The Double Deez are out, no porno. :\ Now I'm gonna try a pair of JBL w15GTi's. If you missed the original build feel free and check it out here. Worst build ever! This is a straight drop in replacement, so things might not work out as planned. We'll just have to see what happens. I'm not looking to get louder, just looking for a cleaner sound Lets get started with some disassembly pics. Dang these fhawkers are heavy! A little side by side action. Those JBLs are wild looking fo sho! Side by side looking down at the cones. The DD have the edge on this one with the carbon fiber dust caps. With the tall-n-narrow surrounds the DD also look bigger. I ran out of daylight before I could get them wired up but here is a teaser shot of the finished product. Muahahahahahah! On a side note here is a pic of a little something I picked up to maintain the batteries. I'm probably gonna have to get a second charger, because one to charge and maintain 8 batteries is going to take forever. Going with a second charger will also require me to modify the battery bank wiring. I need to figure a way to split the bank to a pair banks, one for each charger. Any recommendations? Discuss.
  2. you shouldn't rely on the clipping light to know when to turn things down. i dont see the point to using the dmm to set gains either. why not learn to set them by ear?
  3. If I am so sad, why don't you air the truth about why the new owners even have to deal with your "oops" tiles. As for the thought to me, I could give a shit less. I just feel bad for the guys you ripped off selling your business away to. Flat out unconscionable. Only thing predictable here is you will lie, cheat and do whatever to make a buck, but obviously you already know that and now will run away. You don't have the balls to truly have this discussion, but instead want to just flop by and call names out and pretend you are above the messes you make. If you do, come on, prove me wrong. That is all I've ever asked for but you've never once even come close to obliging the request because you know you'll just get exposed.
  4. You'd need 6 channels of amplification for a 3-way, or two hot chicks.
  5. you'd run the front (tweeters) on chan 1 and 2 you'd run the rear (woofer for 2way) on chan 3 and 4 For 3 way, you'd run your tweeters again on front channel. For the other woofer and mid in the door, you would have to Y-split the rear channel So you'd have 2 lefts and 2 rights. If using the 100.4 for both woofers.. You'd run 1 left and 1 right from rear to chan 1 and 2 You'd run the other left and right from rear to chan 3 and 4 You could also daisy chain the rear channel amps(if using 2 amps instead of 1 for the woofer and mid)
  6. and perhaps ask these questions BEFORE you buy......... when your at this point in car audio just throwing things in boxs, wont work for you. and honestly i think you need half your order. and the nightshade is a pretty serious sub.. belive me i know. the SA may be better off for you . at this point.. you dont need HUGE subs and HUGE power to get a LOW sound as you dispribed. at this point it looks like you have bitten off WAY more then you can chew.
  7. Maybe a sore subject with you, but I always enjoy M5's posts. If you really read his posts he always posts responces that make you think but only if you don't get your panties in a wad because he did not just come out and give the answer. I do my best to read his responces to different threads to promote my thinking. There are always many varibles that can help/hinder an install. One thing that he posted was using a common chamber. Why would he say that in your case?? When I read that my thought went to the idea that building 2 enclosures in your vehicle that are of equal size might be difficult, hence using a common chamber. (thought process in motion). Most of the time thinking can put you ahead of the next guy. Exactly why I feel M5 promotes responces to make members think. Good luck with your build!! Hope I didn't "F" that up....
  8. you dont have a ford! I have a friend who does. If he wanted one I could help him out.
  9. You apparently did not try to make them sound good, because they can. L7's???? lol no sir they do not. thats the onl reason i got rid of mine.... it got damn loud and dirty low BUT the SQ was SHITTY big time. i have heard numerous l7 set-ups in many different vehicles and i have yet to hear on with good SQ. now the cvx, thats a different story. they have good sq and spl. They are the exact same motor... ya but the cvx is round..... do u see square sound waves??? the l7 is louder from more cone area IMO
