  1. Interested in the morels cuz I heard a couple reviews saying they're more of a warmer speaker and that's what I'm looking for. I heard the polks can be tinny and bright and that's not the direction I'm trying to go. Like you guys said I'm just gonna have to try both out and see which ones float my boat.

  2. I figured that would, but basically I guess what I was looking for was someone who maybe heard both the polks and the morels and could tell me whether it'd be worth it to give them a try since I already have the polks in possession.

  3. Ok a lil background, puttin together a system for my rsx and so far I've got 2 18" Xcons (putting them in separate sealed boxes because both won't fit in the car without folding the seats down) with either a crescendo 3500 our a used saz 3500. For the front I've got polk audio mm 6.5" components and for the back seats mm 5 and a quarter coax. For electrical I've got a mechman 270 alt and two xs batteries.

My question is whether I should get a set of morel maximo 6's and a set of morel 5c's. I've seen a lot of people say good things about the morel's I'm just wondering if it would be worth it since I already have the polks. I would try both to see which ones I like and sell the others.

  4. That's not what I feel I need, it's what I want. I've been into car audio since the day I got my license and have had systems in all my three of my cars except for this one. I wanted to go big in this one and trust me, I know what I'm getting myself into. I've been doing research for years and music is my life. I've been playing the piano since I was 8 and also play the guitar, the violin and basically anything with strings in or on it. Not to mention I'm a bass-a-haulic just as I'm sure most everyone else is on these forums.lol

  5. Thanks for the suggestions Sir-Lancelot. For some reason I knew I could count on you to hop on topic with some input.lol That's the direction I think I'm gonna run tho, is the used Sundown. I'm just waiting for the right deal to pop up. I think 700 is a lil steep too. What do you guys think about the aq3500's? I've seen quite a few people use them but I haven't heard anything good about them. I really wanna go brand new crescendo but from lookin around other forums I don't think they're new BC line is EVER gonna come out.lol

  6. I need an amplifier suggestion for my 2 18 XCON D1's. As I said in the title I'm on a budget but not on a ridiculous one. I know I'm gonna have to spend money, I just would really like to stay under 800. So far I've been keeping my eye on the forums for a used Sundown 3000 or 3500 and I've also been lookin at the AQ3500 and the Crescendo BC3500 (if they ever come out). I'm not opposed to under powering them either but I don't wanna go under 2500 rms. So far my set-up is gonna consist of:

    Yellow top under the hood

    Second Battery in the back

    H/O Alt

    Polk MM6501 - Front comps

    RF 6.5 - Back coaxs

RF t600-4 - For door and back seat speakers

    2 x 18" XCON D1's in a 9 cu sealed enclosure

And all of this is going into an 02 Acura RSX. :)

All your guys help is greatly appreciated.

  7. The hatch has about 8 cubes of space without blocking my rear view. If needed I can lay the back seats down and extend the box out more. Who wants to sit in the cramped back seat of a coupe anyways.lol

  8. I'm ordering the other two 18's off of Sir-Lancelot tonight and putting both sealed in an Acura RSX. :)

Still have a lot more equipment to order but it should be an interesting build.
