    As to the original question, no point in going that low IMO. Most ported enclosures will be well into unloading territory, so you're going to end up with a lot of idiots needlessly blowing their subs for little benefit. And while my setup isn't designed for SPL it gets sufficiently loud at low frequencies and really, the 18hz on the IASCA CD isn't all that impressive. 20-35hz will be plenty low enough, and lower than most commercial music gets. Most rap songs barely reach down below 35hz.

    1 15" has 176.625 sqin of cone area 2 12" has 226.08 sqin of cone area. I know that My xcon pounds the lows, but I have an 18 which is actually more than both of those. I have heard 2 15" icons and the pound the lows. I like both drivers, If it were me though I would go with the 2 12's. More cone area and I would love to see them on 2000 watts.

    Look into the new Sundown SA-12. Great sounding woofer that will go low and do it loudly! Incriminator Lethal Injections are another great choice but with your amp, might recommend the Death Row series. I love my 15" Lethal Injections, they have great sound quality along with getting loud. A lot of options here on SSA, that I think whatever choice you make will be a good one.

    Good choice on the subs! I run Incriminator Lethal Injection subs and love them. There are so many choices, you cannot make a bad choice if you stick with what is sold in the SSA Store.

    and less power compression plus more power handling if comparing same models.

  9. Who has a better 4" speaker, alpine or kicker?

    I'd recommend investing in some sound deadening equipment. It makes a huge difference in road noise. Just a suggestion.
