Don't turn the head unit volume up above ~3/4 of its max. Or if you want to be exact, get an oscope and look.

The only advantage to running a smaller woofer is box size. There is no discernible frequency reproduction that certain sizes of woofers hit vs others.
  3. Thanks! Got our seats on E-bay. Leather you will have to search a little. LEDS from here http://www.oznium.com/prewired-leds The prewired are great to work with and draw very little power. LED modules are super nice Prewired superflux are very bright Check out their site, prices are very fair, shipping is cheap and quick, customer service is excellent! I'm interested in these LED's. How exactly do u wire them? The 5mm LEDS come prewired(+ & -) you just wire them parallel just like you would wire subs. When usind the 3 and 5mm prewired LEDS you can use a bunch, they draw 20mA each. Go to the site http://www.oznium.com/prewired-leds and check out the customer questions section on that page and it will answer most all questions you might have. They offer many different types of LEDS for all kinds of install spaces. Hope this helps.

  5. so you dont have people with BTLs breaking theirs when they burp? I guess youll have to look for my order for 6 BTLs then Nick Sure they break them..when they don't have their subsonic filter set properly and play way below tuning and shred the soft parts... Burping is generally on tuning, and is the least stressful on the soft parts mechanically speaking.. Point is, you bought IB woofers that are made for 550 watts @ 20Hz and have a single spider on them and put them in a ported box...it's not made for that. It's like taking a lotus and trying to go mud bogging with it...i'm surprised they lasted as long as they did to be dead honest with you. Car audio subs..are made for car audio..those subs aren't made for a ported box in a vehicle.tBTL's have a LOT stiffer suspension on them and keep things under control to an extent...I told you that when you bought them and you didn't want to listen

X2 on Quality over Quantity. Also, it's summer time. Everyone is out doing stuff like bumpin' their systems, working on their systems, vacations, spending time with family, working on their houses, etc., etc., etc. Hell, I just got done applying a coat of paint to my box, getting things prepped to change an element in my water heater, and I got the kids helping me pick up the yard so I can mow. It's busy time.

    Amen Brad! Quality over quantity.

I would rather have slower traffic with intelligent, helpful threads than the 10 posts-per-minute of nonsense and jackassery that some of the other forums have.
  10. just picked up some of these bulk jl terminals. really sweet deal imo 8 gauge - 96 pc 12 gauge - 192 pcs 16 gauge - 144 pcs
  11. Does it do rated? How reliable? It looks good from the outside just wondering if it's a decent quality product.
  12. Of all the brands carried on SSA it will be like tossing a coin. All great companies with great products and great customer service.
  13. Looks great man! This kid is gonna be scoring non stop with the lil" ladies!
  14. Good stuff man, this is turning out to be one impressive build caus most people I know, would never have the guts to paint their own car. Good luck , hope the bad weather let's up over there
  15. Actually, they build all of their amps in house! I didn't know that either, was very very refreshing to see a USA built amplifier. Good stuff. Very solid Amps, I personally like the 4kd they have. I didnt know that. That is good news for ther USA.
  16. Lots of smack coming from someone with nothing to show! I'm not allowed to have an opinion? Honestly? It's an Eclipse, for a teenage guy. It fits perfectly. Still ricey, though Oem lip kit, some suspension, and some low offset wheels would make that eclipse look amazing. If this is gonna be a show car, OP should know what's in and whats out in the import world. You can have your opinion but until you can show that you can do better or have something better then .... This is a father son project with a lot of hard work and hours put into a project that will last a lifetime. We all could only wish we could have an oppurtunity like this! Posted these on here before Btw, who cares what kind of project it is.. am i not entitled to have an opinion on the car? I think he went the wrong direction with it.. Everyone is gonna have an opinion..it's no different than folks who get bashed for using kicker and other mainstream brands. On a brighter note, OP gets props for doing this with his son wish my dad was into cars like that
  17. You are aware that there are other amplifiers out there, right? You need to expend your horizons a bit. To the OP, I like the Cadence ZRS amp. I have been using their amps for a decade now, and they always do better than rated and are exceptionally reliable... I still run a ~ 10 year old Z7000HC (1500@1 class AB) on my Brahma in my hot rod. The ZRS amps are very solid amps, and I am actually using a ZRS6000D on my subs in my daily driver right now. It puts out rated, and then some, has a nice small footprint and doesn't even get warm. The output is quite clean too. I am aware there are other amps out there, thank you Mr. Obvious. Point is, I know for a fact that the AP series amps from Audiopipe are solid and reliable at a great price. The OP asked for suggestions on amps that would be in his price range and work with the Xcon which is rated at 1750 rms, hence I suggested the AP18001D. Being cheap (~$190 shipped), proven to do rated power, and proven to be reliable I concluded this was an acceptable solution to his dilemma. You are aware there are other things to do on the net besides troll and be a dick, right? You need to expand your horizons a bit.
