  1. Heres and update... Ran the 3000d for a week and a half and never once smelled coils got a bit warm but did amazingly well. I love the output and they are really on beat take a tons of abuse. Played 10hrz to 120 sweep and they did not bottom out lol. Next I want to try another design if possible with the box. I feel I am losing alot firing the ports up.. There has to be a way to make it work!! I also have a couple sealed boxes at the house thanks to a friend of our Corey..! might throw the icons in them for the hell of it!
  2. Just remember, you can't measure impedance with any multimeter on it's own..... Only DCR, which is NOT impedance....
  3. Dual 4 is what you want, you have to build a 2-way passive crossover, or buy this one like this- Subwoofer Crossover 4 Ohm 130 Hz 200W | voice coil subwoofers subwoofer crossover subwoofer subs sub woofers sub woofer sub power dual voice coil Crossovers coils COIL 4 ohm crossover-41108 Crossovers123008 | Parts-Express.com If you can't put the sub near or between your mains you may need a lower crossover point to help you not localize the sub... You run both voice coils seperately, one off of the left main and right main out of your reciever. The crossover filters everything below the crossover point to your sub (while presenting a 4 ohm per channel load) and everything above the point to your mains (presenting whatever your mains impedance is as a load). Super simple. Before someone says something stupid about this, this is how about a million passive subwoofers have been working for the last 20-30 years... lol....
  4. Found a random video on youtube. Thought I'd post it here.
  5. Some photos from a car show the gf and I walked through during my visit to her down in southeast KS: Me in front of a '69 Camaro. I blink in every picture. It's ridiculous.
  6. 1 point
Doh yea can't read! Look into the DCON they are just great on the lows and overall a great sounding subwoofer!
  7. 1 point
Toss a coin! The DCON's are some bad ass low frequency monsters within specified SSA box specs! The IA 187 series are a nasty loud, low playing subwoofer within IA box specs!
  8. So there is 3% chances left for you to choose other subs ! Take a look around here. The hdc are loud and "cheap", but maybe you can find something better. One good 18" can be loud enough for you, or even louder than 2 hdc's.
  9. What kind of system is this for? Music, video games, movies? If it's for movies primarily, you may want to tune a little bit lower. A number of movies have some rumbles down in the 16-20 hz range. So not only would you want to pick those up, but most home amps don't have subsonic filters so you'd want to protect the sub a bit with a lower tune as well (though some do have a set ssf). If it's primarily for music, you may want to tune a few hz higher to help with the output in the 30s. That being said, I think my home subs are tuned to 24 hz and I like it and have never had problems .
  10. Copper as a metal has less resistance than aluminum. That is completely different than saying "copper coils have less resistance".
  11. If ur gonna bitch about it than don't fuckin read it. how about you fuck off little one... if you dont wanna read what your told then why dont you go somewhere where people are willing to take your shit you cock eater. plz lil girls go off and play hop scottch somewhere else..
