  1. oo mdf veneer is still MDF but with top and bottom oak on it! nice! where did you buy that from? home depot because i don't think i have seen that before there, also how much did it cost for a sheet? if you can remember off hand

Haha yes :) I bought it through a local wood shop/ dealer in which I got employee discount (because I am t3h c00Ln3ss!) haha jk my friends dad is the owner. I got it for around 30 bucks a sheet, which isnt bad since its not far off from regular MDF. Im not sure about what it would be retail price... but I can ask.

  2. hey isn't MDF with oak veneer used for flooring or something?

also pardon my second question how does it compare to mdf? is it denser ?

Haha Im not quite sure, but I dont think so.

Second question: Are you asking about the veneer? Or just the wood in general? Its still MDF, but just with a very thin layer of oak on both sides.

  3. You didn't want to do double baffle on that box,or those Q's don't need it? Also can you send me the box design or cut sheet?

I did the flush mount, which helps with the flex anyways.. plus I got bracing in the middle so it will help even more. But yes I can PM you with the cut out sheet. As long as you write COPYRIGHT by BaMF101 on the inside of the box :P :P lmao jk

  4. sick lookin' box man! love that oak!

Thanks man! Its MDF with oak veneer :)

I wonder how many times you'll need to say that in this thread, I already knew it was a veneer but thanks for mentioning it again... lol... Let's see who asks if its oak... hahaha

Yeah I know LOL. Reading > people :) maybe Ill bold it and put it in the title hahaha

  6. i know mdizzle has several years of swaping out installs in his......... he might be able to offer some advice or input.... good looking enclosure design.... keep up the work!

    chop

    IAK

Thanks!.. I have had a few other designs close to this that Ive had before :)

that looks really good almost what i want are thoses battery trays or thats where your mounting the amps?

Those boxes are where the amps are going.. they will have removable lids with magnets just so I can get to them if I need to. I will probably draw up a mounting place for the batteries too, which will be located on the side of the box over the wheel wells.

  7. That's incredible!! Plz post pics when done. Also if there anyway to get the detail plans for it? Was looking to upgrade my truck to dual 15's but if you have the plan for 18's I'm going there

I havent gotten the details on it yet, Ill be working on it tonight to figure out the cutout sheets.. Will probably post pictures tomorrow with the start of the build. :)

  8. Does that box allow you to keep your back seats? How many cubes and what's it tuned to? Are you putting those Fi Q's in from your Sig?

Yup! Its 12.5 cu ft. @33 hz, with about 12 sq inches of port per cube... and yes they are for the Qs :)

  9. Sameeeeeee exact thing happened to my Hifonics bxi2610d a few months back. I had the volume turned up just barely audible and I heard a pop sound. Get home and check it and my anl fuse blew, so I popped in another one quick and PUFF the magic smoke flies out of it. I took the amp out and it hear something rolling around in it also... I didnt have anymore warranty left so I said screw it and Ill investigate it, and it was a little tube like thing (I dont know shit about amps internals :ughdunno: ) rolling around inside with a big black mark by it..

So over the next hour I threw in an older amp I had and an even smaller fuse, and it has worked fine since. :puzzled:

  10. They must not have heard of an Ipod if they wanted to jack your cds so badly ;) ... next time keep those #1 wanted Bass Mechanik cds out of reach :)

But yes my cd player is impossible to get out without taking the whole dash apart pretty much. I live in a small town that knows nothing about stereos so Im not too worried about my stuff being stolen, plus my box will take three people to get it out (because I made it such a tight fit that you have to weasle it around the car and will only come out one way)... But definitely get an alarm asap. Maybe they learned their lesson by getting chased with a man with the golden gun? :suicide-santa:
