Look at it in this sense.............it could have been a lot worse! Like for instance having your whole car stolen and take to a chop shop at the next town and then beat the car to death so bad it wasn't worth the scrap prices! Oh not to mention the 5k in audio, 2k in rims and tires and the money I had stashed away.....my bowling bag/balls/shoes. Horrible day! I wish they just spray painted my car......I wish!

Highs amp-Older clarion amp, forget model. Does roughly 75rmsx4. Box-2.0cft ported box @34, built by Twisted0912 over at ca.com. Wire-A shit ton Knu Konceptz KLMX 0/1 and accessories, with big3 finally done. Batteries-1 Redtop group31 up front and 1 Powermaster D5100 in the back. Deadener-100sqft of fatmat throughout and about 60sqft of Secondskin damp, all in the trunk. I need more, lol! Doing 145.1 last time on buddies TL.

I had an older autotek MM amp from a few years ago and I have used a lot of their newer amps, but lower mdels like the SS and Street editions as I am on budgets now with kids, lol! All have done very well in my case. Currently running another maxxsonics product and not one ioda of a problem.

Nice specs on that amp. Kinda wish I would have went that route over my current Hifonics BXi amp, which is the 2608d and wasn't but a little bit more money..........oh well, still like my amp and does the job.

I like both brands, but have had better luck with Kenwood as far as function, durability goes. Also never had once an issue with any buzzing through the speakers with any deck besides Pioneer and had it on majority of mine and would have to go abouts grounding the deck and what not, something I never had to do with any other deck. Also blew my picto fuse in my 880 as well....... I like the older Piooneers for a good 10 years ago, but seems now they are just cheap looking. If I was to buy between the two now, Kenwood x without a doubt!

I don't understand why people have such bad luck with KLMX wire. I have used it in two installs, the 0/1g kit and does fine and I am at around 1600rms and did the big 3 with it. Only problem I see is that it is hard to put ring terminals on, but just need to be patient and it will work. For the money it is hard to beat IMO. All their wire is really good IMO and if you have the extra dough, then hit up the fleks-kable. Also whoever said that the KLMX wire is hollow........obvious you have never used it.

Awesome setup! Really diggin' the box design.

My parents still have those subs in the same box with the mid and tweet and do quite well. When me and my wife were married we had the reception in my parents back yard and used those speakers for our wedding as we were trying to save money and off an ole school pioneer receiver and we were jamming the night away till it got till 1000pm, which is when the noise ordiance went into effect and someone finally called the cops on us or so we thought, lol! Police told us they could hear us at their station, which is a good few blocks away, lol! They let us off with a warning as most knew us and even stayed to shoot the shit for a few, but we had to turn off the music.....well turn it down. Anyway, some nice sounding cabinet speakers!

If you like your buddies sound, then why not go with that route? I am sure if he is a good enough friend he would understand. Least in my experiences as I have cool friends that are also into audio. I say a couple xcons would be killer, but that is some moola!

Couple of Dcons off a 1000rms amp should do really well in a ported box. So 310 for subs and I am sure you could find a 1000rms amp to suffice under 200. Would be a nice little setup for ya. I have always had good luck with Maxxsonics stuff and like the BXi amp I have or any autotek amp should do. The 1610BXi amp can be had for under 200 or right around there IIRC on eghey.

Why not a couple of the Icon 10's ported? That is what I am thinking of next.........if money allows me early next year. Will be just drop and play away as my box is perfect for them. I am currently running 1 10" older Pioneer Premier 250spl versions and doing 145.1 off the TL off my Hifonics BXi amp at 2-ohm, so around 1600rms or so, maybe a little less. Sounds good, but wanting to try something else. I do have my electrical up to par, which always helps of course.
