  1. Hmm interesting. Well I'm running everything active now and my deck doesn't have T/A but I know I will be looking at an external processor in the future so I can live with it like that for awhile. After I finish my enclosure I'll have to jump on this idea.

  2. I saw his video with the Yukon I believe a while back. I think it'd be a pretty good idea since most the features on the in-dash I want, I don't need. Radio, navi, and Bluetooth are things I could go without but I want a touch screen for aesthetics

  3. The few installs I have seen with them they have been installed with a headunit located somewhere else in the dash. A few guys on here have done it. Epicenter designs is one that comes to mind.

The h2? I thought that had a head unit...I'll have to go back and check it out

  4. Ive been playing with the thought lately as installing an iPad in the dash of my truck. I was looking at an in dash unit but I can get and iPad in for like $500 total installed. I don't want to have a head unit along with the iPad, just the iPad with the adapter that allows for charging with audio/video rca's.

Here's some of the questions I was trying to figure out.

Has anyone ever attempted this or talked with someone who has?

Although not the best I can use processing on the iPad itself. I should be able to connect directly to the amp with the rca's correct?

I may be missing some things but it seems like if you tapped the remote in with the ignition and rca's worked that there'd be no problems?

  5. I realized i never said the build was going slow. I've been doing too many other things and have only been able to work on it a few minutes at a time. I should probably be working on it instead of being on here but just giving an update.

I have gotten a little further. I have the port almost complete except for the top. I sprayed sealer on it and i'm ready for primer. I also got a the braces up for one of the baffles. I don't have pics at the moment but i'll post some later.

I never said what the finish will look like. The top and port will be marble painted and the rest will be black, probably textured.

I put the xcons in a temporay prefab box (i HATE prefab boxes but it doesn't sound THAT bad for what it is) The Xcons are AMAZING!! I absolutely LOVE them!! Jacob hooked me up with a new SAX-1200, so thanks to him for trading in my SAE-1200 with burnt resistors/caps. Great customer service there!! I recommend everyone consider his great customer service when deciding on an amp to purchase. You won't get that at many other companies

  6. I'd try using a charger/maintainer with the desulfation/recondition feature. It's saved a many of my batteries

Yeah my charger doesn't have that lol.

i'll let the battery guru's chime in then...haha. I always set my charger up at a constant voltage of like 14.2, if the battery got hot i'd disconnect it. I kept doing that process, put a load on it, and charge it again.

I just had a battery go bad on me and wouldn't you know it...the charger's missing

  7. I assume you haven't heard back from Jacob yet then ( sundownz@sundownaudio.com )

I did but he stopped replying :ughdunno:

It's been like 5 days since i got a response so i was just going to get a Crescendo bc3500 and let you know about the 1200d but if it's under warranty might as well get it fixed and get a new amp later on when i planned to

  8. Thanks! i'm not real happy with how it looks right now. I realized the port surface area was a little small and had to open it up a little bit.

Idk why my pics come out sideways on here...they load to the computer and photobucket the right way... :ughdunno:

  9. Got a little more done. It's kind of going slow but i'm in no hurry really. I still need a new amp and haven't decided which one i'm getting yet.

I tried kerfing this stuff but it was not having it. Idk if it's because you can't kerf 1/2" or if it's because it's been sitting around forever, but i've never had trouble with 3/4" before...so :ughdunno: Anyway so that's why it's fiberglassed instead.

On top of all this my router is missing... :suicide-santa: so my corners are done by hand and my baffles are hackjobbed with the jigsaw.

Enough talk here's a couple more pics

  10. i played the korn album and it's just not that loud, maybe i have 128kpbs files or something, sounds like 192 to me though. maybe tomorrow i can get some videos if the weather isn't too bad.

It doesn't HAVE to be Korn. If you find/know some rock with good basslines then make a video. I just mentioned Korn because i thought their new album might hit the lows well but i don't have my subs in so it's difficult to request a specific song that does hit hard

  11. i'll get more vids with my wider lens soon, any requests on songs? kind of tired playing all the same songs

Do you listen to any rock? i'd be interested in seeing a vid of that if possible

oh yeah, i actually listen to rock 95% of the time lol. but to be honest, i've been listening to country music a lot lately, when i say country, i mean old country from the 70's and 80's hahahaha.

what kind of rock music? i have killswitch engage, parkway drive, finch, underoath, h.i.m., red hot chili peppers and a lot more

Idk i listen to all those but i don'r recall many songs from them with decent bass notes. I was wondering if any of Korns newer stuff had good bass lines. Um like Narcissistic Cannibal, Get up, or any of the songs on the new album. Im not picky. Choose something, i'll be thankful either way
