    Quick Q.

Well .125 is an 1/8" of an inch not 1/16" so 11.125 is 11 1/8"

    Q12 or SSD12

Will be giving either one 1100 watts of a memphis Belle Go with a Q12 (stock) or SSD12 with copper coils and the BP option? I'm leaning towards the SSD just cause I haven't tried it and I've owned a Q12 (and loved it) but you know gotta try something new sometimes.

    Q12 or SSD12

Yes the Q12 did do well off that amp when I had one. That is why I'm considering one again, I was just looking to try something different and get opinions on differences between the beefed up SSD and the stock Q.

    Q12 or SSD12

Well is that important in this situation, the BP option will increase power handling 200-500 Watts depending on the application.

    Q12 or SSD12

Well I would save a few bucks anyway, 25 dollars to be exact with the SSD and the options, that helps, but I think its wanting to try something different and I keep searching and reading about the ssd and the options and I like it. What advantages does the Q have over the beefed up SSD? Is it louder, lower, more accurate?

    Q12 or SSD12

I guess I should say that whichever sub I get will be in 1 cube sealed enclosure. (after disp.) Still the Q? But why not the SSD (with options)?

    Q12 or SSD12

Why do you suggest that specifically over the SSD?

    Want a 12 again

I just sold my Q12 (and a 15), I bought and installed 2 Rl-i8's and they sound great, but I just miss that deep loud low sound from a 12. The Rl-i's are little monsters don't get me wrong and they get low, but they're 8's, impressive as they may be, I don't know I just miss the Q12. I got rid of it due to space limitations in my truck. But I would be willing to give up that space again, in a small sealed enclosure. Now I was also looking at the TC-3000, I'm just skeptical of TC's CS and lack of info about the subs. The site shows the older 3k's and on the forum the new ones are talked about but very limited info and stock and they will be producing another batch of different ones blah blah blah. Even though I would like to try out a new sub like the 3000, I'm just not sure what I would recieve as far as current batch, or if they are even in stock or if there was a problem, the CS from what I've read over there is not that great, not that I know personally, but I don't think I want to find out. I guess there is not real question in this thread, just looking for comments about my obsession with constantly buying and trying different sub(s). Will I ever be happy?? I should have never sold the Q12.

    Want a 12 again

I know, Like I said, I called TC and they had 3k's and 2k's in stock, TC just seems a little shaky to me, I just don't want any issues or buy one and then who knows. With Fi, I know what I'm getting and it's good and there will be no issues that won't be handled immediately and perfectly with impeccable service.

    Want a 12 again

Do the RL-i8's shine in a ported enclosure?, I would only have room to port one if I made a ported enclosure, and I think that 2 sealed would be louder than one ported with the power that I am able to provide it/them. The RL-i8's are in a cube shared, this is a rough estimate because of the wierd angles and fiberglass involved. I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy another Q12, I already got down a 1 cube box from my attic. I think I'll keep one or both of the RL-i's and put one or both in the house.

    Want a 12 again

Ouch, I know man, please don't beat me up over it. JK. I know dumb move, as soon as it sold, I went, "Oh MY WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!! NOOOOOO!!!!!!" But I just called TC Sounds and the TC-3000 and 2000 12's are in stock right now. I am half tempted to try one. Someone talk me out of it!!! Why shouldn't I try one??

    Want a 12 again

before i sold it it was in a 2.3 tuned to 32hz, sounded fantastic. I also had it in a 1.25 sealed and that sounded great as well. If I order another one, I'll put it in 1 cube with polyfill, possibly inverted to save space.

    Got my RL-i8's (2) :)

Thanks Mike for all the help. I got one thing to say about Mike and Soundsplinter BAD ASS service and BAD ASS little (beefy) 8's. I got my subs delivered in one frickin day! Told Mike I wanted two on Monday night, sent him the money on Tuesday night, order confirmed and sent out Wednesday and Thursday I come home from work and they are on my porch. Now that is top notch.

    Help with Decision - 8's

Little run down, in the last 5-6 years it was 1 JL 8w3v whatever 1 JL 8w7 2 eD 10o's 1 12-claw magnum 1 12 type R (just to try and torture) 1 12 ascendant av 1 12 Mag 1 Q12 1 Q15 I know I'm forgetting a few that I've owned, installed and sold But it seems I've come full circle, back to 8(s) I'm looking at either 2-sealed rl-i8 or 1 ported The vehicle is a 2002 ford F-150 super crew and I want my seats back in it and I know I can stick 8's under the seat. The AMP is an older model Memphis Belle, that will deliver 1100@1ohm or 600@2ohm or 400@4ohm. So the question is, is SS the way to go and is it 1 ported or 2 sealed for me? I'm not sure exactly how much room is under my seat or how much I can squeeze by raising my seats a little and using glass as a bottom. Guessing I would say I could squeeze maybe 1.5 cubes gross.

    Just checking
  20. I'm sure I won't be dissapointed with the new one, but if the claw is in perfect working condition and I sold it for a new one, how big of a differance is there? I would rather send in the claw and get it a face lift with all new SID2 parts, but I'm sure that would cost consideralbly more that a new one and more than I got. I'm also considering it just to get something new. I tried an avalanche, did not compare, type r (just cause) sounded good, but not a mag. But in order to get a new SID2, the claw would have to be sold. Hmmmm what to do.......

    My new babies!

Just an interesting story sorta on/off topic. I know the story is old but so what. It's interesting that the feds would "raid" a cable/wire company. http://www.stereophile.com/news/091304taralabs/
