  1.   And thank Heaven for the amplifier revolution!  High powered amps from a while ago were not for the budget-minded.

don't forget high powered amps "back in da day" were HUGE!

for the under(or close to it) $200 price..the alpine type r's are a good choice...to me, equal th the vr's in sql, but maybe not quite as durable

again with the treo...the tsx series are a good "budget" sub

and diamond subs..both the m6 and cm3s....are excellent subs for around the $200 range!

    wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  2. i think ya hit the 9515 right on the head..

also..the mtx 9500 is EVERY bit as good as a idmax or same size w7..though the idmax kils them with looks(but that don't go boom does it? hehe)and it runs cheaper then the w7 and close to the same as a idmax

one sub i think u left off is the treo ss....at aroun $400 for a 15 u can get mad spl and sound good getting there in a mid sized enclosure( 2.5ft^3 tuned to 34hz is what is recommended and what i use)...

and that is my two centz

    wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  3. usaci probably....301+ modified..at least right now

memphis 1000d pushing ttwo treo ss 15's..yellow top batt and a 1 farad cap(leave me alone, i had it lying aroun :P:finger: )

if a deal goes thru....possibly 900+ mod with two memphis 1500d's and two treo ssx 15's...will need new alt and at least two batts..no cp then..hehe

but the first scenerio is the one i have now..dunno about other organizations..maybe??

    wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  4. i dunno about the sound qualities of this thing..

the 1/2" fiberboard shell....well, it's basicly thick cardboard. if any of u guys have ever been around a site where they are pouring concrete in round forms..well, that's exactly what these things are. they are called sonotubes, we use them all the time for setting "j-bolts" for lightpoles and sign poles.

the "paint" jobs are nothing more then vinyl decals

don't ever let these things get wet..hehe

Brock.........SHHHHHHH!!! u wasn't supposed to tell anyone!! i mean..i didn't tell anyone how u were there givin bj's to all the guys in the back!!!

    hehehaha :finger:

but not to worry..will take pics of the wifey's new car tomorrow and post them...yep it's a girl's car too..hehe...but not no oval buddy

    wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  7. as a general rule of thumb...winISD will give you a box tuned for sq. from there u can change the tuning, add (or subtract) box volume, port size ,etc.

what you need to do is decide what u are after more...all out spl, sql or sq. u need to take some measurements of where the box(s) are going to see how much room you have and then play around with isd some.

my personal box with 8's in it is a single, shared chamber affair, aprox 1.75ft^3(i really ought to measure the damn thing..hehe) with a round port tuned to about 45hz. this was done because at the time i had a factory cassette deck and they won't play below 40 hz or so.

oh yeah..in general, lower tuning produces better sq..while higher tuning produces more spl. also remember smaller boxes help a subs suspension and aid in higher power handling.

    hope that helps

  8. i would take the 9500 over the w7. i just recently heard a single 12 and it sounded every bit as good as any w7 (i have only heard a 13w7 off a 1000/1 jl) and was almost as loud, considering it was being pushed by a smaller amp (mtx 6500)

all things equal...the 9500 can go head to head spl and sq with a comparable w7 and is cheaper....but i give the looks to the w7, installability(is that even a word?) to the 9500

    anyway..u get the point..hehe

but i'll take my treo ss's over all(seeing how they are installed in my truck, what choice do i have..hehe)
