.

Thanks I think when they get here (in NC) I will just separate them and shipp them to my self in Kuwait. When I get back I will start to put my 03 yukon together. I can't wait to see and hear what it's going to sound like. two tc sound ultra lms on a ia40.1 amp. wow can't wait

  9. Can they fit in a suitcase?. At least with shipping you don't have to worry about the airport detaining the motors thinking that they contain uranium, lol. I doubt an airline would let you place them in your luggage. A) they weigh too much and B) national security would probably think they are some sort of explosive.

Yeah I think your right about that one so what you think I should separate them and just ship them throught the mail. Each subwoof is about 80lbs. I don't know how much they are separated.

  10. Well I have two tc sound ultra lms 18" and want to ship from the states NC to Kuwait. What should I do and or who should I use to ship them if I have to? Should I separate them and ship them that way or take them back with me in two separated suit cases. I like option two my self, but what do you guys think. I leave on friday so please help me out. Thanks for your time friends

  11. the problem at idle is that alternators put out way less power there. Even 150 amp alts will only put out 60 at idle. So if you'd want the voltage to stay high you'd need like 4 alternators so that you can get over 200-250 amps just at idle.

As Adrian said, you'll probably have enough battery power to stay at 12+. But your alternator's voltage will quickly become overloaded at idle and you'll be down to just battery voltage. So what you'd need to do is find enough alternator(s) whose total idle amperage would be over.......200 at least I'd say.

Cool that sound like a plan I was thinking of adding another alternator maybe a 300 amp one to go with the 200 I already have. but 12+ is still not bad. Thanks for all your help friends

  12. well are you talking about staying at 13.6 at idle or while driving?

with the a/c on or off

    with the headlights on?

heated seats... there are so many veribials.

i have one saz 3000d.... sitting at a stoplight for more then 1 mins. with the headlights on and a/c on.. no music playing at all im at 12. ur my screens heated seats and lights and s/c im near 11.

but i can RUN ALL THAT... while wangin running down the road at 13.6.

your saying you never wanna dip below 13.6... well you need a power plant... your gonna need 3 alts, 24 powermaster cells. and a big wallet

well two things one I would like for it not to drop below13.0 while sitting banging the music if possible but driving 13.5 is it possible with the set up i have or do I need to add something else?

  13. It is enough juice :)

From my experience you do not need an isolator. I tried one of those amps on 3 batts similar to the HC2400 in specs and during power tests the voltage didn't drop below 12.4V (car was off, batts were fully charged)

cool but how do i keep the volts up passed 13.0

  14. I will be flying back to the states from Kuwait in two days and if some one could help me out and show me what I need to do that would be great. I will be in Charlotte, NC area for about 21 days. I would like to start putting my truck together when I get back to Kuwait. I am willing to travel to see as many set ups as I can. Please help thanks for your time charles

Right now I have 2 TC Sound 18' Ultra LMS with a 200 amp alternator one red top batt one 1400 kinetik and one IA40.1. I

  15. Hey Friends... I just wanted to know how do you have your music hooked up? Are you running your wires from the battery or from the positive on the alternator? Right now I have 2 TC Sound 18' Ultra lLMS with a 200 amp alternator one red top batt one 1400 kinetik and 4 hc2000 kinetiks with one IA40.1 amp waiting on the other one. My plan is run two or three lines with the big three already done. I am trying to keep my volts up pass 13.5 when the bass hits. Please advise me on what to do. Do I need better batteries or 16v batteries. Do I need a Isolator or not when hooking up four or more batteries? I will be flying back to the states in two days and if some one could help me out and show me what I need to do that would be great. I will be in Charlotte, NC area for about 21 days. Please Help Thanks Friends

  16. to be honest, I think that voltage drop with that many batteries should be your last concern. If you think you need it, do multiple 1/0 runs from the alt to your bat's, it will help keep em' charged better/quicker. but, imo thats more than enough bat.'s, for only one IA 40.1.

as far as subs go.... how many cubes, what r u looking to get outa them...? goals... ect., and we"ll go from there.

I have about 13 cubes to work with. I

  17. I'm putting in a new system 300 amp alternator 4x khc 2000 and yellow top under the hood on a IA 40.1 amp. The subs still thinking about what I should run with this amp any suggestions? I would like to keep the volts at 14.4 no lower than 14.1. Can some tell me how I can do this without have any voltage drop? Do I need to set up the system for 16v to keep the volts at a steady 14.1 or higher?

  18. It's not as easy as it seems.

Figure a 300amp alternator will sustain 14.4v until that 300 amps is exceeded. Then you switch to battery power, which will be around 12.8 volts. So in order to keep 14.1 steady volts, you would have to have enough alternator to power your system, plus anything else in the car without going over it's amperage.

Sounds easy, until you try it. But the easiest way to stay above 14.1v is to do a 16V setup.

What is need to set a 16v system and will that hurt anything or my electrical system in the truck?

  19. Ok my friends I have decided to run two alternators 250 or more. As far as the amps still kicking that issue around and wondering if I should just run one amp or two for daily drive, but I want to have enough bang if some wants to challenge me or having my lights dimming when I turn it up loud.

Now thats what I was thinking but I thought that that might be to hard to do or would hurt something. If it is possible I would like to do it if I don't have to add a second alt but I think that adding a second alt having about 500 to 600 amps should be enought I'm thinking.

Dose any one know the ampage draw for two saz-3000d and 2 IA 40.1
