Holy Hell, I didn't realize the 390 cost so much. Why such a huge increase from the 270? It can't double to make it.

Really depends on the police officer. I've found that the older ones seem to be the cooler ones (which is backwards when you really think about it). The young bastards are the ones that think they're bad asses and can ring somebody up for some unnecessary charge. I guess the older ones just realize how people feel about officers that are just trying to meet their quota... At least that's how it is where I'm from. Could be the other way around in another part of the country. I've always respected officers, but some of them don't deserve it. I've always thought of it this way: If you're standing there chilling by the store, a cop pulls up, gets out, and throws a bag of cocaine on the ground, and arrests you, who is the judge going to believe? The noble police officer, or this punk drug dealer? Just my .02

That's what Dr. Subwoofer would do. LOL. I think you should REALLY start with a 2 way. 3 way adds too many variables. As stated above it wouldn't be hard to GREATLY exceed the capabilities of the sets you are looking at, but it as you correctly stated it will take some time in the install and tuning. As for helping select drivers, it is really necessary to understand some more about your goals, installatiion locations, aiming, size restrictions and so on. Once we understand those restrictions it will be much easier to help.

Ok Mr understanding. Being surprised at a price and complaining is two different things. A lot of just shocked at the price difference. But none the less, if somebody doesn't like the price, they don't have to buy it. I don't think nobody is really comparing to a stock alt either. I think it was more of a surprise than complaining. Even though there isn't much to complare the 390xp to, price wise. But me personally, I can do without great idle for a fairly cheaper alt. As I have a high idle settin for my truck, and I normal only listen to bass while driving.

Unplug the knob from the amp, adjust gain to where you would like it, turn knob all the way up and then plug it back in. Now you can not exceed the level at which you have set on the amplifier, you can only turn it down with the knob basically. This keeps you (or someone else) from getting a little too happy with the knob and driving your amplifier beyond the point set on the amp.
