  1. Thanks guys!

looking great so far. XCONs have made it to AK!

Am I the first one here that got them? I loved the ICON!! It was definitely my favorite driver by far. I'm sure the XCON will step that up even further.

This build was a little more difficult being that I couldn't do all the fiberglass at once. Normally I'd build the frame and then fiberglass. This was opposite. This was a fiberglass base I was using for my ex's truck and ended up making it work for my build. Kind of a PITA but it'll work out

  2. I may delve in to the doors after this, idk yet. I ran out of resin last night and just picked up some more so hopefully I'll get some more done tonight and be able to post up some more pics for yuh guys

  3. Eh i thought i might as well post up my crappy work so far. I am by no means the kind of person that tries to make shit look good from start to finish. As long as it looks great at finish, functions properly, and is pretty well built then i'm ok with it

This is going in a 2004 Silverado ECSB. Total vol. will be est. @ 5.2. I'm going to tune lower than i want @ 31hz and expect it to be more at 33-34hz just because that always seems like what happens and that's where i prefer it anyway.

Yes that is 1/2" mdf. I had a whole sheet sitting in the shop so i'm going to use that and fiberglass over it so it'll be closer to 3/4. The subs are mounted up and port facing forward with a flanged opening

  4. Haha you know that when they deliver something that looks like it fell out of the truck at 50mph they don't want to stick around for people to bitch at them. They get enough from the wife.

Yeah it's a $10 gasket I'm not going to cry about it too much. I'm more irritated that I spend $360 just for shipping, so naturally I would like to think id get my product delivered to me undamaged, but unfortunately it doesn't work that way

  5. I didn't notice it till after the driver left and i put it down in the living room. I guess i should've looked at both boxes thoroughly right when i grabbed them but i was too tired and wasn't thinking about it. Yeah only the gasket got damaged from everything i could see, fortunately.

I'm building a new enclosure for them and i'll post up pics when i'm done. I'm about halfway through the build right now. I'm working on painting my brother in laws truck and building the box at the same time, so i've been constantly busy. It's going to be pretty fancy. Lots of fiberglass and paint. I don't know if i'll do part carpet or not. It's about 4.5 cubes ported and aiming for 32hz. They're going under the rear seat in my silverado.

I still have to get my new amp as well so it'll be a couple weeks probably

  6. So i was waiting patiently for the Xcons to arrive. After working for 26 hours i had to stay awake to make sure they made it

into the house safely. Of course i got the same ol' thing from the driver, "This thing is heavy as hell" talk. As i put down the second sub i noticed some prick penetrated the box!! In any other scenario this would be normal but not this time.

    This is what i saw...

My first thought was,"OH SHIT!! that better have not gone through the surround!!"

  7. Had no clue they were coming. Nice little surprise :drink40:

oh i guess mine DID ship. i had to click on details to see that. They're supposed to be here monday so I'll see how they sound monday night hopefully

What type/size of enclosure are you putting them in?

  8. So i hooked up the amp to see if there were any problems. It worked fine from what i could tell. No protect light and it had output, but i'd like to at the very least replace the cap.

It looks like shipping to DB-R is about $50 regularly, but it's almost double that due to it being the holiday season. By the time i sent the amp out, get it fixed, and shipped back i would have rather just bought a new amp. I'm going to upgrade to the 2500 soon so i just want the 1200 to last me till then.

I appreciate the responses i got. Jacob sent you a PM about the v2 board and cap

  9. So before i decided to put the amp back in the truck after its been out for a year, i decided to just check out the board for shits and giggles, and saw this

So i want to get this fixed but I don't have a repair shop near me and it'd cost an arm an a leg to ship it somewhere in the lower 48 to get fixed. If i were to ship it out i might as well just get a new amp, so i'd like to attempt to fix this myself. Idk if the resistors are bad for sure as i cant get to the other side with the dmm to test them.

If i could get any kind of help such as where to get parts or anything informative i'd greatly appreciate it. I see on one of the other caps it says "222j 630v" so im pretty sure thats one thing i need...? idk i'm kind of lost in this area but i can solder so i have thing going for me.

I haven't hooked up the amp recently but it worked fine when i took it out. I'm continuously trying to find so more info on this and i might as well throw this topic out and hopefully get a little guidance in the right direction
