-
Pssshh don't even worry about it, it'll buff right out Trust me..... serious note, I'm really sorry.....accidents are no fun no matter what. Have you talked to insurance? Do you think you can fix it, or would you have to take it to a shop?
-
Haha honestly the Focals blew me away. It was like, "Wow! So thats what the music is really supposed to sound like!" But those are the only decent quality comps i've heard.....

Should i add the ID CTX65CS comps to the list?

125 in a Honda Odyssey didn't mean to actually.....I owned a 85 Camry POS that scared me at anything over 60, then was driving home late one night in the minivan with no one on the highway except me......saw 125 on the dash and freaked out. God those things ride soooooo smoooooooooooth....... -
Which SSA Sub would fit my needs?
suprefly replied to Generation X's topic in Sound Solutions Audio (SSA®)
There's a couple around here that have used them....haha OTHER than the owners of the company One off the top of my head.... http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...showtopic=25752 Not dissing anyone at SSA. Honestly my next subs WILL be yours cause of how you run this site, give unbiased advice (well, as much as you can lol), and i haven't read one negative thing about your products or you guys Me personally, I'd go with the XCON, but no matter what your getting a good prduct -
JL has good tutorials. And those are the only ways i know how to wire the subs close to where you want it http://mobile.jlaudio.com/support_pages.php?page_id=161

Jsut for the sake of anyone reading this as a review of that amp...... Nothing is wrong with. Audioque tested it, it's fine....so somehow there is some bug in my system thats really screwy. Guess I'm gonna take all my wires out, check them, find a different ground, replace my RCAs (mostly cause they're not that great, and they sat in a puddle in my trunk....apparently i have a leak) and then go from there Oh and it rained AFTER all of this so it couldn't be the water leakage causing problems. -
I checked my battery, nothing is touching + and - I checked the amp, the power wire and ground fit nice and snug with no loose strands The amp worked last night......all i did was unhook wires, move it to the trunk and hook the wires back up....I'm at a loss The only thing i can think of is its somehow shorted in the amp, but i didn't shake, tip, etc. since last night...i don't think the power wire is cut since i turned the car on and the fuse in the engine bay is fine. I have an AQ1200D and two SDC2.5 subs by the way.

I think you should really put off buying ANYTHING and go read up A LOT. No offense We all were noobs at one time lol!
-
Thats what i did with my first box.....it was the rest of the box that sucked lol Box looks great! Keep it up and definitely tell us your scores!
-
Well if you get those.......the RMS is the same as the max output of that amp.....so your not gonna blow the subs thats for sure. Watch your amp though....

My god there has to enough pressure in there to turn your brain to soup!

I used the SSA enclosure tool and just want to check and see if everything seems right This is going in a 99 civic sedan, SDC2.5 12". I have all this calculated for a net vol. of 2cuft and a gross of 2.65.....will that be good? Any recommendations for a better box for this sub? Outside dimensions: width=30 depth=15.5 height=14.5 For the port, tuned to 38Hz: width=2.5 height=13 L shaped so... L1=12.25 L2=1.5 and the enclosure tool says total port length is 18.25...is it calculating straight down the center? Area=32.5 displacement=602.875 in^3 or ~.35 cuft I'm really not too sure about the port.....also if i were to use winISD, what sub should i use for calculations or does it matter?
-
If that is truly what you want, you shouldn't run the AQ. I severely doubt that is what you want though. No offense......you say this to everyone that says SQ and SPL in the same sentence. And for most people.....you're right. After reading a bunch of reviews, I figured these would be a good balance especially for the money. Maybe they aren't.....if thats the case then I'll just go with SPL for now I've never had a really nice SQ or SPL setup so I'd love to own both, then see which i really like more. I think I'd like SQ more based on what i listen to, the style i play drums, etc. So back to my question, do you think those are good box specs for that sub? But changing the 1.5" part of the port to 3"

The sound stuff: AQ1200D amp 2 12" SDC2.5s So after reading all these build logs, i decided to try to build my own box It's not too bad so far for a first try....and the first time using a skil saw LOL. This is all going into a 1999 Civic sedan also here's some pics! My trunk Yes I'm going to fix that gap....i have to cut the top, put those "steps" in place so the subs and port can all fit like they will be on the front. Also need to cut the port back one inch, overestimated it cause i did like five different boxes before i got everything fit. And this was the easiest way to do it, which isn't too bad. I think it should turn out pretty good! What do you guys think? Any pointers to make my box better?
-
I'm thinking if you don't want to spend too much money, just move that amp up front and then buy a new amp for the subs.
-
Thanks Shizzon! Definitely trust you....I read your build log a while back and was hoping you'd jump in Sucks about the amp though Mine blew...or something...not sure what happened or if it's my fault or the amp's......oh well.
