  1. Avionixx was the house brand for an electronics buildhouse called Value Electronics. Elemental Designs distributed/sold the Avionixx amplifiers back in the '04 - '05 range, until eD began offering their own line of amplifiers. Value Electronics was also the buildhouse for those early Elemental Designs amplifiers. Avionixx was a hot name on the internet until eD stopped carrying them in favor of their own branded amplifiers....Avionixx switched to a couple different resellers but I don't think it every really had the momentum it did when they are being pushed by eD. They weren't bad amplifiers. They're no Sinfoni, but no Pyramid either. Pretty middle of the road. I hadn't even realized they were still around until this thread, searching google I see they still have an active website. Interesting. Concept has been around for a while as well. They used to have some higher powered cheaper amplifiers that were all the rage back in the '03 - '05 time frame. The subwoofers weren't overly popular, however they did offer one interesting line. I believe the CSP line was design/built by RE (which means it was probably designed by Scott, the same Scott who now owns Fi ). I believe it used an XBL^2 motor. The RE Destroyers that were popular a couple years ago used the CSP motor. If your subwoofer is a CSP, it might be a pretty decent subwoofer.
  2. I purchased the Boston Acoustic pro60se component system from Sonicelectronix for 289.99 about four months ago and i feel like i've had enough time with the set to make a reliable review. The bad news is that this is the first after market component set that i've really had any true experience with so this review may not have a whole lot of value. oh well The set has been running off of an old Alpine 3522 its entire life, so there is no doubt that they aren't getting their RMS (125 watts at 3ohms). The set was installed in the front doors in replacement of the stock speakers in my 2004 explorer. No modification was needed; they were pretty much a bolt on. and the tweeter is in line with the woofer using the stock mount. Now this is very important, i have done no modifications to the door. No sound deadening has been installed. That plus the low wattage causes a pretty large lack in mid-bass, but that's not the speakers fault. Now onto clarity. These speakers just honestly make it seem like i'm there in the studio. I have the adjustable tweeters set to all the way up on the crossovers. The vocals that come out of the speakers honestly seem like i have somebody in the car talking to me. It's very noticeable in the beginning of "baby got back" when the girl is talking. It's very noticeable in other songs as well, just I know that's a very famous song that people can relate to. Instrument reproduction is good as well and everything distinguishes itself very nicely. The best way to describe it is that i feel as if i'm in the studio listening to the band record their music. i love it. I would strongly recommend this set to anyone. but like i said before, i haven't heard any other sets even remotely close to this price range.
  3. Strong as an effing rock now.
  4. Huge props to Dan, and Larry at Larry's extreme in Port Charlotte for getting the Geo roof back in shape and fixing the damage SSA did.
  5. 1 point
what size fi ssd? If it's going to be a 12" then a pair of 12" X's will have more cone area, if install is done correctly then I would put my money on the X's being louder. Using more power to gain output is the least efficient way. How much space do you have to work with? dimensions or volume
  6. Fuck it, if yall wanna spend as much money on an amp as I spent on my whole system go right ahead. That's your choice. But don't talk shit when I offer someone a low cost alternative just cause it doesn't say Sundown, AQ, DD, or Cadence on the front of it. To each their own I suppose. And with that I wash my hands of this nonsense. Good day. Oh yeah, btw dickhead
