Looking good. I like the last design. Any idea how the different firing and port directions will effect output?

The deck, power pack, parking brake bypass, sub rca's, sub remote and aswc-1 are installed. If only I could get the aswc-1 to work.
I took out the back seat and all the trim from the b pillar back.
Removed the factory "subs" from the rear deck.
I cut the rivets holding the speakers behind the b pillar in to make room for subs, and put down some deadener.
I'll post pics of the deck after I get this cleaned up. The Focal coaxials are wired and just need screwed down.

My deck showed up today. Tomorrow I'll get to work on clearing out my garage, so I have room to work on the car. I think I'll start the install with the deck, power pack, ASWC-1, and parking brake bypass. Hopefully in a few days.

Nice, I have been wanting to do a projector setup for years just having had the space lately to correctly pull it off.
The best part is the sound. I have had large tv's for a while, and I don't miss the low or high placed center channel. This AT screen material is awesome, and you don't see the large towers behind the screen. After the sub is done I'll enclose that whole end of the room. Here's what I have planned.
Here's the sub box design

Eventually I'll get to my sub build. I have an AA Avalanche 18 that'll be in 21 CU FT tuned @15 hz. Running on a Behringer EP2500 through a Behringer feedback destoyer pro. And get some better LCR speakers.
It's hard to get good pics with my camera phone in a room that's normally really dark. I'll try to get some posted up. Here are the rear wall speakers and projector.

Looking forward to this. Your van box is one of my favorites.

Looking clean. I almost bought a roadmaster a few years ago, but they are hard to find clean and with the LT1 like yours. All that stereo and still more trunk space than most cars.

My friend Steve Mead told me to check it out. Been here since.

The IDQ v2's are killer subs as far as SQ goes. I've had a few over the years (still have a pair of BNIB 12's) and absolutely love them!
If they were still available I probably would've bought them. The SD-2's will make the install easier. I can go with a slightly thinner box.
I ordered my ASWC-1 for steering wheel controls, and a parking brake bypass. I think I have everything i need on the way. After I clean up my garage I'll get a sheet of MDF to build the boxes.

If you want it to "look" lower, paint it gray. The black blends in and won't be noticeable. Maybe you can do something about the trim holes in your front bumper as well.

I have ccf, and deadener for that area. Any panels that get pulled will get ccf, the doors will get full treatment.sounds good. i would pick up some CCF to decouple all the panels around the sub enclosures. i assume they'll be prone to rattle the most.

Thanks.nice gto
With help from forum member Lithium in my sub thread. I've settled on a pair of Sundown SD-2 D4 10's sealed in .5 cu ft.
Edit. Subs ordered.

this is what i ment by going to the spl display.
i threw in that shallow alpine type r, which isn't that great it seems, and a dcon 10 in a ported box. when you include cabin gain the frequency response of the ported sub will have a hugely exaggerated low end (so people enjoy this). while the sealed systems will be closer to a flat response.
i modeled the jbl gto 8" (2 per box) vs the sundown and its pretty much a wash. less than 1db difference isn't audible.
someone mentioned a 15" sealed in the spare tire well. here is a xcon 15" on 1500wrms in 2.2cuft VS 2 sd10-2 on 1000wrms
the strength of the xcon 15 is that you could tailor the response to your liking and still have spl to spare compared to the 10" options.
Thanks for the help. It looks like I'll be ordering a pair of SD-2 10 D4. My previous two setups were ported with a flat response. They were a little too heavy on the bottom end. Lately I've been enjoying the JL 12W6V2 sealed setup in my jeep. So I think I'll be happy with a sealed pair of tens in the GTO. Maybe I won't have fight trunk rattle for once!

go to the "spl" graph and compare a few options with the amount of power they're would get. you can knock down the high end to flatten response. cabin gain will help as well.
I'm wondering if I put the sub in properly. So I used a tutorial from an HT forum and put the info in again. My first problem is Sundown doesn't list SD. Everything else seems fine except VAS, for some reason it calculates it at .06 L.
Second problem is I'm not sure which type of crossover to select for the lowpass filter. Butterworth, linkwitz? I'm assuming I'll want to select 4th order.
Third, how much of a difference will cabin gain make?
I'm looking at .45-.5 cu ft net for each SD-2 10 D4. These will have as much power as they need, with 1500 rms available.
Here's the graph with both input methods and thiele listed. And 4th order Butterworth @80hz filter on both.

Finding another set of IDQ10V2 is going to be a pain, mark that off the list. I modeled the TB 8's. I'm not impressed with the low end sealed, and I'm not going ported. Looked around at some other 8's, and I'm too cheap to pay for 4 quality 8's that work well sealed. So back to shallow 10's. Surprisingly I find sundown makes a "shallow" 10 that works sealed and likes small boxes. The SD-2 looks decent, but still a little lacking on the bottom end. Of course this is the first time I've modeled sealed subs, and I'm hoping I'm using WINISD correctly. Here's the graph.

I like the blue. Sounds like you've got plenty to keep you busy for now.

I like you "lets see what happens" attitude. Since you added all that weight to the door panels. Are you adding any extra attachments from the door panel to the door itself? Maybe some screws or something? Are the speakers in a sealed enclosure on the door panel? Or do they vent into the doors?
