t/s specs vs actual sound quality
That's the problem with reading only one thread. He's been dumping on every one and usually has no point other than to be that way. Reaps what he sows.1 point

Can someone from DC Power Contact ME!!!!
Lol, really? Wow man, wow. Smh, some people nowadays. The man's without an alt, and he has no room to be irritated? Fuck it, it's not my business, because I'm not a DC customer, and I never will be. Honestly, your attitude is fucked up. I'm glad the OP is getting his situation worked out, and good luck to your business. He has his alternators, and bracket, do not respond in this thread as it is between the original porter and DC Power.1 point

If this thread does not Concern you please stay out of it...Thanks.... This thread is not to bash any one,or start a witch hunt.I just want to get what I ordered.and then lock this thread. I have to admit. I am extremely Impressed with the alts and bracket.Pictures do not do them justice. And I know that everyone hears that a lot but you will have to see them in person to believe.1 point

Zcon No Longer A ProtoType!!!!!!!!!
Also, I just want to make clear. Just because Scott(Fi and ect) OEMs for SSA does not mean they are the same as the sub his companies sells. If they was the same but cost less, why in the hell would SSA even bother investing money to sell their own brand of drivers? I mean think about it. SSA found a niche that currently didn't have many other options. A Sound Quality first but still retain higher power handling and be USA made. Not saying other companies drivers can't sound good, but most in the high power handling range, SQ isn't the first priory. As far as price, its right on point IMO. Mark or Aaron, if either have a problem with anything I posted, feel free to edit.1 point

t/s specs vs actual sound quality
Let's use an analogy. You have two engines, one a large diesel engine with massive torque in a small power band and it does not rev much. You have another engine with not so much torque, but high horsepower and the ability to rev quite high. You put both on a dyno, see the power curves and all the specs on the engine. Now you have OBJECTIVE data. You can use this data to determine what engine will best be suiited for your application. You certainly don't want the high hp, low torque engine towing a heavy load in a heavy vehicle now do you? It's the same with drivers. Given you know and understand the specs properly, you can use these to find a driver suited for your application. You can also gauge how it will perform. What you fail to understand is we are not stating you can use the parameters to judge whether or not a speaker will sound good, as that would be subjective. We are simply stating we can use these parameters to gauge how it will perform and what applications it is best suited for. Surely, you could have an ideal driver in an ideal application, with sub-par source material and therefore have a not so pleasant listening experience.1 point

t/s specs vs actual sound quality
^Pretty much agree with this and need to point a few other things out. The parameters you listed have no bearing on sound quality. At all. The parameters you need to take into consideration when trying to figure out if a driver will have low distortion are not normally published along with many car audio drivers, with the exception of Le, and in some cases Bl curve. What you really need to know if you are going to determain driver sound quality (low distortion) is a measurement of exactly that, distortion. You will want to see what type of harmonics the driver produces, non-linear behavior and Fr adnormalities. But again, most manufacturers don't publish this data, they normally just tout the features they have that combat this. Now as far as determaining sound quality from basic T/S parameters as you posted, you will be able to predict the type of response you will get (ripple, group delay, Fr, etc) based on enclosure Q and you will know when the driver should start behaving non-linearly due to linear excursion limits.... But that is about it. And the sound quality of the chosen alignment is also very subjective. In all reality, a flat alignment with minimal ripple often sounds thin to most people, even though it is probably the most accurate alignment the driver will perform in... So really, nobody can answer your question with your parameters with anything more than heresay. Oh yeah, I have probably built 300 or so enclosures, "out in the shop"1 point

The simple answer is that you are confused on the purpose of T/S parameters. But here, since you did as I asked and started a separate thread, I'll repost and respond to the post I removed from the Sundown thread. T/S parameters take care of that issue, however. A proper FR graph showing 0, 30 and 60 degree axis plots certainly does. Even then, you can approximate based on cone diameter where beaming will begin to occur and hence where you will begin to see a drop in the off-axis. That has nothing to do with the merits of the driver itself, which is what we are interested in looking at. You are, yet again, confusing separate issues. Unless those 10 people have a different listening preference than you do, and your listening preference coincides with that of the 1 person who thought they sounded bad. Then you would, in turn, think they sound bad. See the problem with giving too much merit to subjective listening impressions? That's just the tip of the iceberg, however. You'll learn infinitely more about a driver from objective information than you can from the subjective listening impressions of others. And any one individual's experience with a driver might be clouded or not representative of the true performance of the driver depending on the various factors involved. No, it's completely because of what you type and not why you type it. It's pretty obvious that you don't. Or if you do, I've yet to see it demonstrated. LOL.....nice try. Experience can tell you what you might personally like and dislike. Your experience won't tell me anything about the driver itself, however. Which is where objective measurements become useful. Experience also won't tell you why you are experiencing what you are experiencing. Objective measurements again become very useful. But if you have a problem with a theory.....by all means, try to prove it wrong. I think you have a great future in acoustics if you can overturn some of the long-standing theories and mathematics. Einstein managed to overturn Newton a century ago regarding the structure of space and time and changed our entire perspective on reality......I suppose now it's your turn to put the world on it's head with the grand knowledge you've garnered from all of this experience you have.1 point

Zcon No Longer A ProtoType!!!!!!!!!
WTF does the Xcon have to do with this topic. Did you read the title? Lets just chalk it up to poor reading comprehension on your part and move on. If you are telling me you have owned, herd, or even seen the Zcon, I call BS on that. You act mad that SSA is bringing another badass sub into an already impressive line up. Why do you care? It's not nice to talk with your mouth full Bro.1 point

Zcon No Longer A ProtoType!!!!!!!!!
You are trolling for something, Do you need a hug little guy? i sure do simply put i think it will be hard for fi to make a bad sub and a quiet one at that... he dont need a hug he is a HUGGER.... Of NUTS! I mean seriously bro your not allowed to comment in regards to anything until you have had both subs in the same vehicle with the box built to specs per specific sub. I know I had my BTL and it was in the recommended enclosure and it was loud dont get me wrong and sounded GREAT! then I got my ZCON and as quoted from the movie ALADDIN " A WHOLE NEWWWWWW WORRRRRLLLLDDDDD" To have the OUTPUT and SQ in the same subwoofer is BEYOND belief! So do me a favor boss and although im sure you are holding on with one hell of a grip get off Fi NUTS! You dont even know the half of the story! Fi makes your xcon, im sure it sounded great look at my youtube, ive owned both also... so you can throw your credibility out of the way with that now. i do not currently even own a Fi HENCE THE DD AND DC SIGNATURE so if anyones nuts im huggin besides "Rusty and Jassa" then you my friend started an argument that didnt even exist I can't figure out why you even post? A good bit of the posts I see you make doesnt do anybody any good including yourself. You can't expect people not to talk about SSA subs in a SSA thread on the SSA forum. Its ok for you to have own opinion, but no need to cut down everybodies because yours isn't the same. And bringing up SSA is made by Scott isn't nothing new. Your not the only one who knows this. So stop pretending your special because you know.1 point

0 pointsthat's your current status......and validates my point exactly. Mine too. If OP's would spend a little time trying to make a thread useful then there would be no troubles, but that you can easily see if you've truly searched. This forum is about helping people not only with their question but understanding why so that they grow as a person. That requires effort on their part. please just delete my account...................................0 points

0 pointsI haven't been on this board in a while due to life. I come back and see its turned into CA.com Moderators who think they know everything and are total asshats to every other member. I give this site 6months and it will be a ghost town. Used to be a great forum, I cant believe its turned into this.... I'm pretty sure Ibans point is to show that t/s isn't the end all be all, just cause he doesnt have to put a paragraph to say yes or no doesn't mean he is wrong.0 points

-2 pointsIf that happens just get a N2 and watch it demolish that sub. idk how you would come up with that pricing but if it is so... why would you buy a lesser Fi built sub for a higher price??-2 points
