  1. Limon-aid...i thought it might help...just made it worse.

I always though heart burn was too much acid or acidic food sturing up the acid so it lapped agianst the esophogaus... that is what they say in the commercials :D:lol:

Yes, that is what heartburn "is" - but its cause is indigestion. Indigestion can be linked with a lack of stomach acid. Most "heartburn" foods cause the stomach to dramatically increase acid production - causing pain and discomfort in either the esophagus and sometimes duodenum/intestines.

All "antacids" do is help neutralize the stomach's acid - temporarily relieving discomfort/pain - the body recognizes the drop in acidity and naturally continues with normal digestion by re-secreting more stomach acid.

The vinegar remedy works because vinegar (acetic acid) is much less acidic than stomach acid (hydrochloric acid) and does not neutralize stomach acid. The body subsequently reduces production of more acidic (and discomfort-causing) stomach acid.

Chronic heartburn is most commonly linked to dietary isues/problems. Anyone experiencing chronic heartburn is likely aware of which foods/drinks are the culprit.

    Things that can cause indigestion:

    Smoking

    Alcohol

Coffee, tea, cola, and other caffeinated and carbonated beverages

    Chocolate

    Citrus fruits and juices

Tomatoes and tomato sauces (such as pizza and pasta sauce)

    Spicy foods

    Peppermint and spearmint

    Dry foods - peanuts

Fatty foods such as ice cream

  2. Could be galbladder failure. That started with my dad in his early 30's and didnt quit untill it got the the point heartburn lasted for weeks, nto days. Then he went to the docter and they found a gallbladder stone. Had it removed and he is fine now.

    Good...glad to hear it.

I never get heartburn but when i do i feel like making myself throw up hoping it will get all the acid out.

Heartburn/indigestion is acutally caused by lack of acid. Making yourself vomit is probably one of the worst things you could do t remedy the situation. A common household cure is simply to swallow a shot of vinegar. The additional acid helps to assist your stomach in breaking food particles down, in combination to vinegar, water also helps.

  3. why does everyone think a tat should have a meaning?

Where your argument falls apart...whether or not you were being serious.

now, getting a tattoo is old and played out and those who get those now are just trying to be cool. instead they look like fools.
    Fixed

  4. I don't think the tattoo itself is a bad idea, but location is just as important as what the tattoo is. The lower back is just not a good location. Like I said before, its the tramp stamp. Is that something she wants to be associated with (whether or not that is her motivation/intention)? I would really discourage against the whole "shroom" idea. I mean she is young and it seems cool now, but think about 10 years down the road when she is married and has kids, or is pursuing a career in corporate America. Is it something still appropriate, and does it still carry the same meaning? I'm going to have to assume no. As far as the fairy is concerned, I would do some research online (Google Images is your friend) and look at some of the art that is out there, it is a stark contrast to what your rough sketch was. No. I'm not knocking your abilities, but you definitely want something that is more expressive. The suggestions made to incorporate her features/personality into the tattoo are excellent advice.

As a side note: The one thing that has honestly stopped me from getting a tattoo is finding something which will have eternal meaning. Just like your Grandfather deeply regretting his decision, you don't want the other people you care about to suffer the same fate. Then again, many people see tattoos as a form of body adornment, like jewelry, so my perspective may not be shared with the majority of 'inked' people.

  5. I'm with Eldo on this one. All deadener does is increase mass, thereby decreasing vibration. It can help to increase output, but does more to help to increase sound quality by minimizing reverberation/vibration. It would be much cheaper and easier to simply use thicker MDF in your enclosure, or add another layer of MDF.

  6. I'm not a huge fan of upward-facing enclosures. They look pretty, and although it is somewhat true that bass cannot be localized, in general I've never found it to be an optimal design. This article explains some of this in a much more technical manner than I could.

I know you are installing in a truck, but most of the same principles are apparent.

Still, I would experiment and see what sounds the best to your ears.
