  1. Amp rack in the process. Using bolts and tnuts. Fitted in. Will have more wire once I get my 4 pairs of duals from project db. Upgraded the mids. Hertz ml165 going to build some pods in the doors for them. tomorrow hopefully Got new subs ordered. Really excited about what I'm getting and have high hopes. Will update when I recieve them.
  2. This may be a build log so no sense making multible threads. I am itching to do something different and go bigger. For those that dont know, I currently have a 15in Q on a SAZ1500v.2 in a box I designed and built that is a rear center console in my truck. It hammers the lows and the output is simply amazing for only one 15 here is my truck Here is the current full list Power and wiring Big 3 done and all 1/0 KNU OFC 2 Optima Red tops, gonna add a 3rd *Monster Cable... Slim battery terminals Stock alt (for now if it holds voltage up) *Tsunami main fuse holder up front and distribution fuse box for back. *Kicker ground block *KNU 10 gauge speaker wire for sub, 16 gauge for speakers RF rca's, etc Head Unit Alpine IVA-W200 NVE-N872A KCA-100BT Sub, box and amp *one 15in FI Q, cooling option and extra spider *3.65cu ported console box tuned to 29hz *Sundown SAZ 1500D v.2 Speakers and amp Rockford T-2652s Components up front Alpine Type R 5x7 rears Alpine PDX 4.150 (love this amp) Here is the current box 3.65 tuned at 29hz. Here is my current amp setup install and space to work with (maybe) Now here is what I am thinking so chime in with your suggestions as nothing is set in stone yet. Switching out the Q and buying a FI SP4 15 to go in my current box and either add another 1500v.2 or just buy a 3000d or something similar. I am not sure how much of an increase in output I will gain but the SP4 looks like it would work great with my current box and tuning. OR go big with alot of cone area. I have sorta been itching to take both rear seats out and doing two 18in SSD's in about 16 cu ft tuned to maybe 32 and running those both off of the 1500v.2. If down the road I want more output than that (I cant imagine so) I could just get a larger amp. I am not totally against other subs but I have been very impressed with my current FI so I dont hink I could go wrong there. Maybe some ICON 18's? If I do 18's I will add a second set of Components up front. Goals are low, loud, clear. Music is Rap and Rock
  3. http://meniscusaudio.com/images/CSS-FR125-data-v3s.pdf This are specs for my full range I went the BIB route with. Old pic from my dorm
  4. No we do not sell the b-stock by the piece. However I believe I have four sheets of the b-stock Damp Ken sent me (I've sent most of it out as samples), so if you want PM me your addy and I'll get it sent out.
  5. New H/U in and everything sounds awesome... The Leviathan is a great amp. He got the bass bug now, I am building a box for a Mayhem 15 for his 4-runner. Power is Cresendo 3500... Stay tuned..
  6. Here is those gut pics of the OPTI500X2 you guys kept raving about-
  7. Thanks Finished photos and a small video

  16. yes i am a beast, and shes a little ball of fire. but it works out. has for years now.
  17. I have to laugh at the difference in sizes between the two of you, but you look great together. A very happy couple. This is nice to see.
  18. I blame SSA for this! Broken roof supports. Damn those XCON's are monsters!
  19. My Front stage amps came in Friday. Here is my tweeter amp- The tweeter amp does not do 2000w, lol. After careful reading, this amp is rated at 100w x 2 @4ohm. So, still a little beefy for it's potential but doable in my application. My other amp that is going to power my 4 8s- This amp will power my 8s with 750w x 2 of power.
  20. Got the Mechman 270 installed and also the Crunch 3k. Its much much louder with this amp and the alt is very good at holding the volts were I want. I still have 2 XS D3400's coming to go under the hood to replace the Optima red tops. Here are some 95% done pics. Only thing left to do is put in the leather beauty panels on the box. But overall I am very happy with how everything turned out.
  21. How about you read this or just even take a glance at the chart and that is how people know how much neo has gone up. If you bought that sub only a year ago it would have still cost nearly double the price for the magnet only 2 months later and this does not even show the continual price increases that are happening. If you read this article it basically explains exactly what you are after. It even talks about how companies were eating costs for a while as they tried to figure out what to do which is what Nick explained Fi was doing also so just get use to the price increase as it will not be going down any time soon. http://reefbuilders.com/2011/07/09/neodymium-prices-magnets/
  22. Go fuck yourself. Don't like it don't buy it. Nobody owes you an explanation
  23. Also, To the "You need to sell at OEM prices" argument. Absolutely not. OEM work does not involve anywhere near as much work as the Fi product line does. OEM clients buy hundreds of speakers at a time and they are all the same which makes it easy to build and do. Margins are VERY VERY VERY slim doing OEM work in the USA so you have to sell hundreds and hundreds of them in order to make a dollar.. I don't know about you, but I don't think you would like to bust your ass for 10 hours a day and walk home with 50 bucks in your pocket. That doesn't exactly pay the bills and earn you a living.
  24. Changed my front stage amps to following- Lanzar Opti500x2 and Lanzar MXA234. The opti will power 4 8s (1500w amp) and the MXA will power 1 set of tweeters. I got both of my processors in, just haven't taken pics of them yet. Here is more progress- This piece may make no sense right now.. but it's precisely drilled n tapped in certain places all over that aluminum to anchor the rear of the wall.. EVERYWHERE... It will be quite a while before you see that pic as that will be the end of the wall but here is the pic-
  25. Hello and Here are MY answers for the questions you have asked and are IMO. My first question is how many fuses should I run throughout setup? No fuse from batt to batt, you can if you'd like for extra safety, Also, if not already, I would recommend matching batteries. You will then want to fuse from batt to amp(s). If you are going to use a D-block, you want to fuse both leads from DB that Distrubute to the amp(s). So that will be 3 fuses in my setup. should I run this 18" from the battery {front duralast, or trunk yellow top}, or should I run a 200amp ANL at each battery? answered above distribution block, should this be fused? Answered above If so how big of a fuse for the AB output, how big for the 4 channel output? Check for manufactures specs Should the capacitor be fused also? Remove Cap Should I upgrade the big 3 to 1/0 gauged as well? yes The wire I am looking to buy is http://www.wireandsu...0-fslash-01.htm , will this do or should I step up to http://www.wireandsu...0-fslash-01.htm ? I would recommend visiting weldingsupply.com, if your on a budget, I would ebay any 0gauge wire kit. High output Alt- Is 200amp enough or should I go bigger? For your equipment, yes, if you are going to upgrade your system in the future, I would recommend buying the most of what you can afford. Take a look at mechman/dc-alt(not a fan)/singer alternator/ohio generators Power/Ground Wire weldingsupply.com (search "cable") Fuses I have always like the fuses that come with AudioPipe equipment Wire Connectors Take a few looks at this thread Distribution Block Darvex.com has some nice ones Hopes that helps man. LMK if you have any other questions
  26. Ok, i promised you all pics today so here they are.. I was hoping to get NEW pics just from today but I have to recut 2 big pieces and waste more wood because i wanted the absolute maximum size possible for these pieces.. Also, waiting for some bracing to dry so I can install the new pieces tomorrow hopefully so no new pics were taken today. All of the following pics were done this past week. My new air Struts- And this is where I air it up at- This part of the floor is Resined to prepare to anchor the battery rack down- This last picture is interesting- I ran 2 4/0 cables up inside the car where a grommet USED TO BE! The cables are so stiff, it RIPPED the grommet in half! Just tore it in half. I noticed I couldnt replace the grommet because it would happen again.. but i can't leave it like that with no grommet because the floor is digging into the wire jacket and can short it out eventually so i had to do something. I went and got some 1.5" ID PVC from some spare runs i had layin around. I cut a 4" long pipe and slit it open down the middle so i could wrap the pvc around the cable since it was already ran. I then got some duct tape and wrapped the pvc up real tight so it couldnt open back up. I then installed chemicalweatherproof Zip ties directly below and above the PVC pipe on inside and outside of car. At this point, the pvc is pushed back through the hole sticking half way in and out. I then wrapped the zip ties up in plenty of duct tape as well. I then zip tied both 4/0 cables separately approx 12" inside the vehicle from the hole in the floor to ensure they nor the PVC pipe could ever move. The PVC will fully protect them from shorting out due to sharp edges that would have happened if not done. I STRONGLY suggest for those using this 4/0 SGX cable to do the same if you need to bend this cable up into the vehicle at a decently sharp angle(45degree or more).
  27. on to the BOXXX lol going to be galssing the inside with resin and fiberglass mat soon for now there going in my ol box
  28. So a minor update. Working on an amp wall for the 2 bc5500's Mostly today was just doing test fitting to see if this was gonna work. Only had those 2 sheets of mdf laying around so I'm gonna have to glue them together. Plan is to put ccf between the wall and box, then between the amps and wall. With rubber washers to try to absorb as much vibration as possible. can't wait to have both these in.
  29. It was very nice, keeping the box just so I can go back to it when I get tired of the 18's A Gcon will go back in more than likely.
  30. So got my hands on the system today. Was a setting issue... Sounds great now...
  31. My new toy that showed up today. Pioneer deh-80prs
  32. I might. All depends on if I am picking my brother up in Tampa or not. J
