    differences in models?

You need to give people more information to work with. How could anybody possible know what you need when you haven't even said what you're trying to power.

New play things thanks to Sundown!

Just want to say thanks again for the great deal on these subwoofers Jacob! My buddy is going to LOVE the transition. Now it's time to find him a new amp and build a better enclosure.

    HDC3 15 ??

Sounding "fine" to you does not mean they sound good... I was just giving my opinion based on my personal experience with the equipment. Which AQ subs have you owned and for how long?
  5. Can someone come burn down where I work so I don't have to go in. Please?
  6. My roommates 10s should be here today!

    HDC3 15 ??

I never had issues with my AQ subs. I had 2 15s in my car for over a year. I thought they sounded just fine as did the people who heard my system.

    would you buy this?

I guess I'm the only one who thinks a Mustang in snow is a bad idea. I guess that's because I lived in Germany and my dads Cobra has a pretty rough time in the snow. Even coming back to the States it was sketchy being in that car with snow. Now would I trade a 2005 Mustang for a 1993 Tahoe? HELL NO!

A Suburban A Warhorse and a pair of Double Dees

Hey bro, it was good meeting you. Bummer it was hotter than hell. We'll need to chat more car stereo stuff when you get a chance. Maybe a little test and tune before the next show. Yeah, it was a small show. The sanctioning organization is called StreetSPL. You can check them out here. They seem to have shows in San Antonio every other month. It's pretty cool. A good reason to get together and bump the system without worrying about the police. You should come to the next show, when ever it is. Your "new to you" Nightshades will kick some a$$. Ya I will definitely head to the next one. Worst part is I was off all weekend and didn't hear about it! I need to invest in a new alternator and a couple more batteries before I can let these Nightshades get what they want. They still sound great on this 1500 so I can't wait to see what a 3500 will do.

A Suburban A Warhorse and a pair of Double Dees

Hey Hugo did you go to a little show here in SA over the weekend? A friend of mine just showed me some pics and I swear I see your DDs and Warhorse. I didn't find out about the show till it was already over!!! Arghhh.

    XS and Deka

Unless the batteries are isolated, I don't see how the front battery "wont be used by the audio equipment". That just doesn't make sense.

    15s in the DTS

I've been putting off installing this because I just haven't had time to do it myself. So finally I just took it to a local shop and they did the install for me while I was at work. I'm very pleased with the results. I had these subs in a Grand Marquis before and it sounds MUCH better now. Anyone who has/had a trunk like the Marquis knows what I'm talking about! Here are the pics of the finished product in the Caddy. 2x AQ 15" SDC2.5 Sundown SAZ-1500D The Yellowtop is not connected yet as I picked it up from my dad after the install. I can always do that pretty quickly myself anyway. The Kenwood X592 is in there temporarily until I can buy a touchscreen. The almighty stock subwoofer porn:

    Cadillac alternators

I wont be doing the install myself. The Cadillac engine bay scares me to work on. I will most likely spend the extra money and take it to a shop or even the dealer who knows what they are doing. I probably wont need one for another couple months so I will shoot you an e-mail or PM when the time comes. I plan on running about 3-4kw when all said and done. I think the 270XP will work just fine. I've heard a lot of great things about those alternators. I appreciate the information.
  16. I was browsing your site and saw that past 2006 you only have alternators listed for the Escalade. Is there anything available for the DTS? I'm going to be adding a lot more power to my system in the next few months and will need an electrical to back it up.

    15s in the DTS

I really, really, really want to. I'm supposed to work that weekend but I'm trying to get the days off. I have a week of paid vacation coming up and if all goes as planned I will be completely free from the 20th-27th.

    15s in the DTS

Yeah I went over to the shop I got it done at and asked them what if I blow the box apart. They assured me that would be impossible. They were so confident that they told me if anything happens to the box due to the bass they would build me something new. Real funny part is, the front baffle is already starting to separate from the box. I noticed small gaps forming when I was doing the remounting. I have the next two days off so I'll most likely go over there tomorrow and talk to them some more. The surround clearing was my major concern. I spent about 30 minutes poking around and listening to see if I could spot any issues and didn't see one. The box is leaning forward now that the subs are inverted. I guess that's what 130lbs+ of subwoofers will do. I'll get real hate from my trunk when the power and box size increase. The back of my ride already sits lower due to the weight of the subs alone, even with my auto-leveling rear suspension.

    15s in the DTS

Thanks. The HTC Inspire can take some decent pics when you get the hang of the focus. My wiring job was kind of ugly but the size of these things are enough to not notice. lol Yeah the trunk is definitely a good size. I still need to get a new box build going as I'm not super happy with the current one. It works and sounds good, I just know it could be better. After having them inverted, I'm re-thinking how I want to go about the new build.

    15s in the DTS

Alright guys so sorry I held you up on the inverting of the subs but here it is. First up a couple more shots of the Nightshades. Getting the first sub into position and screwed down. Flipping these upside down was a reminder on how heavy these beasts are! 2nd sub kind of in place, took a quick second to catch my breath and snap a photo. 2nd sub locked in position and ready to be wired up! Mmmmmmm Sundown motors. mmmmmmm Last side shot here didnt come out to well but whatever, I'm posting it anyway because I know how much you guys love pics. I must say that inverting them made a noticeable difference. I really did not expect that. The subs "hit" sounds much more profound now. My friend told me it sounds like something is trying to come out of my trunk but all I could say is I need . Hopefully in the next few weeks here I can get this SAZ-1500D sold and get set up to purchase a SAZ-3000D or SAZ-3500D. I was looking at the SAZ-2500D as well but I think I rather go a bit bigger and spend a little more than regret it later, so that's my game plan. I hope yall enjoy the pics!

Hugo - I'm not fiberglassing the Caddy at all. So I'll be the odd man out. haha. Jon - I see a lot of people using old t-shirts when im browsing build logs. I think as long as you put some fiberglass mat down on it you should be good to go.

    Inverting subwoofers

Went to the lake house to get the tools and ending up having to fight off these crazy giant red hornets. A few nests decided to develop in the shed so naturally I had to defend our territory. Resilient bugs they were as the "Insta kill" Hornet/Wasp killer barely dazed them. As soon as I got back into town it started to rain. Just my luck. It's supposed to rain the next couple days so I will have to wait it out.
