Place volt meter somewhere descrete, like in armrest or something. Do big three, and just monitor you voltage, or, if you don't want to install that, then just monitor with a DMM. If the voltage is somewhere you feel uncomfortable, then start adding things, such as an extra battery. But I would advise you to just see where your at now, before you have to spend money.

your SSF is way too low... way too low.

For the money they are very hard to beat for running passive.

They will sound good on that amp!! I had mine on 125rms they took every bit of it

That is some great news! So what was better about these vs the type r's? Louder? More midbass? Better SQ overall? You had them amped correct? I felt with the proper amp the SQ was better.

Sounds like you should get your money back. Make sure you made it public on the forum you bought from him so that he doesn't turn around and say you didn't pay or something.

I have ran those IA components and have used the best alpine type r. The IA's are the way to go for the money.

where is your SSF set.... ........ and whats your voltage been looking like, where are setting on your head unit, how high is your gain.... altho the torn burned leads are normally from too much power..... i think.it can be caused from clipping.... alot of people dont believe that... but i do..... i have seen it, and clipping causes heat paired with high power, can snap them mixed with a improperly set SSF, can be a VERY deadly combo. IMO!!! ohmyimhigh.

Did they actually burn, or tear apart? Makes a difference if you were thermally or mechanically overpowering them.

Too much power probably, If you're running a cheap korean amplifier that can be an issue too which can lead to tinsels burning up

Basically it is a box that wires to your factory steering controls. Then that connects to a small infrared sensor. You program the box with the headunit remote much like a tv programmable remote. Then you mount the sensor pointed towards the head unit. It is very small, about the size of an LED. Typically you can drill a small hole in the dome light lens and mount it in there. You can also mount it under the lip of the console lid but often if you have a drink sitting there it can block it. I can't remember the brand but our local shop sells the whole setup for around $60. You could probably find it online for cheaper. I'll find the name if you are interested.

Response graphs of the mid (with off axis) and the tweeter -- the thick vertical line represents the crossover frequency. As you can see it is very appropriate on this set to get a nice response from both drivers : We will measure them in my car too once the new mid arrives.

TEAM Eye Aye Kay! Ok guys, let's get the weekend planned right now so iwe know what to do, where to go, etc... I am leaving Louisville and going up to Indy Friday. Where am i going? I am booking a hotel for Friday and Saturday at the Ramada Limited. As far as i know.. i guess i'll just drive up to my Hotel and surf SMD some until i get pissed off.. then probably watch the Limited cable on tv for about 3 minutes.. then walk outside, stare at my car for a while just begging to be turned on.. then walk back in the room.. Take a db shit, then call David about 9 times until I convince him to come down.. then probably stalk Casey for a while until I tell him i'm behind him... Then probably call Chop and meetup with him somewhere.. Then say somethin off the wall to Chuck for about 10minutes so he gets mindfucked that night.. Then probably show my install to Senchez and his family and after i leave have them talk about how crazy i am.. Then that's about it for Friday. So, besides that, do we have any plans for Friday?

yeah sad to see Jacob fuller promote a crappy product. Especially from a kid that trash talked sundown publicly. Jacob used to recommend Peel N Seal as an effective sound deadener. Just because he owns Sundown doesn't mean he knows or understands anything about sound deadener. The owner of AT has a history of dishonesty and demonstrated idiocy. Don't know why people are surprised when his product fails to perform any better than his character & behavior would indicate. I would never use nor recommend the product.
