  1. Did this for a friend a couple of days ago.

He got ripped off on just about everything buying from pawn shops.

    2 kicker comps

Forgot what type of lanzar amp

Using stock head unit with LO converter

Prefab box, was in a hurry and didn't want to wait the few hours it would take for me to build a box.

This was the mach up, amp was mounted and wiring was organized.

It accomplished all he wanted, which was to have some "decent high bass". But they surprised me at how low they got.

  2. I have 2 local shops. One is completely mainstream and I hate even driving past it. The second is moving in the right direction.... with some RE audio and other non mainstream brands. He said he would like to sell sundown but that there wasn't any demand for it. :(

I think if he'd pay me 5 bucks a demo I could give demos all day and increase the demand :)

  3. So i picked up my 18 inch btl with hiXM coil and cooling options(DAILY). Now for the amp. Normally i would say that i don't have the money for the SAZ-3000D, but i found it online refurbished for the same price that i can pick up the Rockford Fosgate t2001BD from sonicelectronix. I read a post from a guy who got the refurbished SAZ-3000D and he claimed that it was functionally perfect so i wouldn't mind purchasing it. both are about $560. I plan on doing all the elcetrical upgrades necessary for either of these amps (big 3, Kinetic hc2000, high output amp, all that good stuff) now my only concern is that my sub is the dual 2 ohm and i will be running it down to 1 ohm like most. But the sub is rated at 2000wrms and the SAZ-3000D puts out 3000 watts at 1 ohm and i reallllllly don't wanna blow this BTL. The Rockford Fosgate runs at 2000 watts at one ohm. I've heard really great things about both of these amps. Anyone else got anymore advice?

    thanks

Running my BTL off of a sundown audio 3000D daily giving it all it's got. No problems :)

Be smart with it and the BTL loves it.

  4. Sure you can, but you missed the main piece of information we need. What voice coil configurations did you order? D1/D2?

The result that would best fit you is to have 2 subs with 1 ohm coils. When wired correctly you will end up with a 1 ohm load. But you would have to run at 2 ohms or at .5 ohms if you only had one hooked up.

I did not order yet, and im glad you told me that. and to the other poster, Im sure i will be getting the other sub.

Just another question, when i have both subs set up and everything, am i going to need to do any upgrades to the car, i know the big 3 is a "must"

but what about the alternator? or the battery?

I want to be able to push them to their max potential.

If i need to upgrade the alternator, do i need to upgrade the battery?

or can i just get a yello top optima battery just for the amp/subs?

    thanks a bunch

I added 2 optima yellow tops to feed my SA3000D. I still have not completed big 3 as I will do this when I get my HO alt.

To answer your question, without the batteries voltage drops were dangerously low. After adding them I get fluctuations of .5 volts at full tilt. I would at least add 1 battery with at least 50 AH. But I would add as many as I could as long as I had the space and funds to do so. I don't know what kind of vehicle you have, but as long as you give the alt time to catch back up you should be fine until you do upgrade to a HO alt.

  5. Im getting 2 12 BL subs and the saz 1500d sundown.

Now i may just be getting just one sub for now cause of some money issues but wil end up getting another 12, can i hook up just one sub for now to the saz 1500d amp or no?

I do not know shit about this stuff.

    thanks

  6. BTL is built for brutality :)

I had ~3000 watts going to a pair and they handled it fine, ran fine for a few months until I sold them. This has been the case with 12 and 18 inch sets.

  7. I'd like to update this and say that the kit did arrive and was in fair condition. After opening the brown box I noticed that the seals on the hid kit were broken. Not a huge deal, I opened it up to verify everything I purchased was included. So before even touching the lights or wiring harness I read the instruction manual. The english was HORRIBLE to say the least. Many words didn't have spaces between them, and some sentences didn't even make sense. The wiring harness was very strange looking so I rearranged it and tested the lights. Despite the high pitched tone that was made from the ballasts while the HID's were warming up everything worked flawlessly. It was almost impossible to get the things into my headlight housing, there was just no easy way to get the headlight out very far. After wiring everything up and installing the lights they worked and it looks very good in my opinion. I should have sent the package back, but didn't feel like going through all that over ~100 bucks. Everything is working so far and hopefully it will continue to do so.

The purpose of buying a "more expensive" kit was to steer clear of cheap "ebay" kits. But after seeing this I might as well have bought one for ~$30.00 off of ebay.

Driving with them is interesting, not much of a viewing change. But it accomplished what I wanted, which was to add a custom look. I am a fan of the HID look.

I understand that this kit is illegal as it was not equipped with projector lenses. I did get a friend to drive by me going down the road just to see his reaction about the brightness and was told it wasn't much different than halogens. I also have not been flashed 1 time.

Just wanted to give a little review of Auto Ext and my 8000K headlights.

    Thanks.

  8. I am going to redo everything in my "christmas" build, therefore I would be building a box to meet the needs of whatever sub I got. I love my BTL, I just would like to try something else. But I hate to spend ~500-600 bucks just to "try" something. :)

Thanks for your input. I have failed for 2 weeks in trying to get ahold of Rusty @ DC electronically. Guess I'll try and call sometime this afternoon.

  9. I purchased a 8,000k HID kit for my truck off of this site this past saturday. I was emailed a tracking number, but it still just says billing information received. I have sent countless emails without reply, and was also a little worried when my invoice number was ~48 or so.

Has anyone had any experience or feedback on this site? I am considering filing a complaint if they don't answer the phone this afternoon.

    Thanks

  10. 4 btls since you have 20 fuft :)

No, but I would undoubtably go with BTLs, much more strength.

I have had experience with btl 18's, bl 12's, and bl 18's.

I can say that from my perception a BTL 18 has much more intensity than 2 BL 18's, but definitely moves less air.
