    Anyone tried IXL 10 I.B.?

Basically the reason the question was asked is because a mate is determined to have this setup but is yet to pick what drivers to use. He heard the IXL10 in my ported setup and was curious that is all. RE: the Ots and power handling, I saw that before but thought I'd ask if anyone has actually tried it just in case it worked well. Thanks for the input guys (I really do appreciate it), it is decided that it is a bad itea anyway! (Funnily enough!). Jono
  3. As the thread title gives away I'm just wondering if anyone has actually tried the IXL10 IB? or if they would even work in that setup. Basically I've got a mate building a comp SQ car and wants either 8 or 10in drivers under the front seats in IB (yep venting outside the car) lots of metal cutting on this one. T.S. specs for the 10 aren't perfect but thought someone might have tried anyway and could give an opinion. Any thoughts yay or nay are appreciated. Thanks, Jono

    Anyone tried IXL 10 I.B.?

Thanks for the info re:subs.... As for daily, no not daily but still occasional use. He intends to create suitable protection for them though.

    Anyone tried IXL 10 I.B.?

Cool, he's yet to decide what amp to use but I doubt they'll be getting much more than 2-300wrms each as he's using all ol'school amps (orion xtreme 800.2, Earthquake 4300TXO's, M44, Rockford 100ix etc....

    IXL18.2.2 Availibility

I think the OP is asking "is the IXL18.2.2 available or is there no stock? as it is not listed on your website"

    Sub Upgrade Question

Any reason specifically sealed? I went from a 12in driver to the IXL10 and it was good sealed but MUCH better ported, still detailed but with better impact thats for sure. As a plus you can get a decent ported box to be approx 1cube total before ports and the sub so no large boxes! However the box does need to be built and tuned properly obviously. I've only got mine on about 450wrms @ 4ohm at the moment and its great. So no *real* need for more power. Jono

    ixl10 goodness

Hi all, Well the goodness just keeps on getting better. 0.75cubes ported to 30hz........ Its "louder" when tuned to about 34/35/36hz but I've got extended bass now and its really really nice (removable ports are cool but darn ugly!). Forget sealed, this thing rocks in a ported box (I know I know...... I did comment on how good it was sealed but...... even better ported).... Once again very happy with the sub. Great response and output for a very well priced 10inch. Jono

    ixl10 goodness

As promised.... Jono PS. Got my MLi mids in the doors just before the weekend...... Still really getting them tuned 100% but they certainly have alot of impact while playing relatively high. The IXL10 just keeps growing on me, a great little sub........ Although after 4hours of continuous playing hiphop my mono @ 1ohm was trying to be a bbq under my seat so I might drop it down to 4ohm on long trips.

    ixl10 goodness

Well we'll see if I continue getting good scores for subbass in the next local SQ comp! (Judges liked the sound of the VDO alot). The IXL provides better low end feel than the old VDO 12inch while staying composed which is good. Although I do plan on stuffing the box full of dacron and seeing how that changes the sound (it "evened out" the sound of the last sub if that makes sense). LOL Thanks, ok maybe a few too many..... But it certainly won't go anywhere quickly! Jono

    ixl10 goodness

Doneski...... And thanks guys solid is one word!! I estimate 30kgs when loaded (as I carried it to the car!). Initial thoughts... Currently running at 1Ohm and loving the sound! Easily as good (musically) as my previous VDO Dayton (Peerless XLS12), with more time and tuning I suspect it will blend perfectly with my front stage. Certainly is much more controlled at higher volume when turning up the settings for daily driving than the previous and doesn't miss the lows either.... Very impressed thus far. Jono

    ixl10 goodness

Well after being inspired I finally got around to *almost* finishing my sealed box for the IXL10..... Final coat of resin is drying inside, I'm soldering the wiring, and I've got the carpet to cover it sitting infront of me................. but I've just realised that I mean to put two bracing posts (one on either side of the sub).... Bugger more to do. Should be a nice strong 0.7cubes with either 450w @4ohm or 1000w@1ohm. Jono

    Mach 5 in Oz

Hi Sam, Ha, that thing is freakin' heavy (twice the weight of my current 12inch). Very solid build, and just plain sexy! I'm in the process of making a 0.85cube box which I'll pad down to 0.7cube with sand bags and run sealed until I get my external port built then add it on. It'll be ugly but hopefully it'll sound great. Thanks for the great service btw. Jono
