    Welcome to the IHoP

how about no tax breaks if you ship jobs overseas? Corporations should get tax breaks for creating jobs, not for destroying them and lining the CEO's pockets with cash. In case any of you missed the jon stewart bit on it... http://www.dailykos.com/story/2011/03/29/961151/-Jon-Stewart-rips-into-GEs-corporate-tax-rate And lets stop importing shit, how about some pride in US made products again? (i wish as a population we were smart enough to sway the demand ourselves but we're definitely definitely not) and to really fix all our problems can we take all the damn politicians out back and shoot them, and let the next set know that's going to be an option if they are as self-serving as their predecessors. No discrimination, shoot the good ones too, just to make an example.

I have liked most of what I've heard from Ron Paul, but I don't know anything other than what he's spit out to a camera.
  3. if he doesnt have problems, there really isnt a reason to mess with something that works... Ground problems aren't always apparent at first. He stated earlier that he was having problems(didn't read every reply afterwards). He also stated he's getting a new amp soon which I'm assuming will be pulling more power which will only make a small ground problem much larger.
  4. My problem was it introduced a ground loop, it is kind of the ideal location to create one too.
  5. FWIW the trunk latch proved to be an awful ground back in an old install in my stratus, i've avoided that spot since. It took me about 6months to locate the problem too.

Wow, some people are ridiculous. I seriously thought I was going to get mugged one time at VaTech. It was my first year, coming back from the math empo walking across the drill field (read 100 yards of open field but full of drunk football fans). I don't follow ANY sports, turns out we were playing florida (i think???) that day. I was wearing a green shirt, not a fucking football shirt, just a fucking green shirt. Hoards of people kept yelling at me and I was beyond perplexed, why did everyone keep saying fags wear green? So a group of about 5-10ppl start to approach me and luckily a group of about 30-40 intelligent hokies ganged up around me yelling "he's wearing a fucking bookbag you morons, he's a hokie" They actually walked with me all the way back to the dorm while explaining what had just happened.

Ah, high school computer shenanigans. Playing first person shooters across the LAN in computer lab = good times. Used to do that in high-school. And in the senior year we would skip some classes, get the network admin, find a free computer lab and play shooters. It was fun when the principal found us. unreal tournament was my fav in HS. I loaded it up on the network so that anyone could log in and install it on their computer (because the tech kept formatting the computers trying to erase the game). I assumed he'd check the server as well so i had three copies of the install file; one just sitting in a folder buried among bullshit; one "hidden" by nothing more than the right click option, and one that was encrypted and extremely well disguised. He formatted almost every computer lab on a weekly basis and never managed to erase any of the three files on the server. He knew it was me doing it and even told me once "i can't figure out how you get 100+ copies of that game loaded within one day of me formatting all these computers"
  10. Wal-mart clearance, I usually get lucky and there's a few rolls for cheap. Used the stuff from Home Depot/Lowes as well but the insulation did become brittle over time on those (years later).

GL Matt, I think all the classes I took both in undergrad and professional were remedial. I maybe had 3 classes that actually taught me something and didn't seek to reinforce the basic way of learning.

    Help On New Speakers!

    Help On New Speakers!

Well if that's truly how he feels I do honestly suggest he goes to wherever he can find some cheap coaxials and drop them in. There's no point spending serious money on your front stage simply to add speakers to the rear to completely nullify the front. Also, if you have subs in your trunk that move any amount of air you're going to have to build boxes around your speakers in your rear deck, the added pressure WILL rip the cones right out.

    Help On New Speakers!

Im with you, I will always have rears in all my vehicles unless I drive a 2 seater. Its a personal preference and some arent worried about the best sound out there in the world, if he wants rears then help him finding some. Picking speakers will be hard without hearing them honestly, if you liked the RE's you had in the past then I would stick with them since you know how they sound/perform. Just my .02 A good set of speakers in the front is all you need and all you will want. The rear(passengers) will be able to hear the music just fine, a good front stage won't jog any of the sound. If you want to waste money on rear speakers get the prettiest ones.

Ethanol is great for making power. Not so good for mileage. True. The idea that it could be any sort of replacement for gasoline in a daily driver scenario is a joke. It is a good alternative to high octane gas though. Equivalent of like 105 octane and costs about the same as pump gas right? It's actually better for the environment as well. I don't know the exact number, but the carbon footprint is about half that of gasoline. E85 is slightly more. As for cost, it depends. IT's usually around 90% that of gasoline and it contains 80% of the energy gasoline does, so you burn more fuel for the same power, but in the end, you probably lose money. So the only real gain is the environmental effect. Not at all how I understand it. You have to include the distillation in your environmental footprint and considering ethanol is a net negative that doesn't bode well for the environment. Add to that what it will do to our soil which is already overused and corn being an aggressive crop it really makes no sense at all. Sugar cane is a different story, but we can't grow that... On top of that building a car to run on a flex standard and that is ridiculous. If you don't gain the benefit of compression then you lose everything that you gain and are now just wasting a shit ton of energy. And then of course looking at how little environmental impacts cars actually have and its just not a logical argument. Hell in LA air has to be "cleaner" coming out of the tailpipe than going into the intake on an average day. no doubt. EthNol is garbage for the earth if your talking from corn. I've never heard that cane was a net gain, but even breaking even is better than fucking corn. It's for whiskey and Mexican food. Nothing else. Let's not stop short at the effect on the soil and environment. How about the fact that it narrows the inherent genetic randomness because ethanol farmers care about growing the most corn, not the most diverse. You know how thanksgiving always shows multicolored corn....that wasn't because they thought it was pretty, that's actually what an alarming percentage of it used to look like! And once you narrow out all the genetic variables you're left with a country full of one species of plant which can be so easily wiped out. will be wiped out.... we simply have too many fish in the aquarium.

benadryl sucks i preach it all the time, go find loratidine, it's still an antihistamine and the side effects are almost nill; especially compared to benadryl. If loratidine doesn't work well try cetirizine, also a 24hr dosage antihistamine. Sean is on the nose though, stop the itch and you really don't have to worry about anything else. I get more bug bites than anyone i've ever seen, used to have badly scarred arms from them (yay secondary infections) then when loratidine came out i was in love as I refuse to take benadryl, my sleep patterns are erratic enough. hows that for a run on sentence!
