  1. Oh and do you believe the whole rear speaker arguement yet? Just curious. I am saving up for a new front stage and couldn't spend any money but still wanted a quick fix to help my quality. I kept my same front components, bridged my amp to them, took out the rears and sold them, cranked the gain all the way down, changed the mounting locations, and made my car sound 10 times better. Not only did I not spend anything, I made money. So trust me, these guys are good at what they do. OH, and I had to read many deadener links multiple times just to realize how little I now know about it. So like M5 is saying, keep reading.
  2. You are comparing a brick & mortar priced sub to one that is internet only. The better value should be obvious...
  3. You will get a much better answer if you tell us what they are going in, where they will go in said vehicle, what's the rest of your system consist of, will these be running off an amp or deck power, what kind of music you listen to, and what your goals are for sound(good sound, just loud etc).
  4. They had an issue with magnets. They got held up in customs. They are doing the best they can to get this worked out. It will be worth the wait.
  5. Not really, it won't help on any of the frequencies of your door mounted driver. I disagree mainly because I've tried it, and it makes a difference. Most people might be intimidated by your SSA tech team and your 40,000 posts and just take your word for it. I think, however, that you are just against it because it's not the "proper" thing to do. Yea, there are better ways to get a better result, but this does have some effect and you can't deny that. hey man no need to lose your lid on this, about 99.5% of the time m5 is coorect in his thinking and reasoning, he will not steer you wrong or bully ppl around. he just puts his brain in motion before his keyboard! other then that we did use donald duck tape in my buddies car and he LOVED it then one night i stole his keys and ripped it ALL out, while it was dark outside and i think i must have been drunk to actualy do it all, and then a week later I asked him "how he liked that duck tape?" he siad "man i am glad i did it! i love it" and then i tossed him a BALL of duck tape and said "well it isnt' doing jack for you b/c i took it all out when you werent' looking!!" or maybe he was passed out...overall i took it out lol he didn't even catch on, but if he would have told me man i don't know i don't htink it is doing much then i would have felt like a dick and i wouldn't have tossed hhim the ball lol!
  6. If you haven't done a 2 way, I would start there. Just plugging in drivers and switching to active will sound worse than passive, tuning will flip that around though. 6 drivers + sub is a lot to tune. I'd recommend thinking about it in 2 steps. Install something now, play with the tuning, see what you like/don't and then buy what you really want. Your first time out you will want to change something later anyways.
  7. Duct tape to seal the doors? Wtf is going on here? Would anyone seal their sub box with tape? No? A seal's a seal, right? Notice the sarcasm and rhetoric questions. I'm all about DIYing and doing it better, cheaper, but there's a line where things are either done right or half assed. Duct tape is half assed, as Mr. Donald Duck Tape illustrated
  8. Damn I accidentally rated the topic with two *. Sorry for that. Build looks awesome !
  9. i dont remember saying quite that high i might of but i don't think I did, and I did do my research this time, that is how i got these last results here, i actually took some tests and read the information. i'm sorry.
  10. ya well even if these aren't that great in the grand aspect of things, they still sound awesome and can make my ears itch from the vibration.
  11. And do you guys have to pick on the autistic kid. just leave me alone. ive got enough depression issues as is.
  12. but its a storage shed 20 miles away, i don't have a license so how am i supposed to get it. I will post pics if you want when i get around to going out there but idn when that will be
  13. ................................ i never said a knew everything, I know I don't know lots of things yet people tend to not understand this and they think I am not believing them which is false, I do believe what you guys are saying, buts its called debate, i am a debate kind of person and I like to talk things over thoroughly so it is well discussed. And I do know that that is why headphones hurt more, thats a given. and it really is in my storage shed, I really can't understand why you guys don't believe this, its not something that was hard to build so why doesn't anyone believe me that it exists.
  14. also I built that headphones amp 4 years ago when I was 17 I was a bigger noob then than I am now.
  15. Just saying you gotta learn not to let the interwebs bother you. Sorry sometimes the members of the elite SSA audio forums club deem people unworthy because they don't sound believable enough or what they say doesn't sound intelligent enough. Its all gravy, move on. Wasting time on people that don't care about you is pointless, find some friends that are into the same thing you are. Clearly the only way to learn around here is to get a punch to the face first.
  16. Just like your test for rears, you again completely missed the point. It ISN'T the speakers that make anything an SQ setup, but the installation. Exactly why your front / rear test failed. Look up cancellation, interference on wiki. Read it. Make sure it is in reference to waves. Then ask a logical question regarding the interaction of the fronts and rears WHEN THEY PLAY THE SAME FREQUENCIES. If you truly read it, I doubt you'll even need clarification, but I guess you probably won't believe it either. After all it is just simple Physics. Read the deadener page that was linked earlier as well. Hell read it 3x. Don't ask another deadening question or for clarification until you do. When you do ask, CITE what you don't understand or need more clarification on. You will be surprised at how much more helpful the answers will become when you spend 5 minutes doing some quick research first. That btw is the appropriate way to ask questions on a forum. If you really want to know how I feel, try to join www.corner-carvers.com. READ their terms and conditions. A light bulb should go off on how to actually get help on a forum. That one is by far the best run forum thread wise I have ever been on. Haha. I was waiting for that post to come.
