  1. Let me know your max dimensions and I can design one for ya. I want some more practice in sketchup anyway. If you want to build it yourself that is.

ok so my width can be no longer than 52in...... my higth and depth both have to be 14"...so itd be ??Wx14Hx14D, and would like it to be 32 hz preferbly straight vented not flared... sorry if i made it hard to follow that but let me know what you come up with and thanks in advance!

Ok, Do you want the port and sub firing the same way? Is there anywhere the port or sub cant be due to being blocked by something?

oh yea forgot bout that.... yea id like both of them firing same way and speaker tobe centered

  3. Sealed or ported. What is your source for the "smaller enclosure?" I would think that Fi is gonna recommend what works for their stuff.

Oh, sorry ported (vented) , i got those specs straight from their website but i done a search and found posts saying that they like more space than that

What do you want it ported to, what type of music do you listen to and what amp will be used in this application?

Audioque 2200d, 32hz, and a lil of everything but mostly rap/hip hop

I would make the box 2.5 ft^3 @ 32 Hz and stay within what FI reccommended but Im pretty sure you could go bigger but I wouldnt go to much bigger, what are you trying to build it at?

if you mean what i think, im not going too... unless someone can give a thorough walk through on how to get all the #s, so I AM A probably go with one of our site enclosure builders?!

  6. What you rec..? just measured my space the enclosure can be up to 52"W x14"H but no more than 14"D, roughly where would that put me cubic ft wise

That is about 5.9 cu. ft. before factoring in wood thickness and all other whatnot.

Thanks man, what it take to get 3.0 cu. ft,....as long as its ??"Wx14"Hx14"d, thanks for the help

  7. Long story short. Let's focus on your goals and needs, then we can start working towards which equipment is best for you.

ok gotcha, basically if i want sound quality get xcon, if i want loud get btl??

Basically but you need to have the right enclosure

  8. Better depends on your application and goals, if you don't state them I'll lock the thread as this won't go anywhere useful without you sharing information.

edit: if you just want opinions on the drivers, SEARCH, which btw is something you agreed to do when you joined.

Word bro, no need to get harsh im still a noob and cant post from work,...

In short i (obviously) want a spl sub that i can use for just day to day listening, and maybe put in one of my local competition just to see what it can do, ....Just want it loud..lol

It wasn't harsh, you agreed to search when you joined the forum. You also agreed to attach the right info to a thread when you make one. Having an attitude towards this won't help you.

Yea, i know and no attitude here,..

  10. I was looking to see what some opinions of each of these, or the goods and bads of both, i will be running a audiioque 2200d amp, in a 2 or 2.5 cube box, in a daily setup so which would be a better sub? And does fi have any kind of warranty at all?

  11. Okay so i done a search and couldnt find much on this, so i need to know weather to get dual 1 ohm or dual 2 ohm on a single btl for a daily setup, in a 2 cubic ft box with this amp http://cgi.ebay.com/Power-Acoustik-OVN1-3000D-MONO-3000w-Car-Amplifier-Amp_W0QQitemZ230365510858QQcmdZViewItemQQptZCar_Amplifiers?hash=item35a2dabcca&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 .... and depending on what ohm set up for the speaker does some on have a diagram of how to wire it up? Thanks in advance!

Get a dual 2 ohm subwoofer (variety of amps to choose from if the sub has this option) and wire it parallel down to 1 ohms :

http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp?Q=1&I=22 (picture of how to wire).

Dont get that amp, check into Audioque 2200 (audioque.com) or Sundown SAZ-2000D (www.sundownaudio.com, www.soundsolutionsaudio.com)

i ll check them out thanks

  12. Please do not buy that amp!

Buying an expensive sub with that amp is like expecting great gains from installing a CAI on a Kia....

That amp is not suggested whatsoever.

The cheapest budget based amp currently getting high reviews is the Audiopipe AP30001D rated to do just over 3,000w at 2ohms bridged, dual class d amplifier.

Since it appears you are new to the car audio realm, if you were to purchase such amp (brand new under $350), i would highly recommend someone trained to properly set it up for you or you will smoke your BTL.

IT's also possible that any amp i or someone else mentions can smoke the BTL too due to clipping the amp when overdriven and will not be warrantied because this is a neglected fault caused by user error.

If you are willing to purchase the proper tools to setup an amp or to have a qualified person do it for you, then by all means buy that Audiopipe amp.

You can also get an AQ2200D which is just under $400 brand new. It does 2200w @ 1ohm.

A 1 ohm stable amp requires a Dual 2 ohm.

A 2 ohm stable amp requires a Dual 1 ohm.

Thanks man, will check out some better amps and yea i am fairly new to the audio world

  14. The BTL is a very capabable driver built here in the USA. If you have over 1500 watts, get the BTL, if not get the BL. The BL is plenty loud.

Thanks man, planning on running 2k or so watts so definitely the btl, but it'll just be a daily setup. just want more than i have now with my L7

  15. Everyone is going to say they like it. Why don't you try being more specific with your question and what you want out of the sub.

Also try using the search feature. Tons of threads have already been started about it.

    many, many topics...including mine!

sorry dudes...new to forum, trying not to get flamed to bad, but just a daily sub setup...mostly just skeptical about fi havent heard much of em

  16. probably about to order a btl shortly, and would like to know what add-ons to get such as cooling and dual 1 or dual 2 ohm and so on,,,,btw this will be just a daily setup,Thanks!

please elaborate A LOT more ... how many btls? ... what amp/amps are u running with?

sorry but just one sub and not really sure bout thats kinda what i was lookin to find out..... sorry, just a noob!....lol
