  1. Well, after a couple of weeks of installing 4 of the new Nightshade 15 V.2's I've finally caused a little damage to my truck. Demoing last night on music my windshield came loose at the top of the cab. Everyone was saying my moulding was flopping around and when I poked my head out the side the window, they were right, I was losing air big time from the separation. The bad thing is today is the show and last night I was only at at half knob on the LC-1, I burp at full input signal on the LC-1. Needless to say, gotta go silicone and duct tape the windshield down this morning and since I have to replace it anyway, my goal is to break it on out today during my street beat run. I'll try to get some vids while I'm in the lane.

  2. Things get kicked off Friday night with our annual Midnight Madness Sale. There will be price slashing throughout the store, giveaways, neon competition, tuning sessions, and of course demoing  .

Saturday the sales continue and registration for the show begins about noon with metering starting about 2 pm.

If you're in the area.......stop by, meet the guys, spend some money, and of course have fun!:woot:

  3. I too had an h/o alt from DB Electrical, with same probs as you and wanted more output at idle. Finally got with Dave from DC Power Engineering and now have dual (2) 270XP alts putting out 400 amps at idle. Needless to say, the difference is like night and day, love it. Call them and see what they can do for you, be forwarned, they are pricey, but what can we say.....we chose this expensive hobby. biggrin.gif

  4. Is that half the power of 4k or half power being 4k watts? Just curious as those drivers are only 1k rms.

Looks really good though. Those Memphis amps are long as hell! trink40.gif

I'm only running each amp at 2000 watts or 1000 per sub. These amps are 4000 watts rms a piece.

djphilly....I just have the standard ford module, not the pro.....BTW that voltage is at the AMP not the ALT, probably closer to 16v at the ALT.

  5. Seal it up so we can a video of this in action. Looks sharp and nice install, what is the wall tuned to? Have you played it yet curious to hear how you like the Z15's since I havent installed mine yet?

It's tuned to about 35 Hz, I've been playing it for about the past 2 weeks at half power (4000 watts) for break in and it sounds pretty damn good for a $200 sub. I've already made one guy bail out gagging for air trippy.gif . I should begin the panels here shortly. I'll get some vids up soon.

  6. Ok, redoing my setup in one of my vehicles. Equipment is 1 JL 300/4 and 1 JL 1000/1. Hooked everything up and right off the bat, the low voltage light comes on the JL 1000/1 and the 300/4 won't come on. Checked voltage at amps and I'm getting 12 and both. Now, the only thing I did different from the previous install was I DID use a relay on the remote wire, this time I didn't. The deck is a Pioneer and I'm wondering if the remote wire on Pioneers can't support 2 amp turn-ons. Any one got any suggestions?

  7. That doesn't sound right. The Fi has dual coils. You should have one wire from red terminal on one side of sub to the red terminal on the other side of the sub then to positve speaker on the amp. Then wire from black terminal on one side of the sub to the other black terminal on the other side of the sub then to the negative speaker on the amp. If it's a dual 2 then you have a net 1 ohm load. Can you post pic of how you have it wired now?

  8. is there any way the guy wire them in series instead of parallel i think at 4 ohm that put out 600 watts and at 1 ohm it was 1200 watts for the sae 1200d is there any way to pull a speaker and look to see how it's wired ??? don't want you to do some thing your not comfortable with. plus to add it mite be the box what it tuned to?? i would tune it lower then 33 hertz some were maybe in the 25-30 range but that is personal liking. if your in series your only pushing them about 60% if that is the right number i can't remember because they don't have a listing on them. any ways if you were pushing them about 70-90 % they would reach there full potential. n-e ways that all i can think of either wiring, or box, or just bad subs.

They're wired right, meter is saying 1.2 ohms at the amp.

  9. And what gets me, the box builder competes, or used to. He's got the trophies and so forth to show for it, that's why I let him do it. The subs I bought hit 160 in a CRX with 4 memphis mojo 4kw's.

They tried to sell me one of those too (Mojo's), but I supplied the Sundown amps for the install.
