    10" Sub for truck

I was just workin on a 2004 and the mounting depth for the back seat was 5 7/8" in the front and something like 4 1/2" in the back. I wasn't able to use any of the options listed because of that. Although i don't know if something changed for the '05 model?
  2. I don't have a sign out button either. Will it sign it out automatically after awhile?
  3. We are having no issues on our end with the HOTS. When you mean add friends, do you mean the little "+" sign below the users avatar or invite friends? I'm refering to where it shows your user name, and yes the "invite friends" button. I have the "manage friends" and "manage ignored users" but nothing after that. On the pic u have at the top of the thread it shows you have that "invite friends" for the contest so that's why i was wondering if you had to have a certain post count to do that or something.
  4. Does there have to be a certain post amount before you can add friends. I don't have an invite friends link. Also my comp freezes up everytime i go into HOTS i don't know if that's the site or just my comp but just letting you know

I know this threads a little older but you didn't buy the terminals did you?!? After all that shit talk I would have said, "Welp see ya later!" and bought them somewhere else

    IA 187 10" opinions?

it's too bad you don't have just a little more mounting depth. The dcon would have been a good option. Anyway my dad has the 187 10" in his truck. He likes it. I was surprised of it's output. I wasn't expecting much from it but i stood corrected. It's hard to give an opinion of it, but I believe you'll be happy with it. It's all subjective though so take it with a grain of salt

    mb quart amps

I just installed the discus in my gf's truck. It's a great budget amp. If he's planning on going active the crossovers are a little low but it's no problem if he has a front stage that can be crossed over low. If not then forget what i said.

    Big Truck Big Bass

Woooo! That's a sweet build log. Nice job! Gotta love the silverado builds. Duramax correct? I wish i had one but i had a hard time giving up the 6.0's sweet sounding exhaust. Again very nice
  9. I almost had a hear attack a second ago when i went to the ssa home page. My speaker volume was up pretty high and all the sudden i hear gunshot sounds. Haha damn fireworks. Has that happened to anyone yet?
  10. I prefer A/B to class D with active front stage. I feel there is a difference and i'd like to see legitimate tests done to prove if there is a difference between them. I compared a couple class D amps to some A/B ones. The one off the top of my head was the Arc XXD 4080, the JL 450/4, Arc's SE 4100, and there were some others. Passive there was no audible difference. There was an audible difference active however and i still like the A/B better but the majority of my decision making is like i said before. Price, aesthetics, features, and build quality.
  11. That's taking it pretty far...haha. But whatever makes you happy. Personally other than the Hifonics, Alphasonik and MB Quart I would use any of those amps. Not saying they're bad, i just don't prefer them. If your running passive there won't be hardly any audible difference probably none at all between those amps. If active it would be possible mostly because of different features.
  12. Honestly those are things that most consumers look for. The majority of it is just marketing. Will there be an audible difference between one and another by minor changes in specs? most likely not. The most important things to look at are: price, features, aesthetics, and build quality
  13. what? If you want high efficiency amps, you may want to look else where. Also, any dampening factor over 20 is fine. There was an article somewhere on here about dampening factors. OP, search it in the technical section and read it. I shouldn't have used the word "efficient". I apologize for the incorrect terminology. Class A/B usually have a higher sound quality but they waste more power doing it than a class D does. I'll have to look up that thread as well
  14. I look for a high efficiency amp. Majority of the time a class A/B amp is more efficient. I also look for a higher damping factor. To help you understand what that is i suggest you search the term. It will definately help you know a little about amps. Depending on if you want to go active or not you would also want to look into good X-over capability. I usually look for an amp with 10-5k hz if possible with 12,18,24 db slope.
  15. Everyone's doing that here. Water and snow keep your sub cool. The only thing we do different is we mount our amps on the roof and the comps in the side mirrors.

    What is your favorite breakfast?

My mother always makes this sweet breakfast roll. Basically it's a bunch of rolls that rise together in a bundt pan. She pours this carmelized cinnamon sugar over it and adds chopped pecans on top of that. They're called "sticky buns" and they are soooo good. If you google it, it'll show you kind of what they look like probably a recipe too.

    Enclosure design programs

Is that software free? I have WinISD but far as enclosure design i use just pencil and paper. I have to learn the hands on way haha...which is a little more expensive.

    Enclosure for door speakers?

I have installed the C5's before and i believe JL recommends they be installed IB. The qts i believe, is .6 something. They recommend the door is well deadened and sealed as said before) to achieve good sound quality. Hope this helps...

Opinions on sealed box for 15" XCONS

I'd be terrified to be your speakers....anyway on a serious note. I have my Icon sealed and i like it very much. All i listen to is rock so it has a very nice tight sound. Transient response is one of the best i've seen. For that listening environment i couldn't ask for more. I'm sure it's the same with the Xcon

    steve 09 silverado crew cab

The link for fullsizechevy.com refers to the 99-07 classic rear seat's and is also the extended cab if you haven't looked already. I did a seat lift on my '04 that worked awesome but it's a different for the newer models. I also have an '09 crew and i haven't thought about how i'm going to lift the seat yet and honestly it's hard for me to take apart my new truck...lol. It also looks more difficult to lift than the older version. I hope you'll let us know if you lift it and your results.
  21. I believe the original SAE line had a problem with vibrations if i remember right. So it definately wasn't good to have the amp not mounted. I believe jacob said he took care of that problem in the V.2. I'm not saying that's the definite problem but just something to think about. Check connections first like originally was said. Good luck
  22. Man that sucks...I hope they catch the prick. I just thought of a similar design about a week ago for under the seat of my gf's silverado but it'll be with the dcons probably. And majaority of it will be fiberglass. I'm trying to decide what to do for a center piece. I'm probably going to paint it zebra stripe or something.I knew the design had been done before and you achieved it with so much detail. Great work. And again i hope they find it.

Will orders made through the SSA store be shipped directly to us from Sundown or will they ship to SSA first?

    CUSTOMER FEEDBACK SECTION for SSA

I've ordered a few things through SSA and awaiting the new Sundown 1200d. Everything i've ordered was shipped fairly quick for going all the way across the U.S. Customer service is AWESOME. I always got a response with hardly a delay. You guys have great gear for a great price. I'm throwing out recomendations like crazy. I wish there was a SSA store here in town. I'd be there almost on a daily basis. I'll say it again; great job, keep it up.

    Our new slogan.

Before people want to send their gear in for warranty you should have them do an "Audio IQ Test". That'd cure a lot of problems...haha
