  1. First i wanna say thnx to all those who helped me out. Things went great when i adjusted my gain with the dmm at 38.7 volts :)

Here R my voltage readings as of 2 days ago. Idle with music off 14.16 volts

    voltageidle.jpg

And When i was playing the song BME click by lil john at volume 46 out of 62 the voltage dropped to 12.39 and the sub was cutting out a bit but was realived after i gave it throttle to approx 2500RPM's

Here are the knobs of my amp Set to 38.7 volts to power y 12" L7 DVC 4ohm wired to parallel

Here are the settings of my headunit, Oh and i left my preset equalizer set on flat before i made these adjustments to the stereo.

Well thats it for my results. THNX again for all feedback. I can hear better smooth sounding base and it can get loud :) . Id recommend everyone to adjust your gain settingds with a dmm. Results are great and can save you moiney because you might think a heavy duty alternator will fix your voltage probloms when in reallity your amp is clippin. Thats causing all this sub cutting off noise. My only concerns now is the fact that I have to give it some gas when im playing music when the car is at idle so it cannot cut off. Is this an easy fix?? Or how do i go about that

  2. her is the deal... Volktage readings were tested on the kidcker amps power and ground cables. At idle with music all the way down 13.94 volts-14.19 volts With the music on at idle its 12.94 volts. On the song "i put on for my city" When it hit the hook the bass dropped to 11.89 volts and sub was cutting off, Other than that it sounds alot better with less cutting out except on that part where the voltage drops that low. Reving the car at 3000rpm's the sub still cut out with readings of 12.98. Tests were done daytime like around 3:00p.m. headlights wrere off and all doors wee closed so dome light was also off. What do you guys think??

  3. Hip Hop plays in the 30-40hz region so tune anywhere in that area and you will be happy! Give us some goals and expectations you're looking at achieving with this system.

I think ill just stick to 32hz, the car will be a civic sedan for my bro's car & for my car it's a blazer "suv".

we are both each going for the 12' inch sub just to have a little bump in the trunk ;)

im not quite sure how many cubic feet to go with on the box. suggestions would be great :)

  4. i have a 08zx750.1 kicker mono amp and i have been looking into the ia lethal injection sub but not sure what type of inclosure to go with. If you are using this sub what spec inclosure do you recommend im looking with going with a porter box but unsure what port tune and size.According to reaserching 32hz sounds good but is it good for my type of music hip-hop/trance your input is appreciated.

  5. As for my gain it is at 50%, bass boost is turned all the wayu down. On my head unit the loudness is off and bass boost is at 0. I will double check my grounds and see what i can find. My powr cable that runs to the rear is slightly pinched but is only pinching the plastic part. Its not touching the wire inside. Since i have inspected the plastic and it just tends to push it together a bit but i can still swivel the wire. As for my battery i have checked the volts with the car off and it is at 12.6volts i belive. and as for my belt i have heard it sqeel at times... hmm... can that be a problom?? Thnx for the feed back.

  6. I wanted to take a bit of your time if you dont mind cause i need some help. The only difference is your making about 19,000 more watts compared to what i have LOL sad to say im having voltage drop, sub bass cuttin off when im at idle and when driving at night it tends to cut off when im bumpin it decently loud. I have a 2001 blazer with the oem alternator 1 optima redtop battery and the big 3 upgrade using 1/0 oxygen free tsunami compotition power cable. The problom im having is that when I have the car with the engine on and I play music decently loud I notice that the voltage drops to about 12 volts. I was hoping you guys could help me out. I have one 4awg kicker power cable running from the battery to the rear to a distrubuter block that splits to 2 amps which are 08 ZX 750.1 kicker mono amp for my sub (4ohm DVC 12" L7 kicker). the other amp is the cadence exinith at 4ohm and this is for my front stage components. Another question: the fuse that I have by my battery is a 120a and the 2 fuses in the distrubeter block are 80a for the kicker amp and 80a for the cadence amp. Not sure if im using the right fuses if it matters. Hope to here from you soon. Oh by the way I got my alteranater and battery tested by a local auto parts and they are both working fine according to them. Hope to here from you soon. THNX 4 your time.

  7. Yeah it's almost the same thread Lol... I guess I need to work on my box. Any other suggestions on how I should design my box? I don't want to f*** up again, I actually paid $100 for this box I have. If I get some idea of what kind of box to build I can try to make one with a friend... It will be a mission, but possible ;) Thanks for the input, more would be great :)

  8. I currently have a 12" L7 kicker DVC 4ohm With a 3.75^ 3.0cubic feet at 35hz enclosure. Im loooking into getting a subwoofer that can sound decently loud but CLEAN. The amp i have is a kicker mono amp 08 ZX 750.1. It is 2ohm stable. According to its birth sheet if i can remember correctly, it was putting out 823 rms watts. I was looking into the 12 inch lethal injection or the flat line but not sure their diffrences or what each one of these is ment for, what are your suggestions? I am a noob to this car audio stuff and dont really know what is what. Since i am looking for something that can get decently loud but soun clean. Im planning to go ported not sure how big... nor porttune but the music i listen to is hip-hop/trance/sometimes rock. I just want a sub that will pick up bass notes pretty good. I really hope i can get some help before i make an error on what i am buying. Feedback is appriiciated. T H A N K S (:

  9. That doesn't have anything to do with SQ and is 100% box dependent. The L7 can EASILY play whatever notes you are referring to. A better description of which ones it doesn't play would help a ton. You should really download some test tones and tell us where the roll off occurs.

What type of test tones should i download?? Kinda new to this stuff dont know what to downloa. Links would be great, or if you cannot provide link, info of what i should download would be great :)

  10. The base the L7 hits is pretty strong... When i play some songs like bia bia by lil john it doesnt pick up that bass note I just wish my L7 could pick up more notes. I was thinking of dropping the port down to 30-32hz but been told it is not going to make much of a difference...I was also told to throw a towel inside the port to get clean air bass but i was never told how to do it "walked through it". I have a smaller enclosure that is 14.50W, 14.50D, 16H. The port size is 12" length, 1.50W and 10" dept I was thinking about trying this enclosure but i have to make time to make this happen

  11. It will kinda be hard for me to build a new box since i dont have the knowlage and tools to do it. I have been recommended this fiq sub witch is the reason why i was leaning towards it. I have been looking at youtube vids of fiq subs and it seems to do pretty well compared to my L7 and other L7 vids on youtube. If i was to get a other box made for my L7 what specs should i get it to?? so i can know what i am looking to get myself into. THNX

  12. I currently have a 12" L7 kicker DVC 4ohm With a 3.75^ 3.0cubic feet at 35hz enclosure. Im loooking into getting a subwoofe that has good sound quality that can possibly get loud and sound clean. The amp ihave is a kicker mono amp 08 ZX 750.1. It is 2ohm stable. Accoriding to its birth sheet if i can remember correctly, it was putting out 823 rms watts I was looking into the 12" JL audio W6 v2. BUT I was looking at the 12" Fi Q So i was leaning towards it... My car is daily driven and im not sure about the options for the Fi Q sub. I am a noob to this car audio stuff and dont really know what is what. Since i am looking for SQ i dont know wether i should go sealed or ported. The music i listen to is hip-hop, trance and sometimes rock. Im also wondering what size i shall keep the enclosure if i was to go ported and i wansnt sure what Hz to port the tune at. I really hope i can get some help before i make an error on what i am buying. Another thing, there is a fiq dual 1ohm and dual2ohm, My amp is 2ohm stable so what would i have to get?? Feedback is appriiciated. THNX

  13. Im planning on purchasing a single 12" SSD not sure what to get DVC1 or DVC2, i have a 08 ZX 750.1 kicker mono (2ohm stable). Now for the axcual question i listen to rap/hip hop, trance, and alternative rock and i have no clue what so ever on the enclosure that i need to use for the type of music i listen to. I have no idea on tuning ports. I would really appriciate if poeple could help me out to get what im supposed to use. Im looking to get a ported enclosure and this will be used in a Blazer(SUV). BTW how many cubic feet would be good for the sub. Im not looking into getting a humungous box in my cargo area. THNX
