  1. wtf did i just read? why, and in what?
  2. I sincerely dislike that website and it's owner for the simple fact he literally steals, direct copy-n-pastes, entire write-ups and information without any reference or credit to the source. In fact several of the pages have his copyright at the bottom, when he copy-n-pasted the information from somewhere else.
  3. Started side-tracking a thread with Mr. Bob, so I'm dragging it back over here. It's been a good many years since I got the parts and built it so I don't remember the specifics, but basically a high compression N/A 383. Only was able to get it to the track once last year. Pep Boys Z-rated tires from 2002, mail-order tune, stock shifter, stock suspension, "granny shifted" etc., ran a 12.8 @ 114 MPH. Hoping with a couple small changes, like oh, traction, a tune, I can get it to dip into the 11s. Couple pics. No exciting videos, sorry. But, at least you can see it runs now...LOL
  4. Thanks Steve for keeping us interested. I know that I'm not the only who sees this thread at the top and opens it looking for some woofer porn.
  5. Even a shit ton of caps don't work. Mark Fukuda experimented with them back in the early 90's. back then there weren't batteries like today so he had 6 huge custom battery cells custom built to reduce resistance versus multiole batteries. He then added something like 150 10 farad caps ( cant recall the exact number) and lost db's versus the cells alone.
  6. 1 point
That's more than likely not the amp's fault.
  7. I've seen white flakes 4 times already. Northern MN got 12" at one point. I'm sure as fuck hoping we get dumped on. I'd like all of our snow and ALL of Indiana's as well. That solves two problems.
  8. 1 point
Sell them both and buy a real amp.
  9. Perhaps what tirefryr was trying to say is. No way, you are in way over your head. Absolutely terrible idea.
  10. He was talking about teying to make this fit at one point.
  11. I was thinkin that when he said they were prototypes lol. Guess we'll find out soon.
  12. im thinking its quentins prototype new subs.
  13. probably some DC LVL 6s, DDZ's, or Fi BTL N3s
  14. Soft materials do absorb sound, but with carpet it won't be anywhere near enough to hear let alone measure. Maybe a tenth of a percent of a decibel. Lowering dBs via carpeting is pretty unrealistic. Stained wood will still absorb water and not necessarily last long. While it does off more protection, it's hardly something to worry about in car audio unless your enclosure is continually exposed to the elements.
  15. Let's keep it on topic guys, or I'll have to start talking about my Corral and TurboMustang days too.
  16. Very accurate...... from everything I have researched. I will find out November 18th when the first Meca meet is. I will bring my meter and compare it that same day. Here is a thread on **** asking the same.... I am really impressed with it. A great testing device for sure. For the money you cant go wrong. And Shizzon has excellent CS. http://www.****/forum/spl-labs/134507-spl-lab-meter-accurate.html
  17. I'll take which ever one is given to me, if I am spending my money it's going to Crescendo
  18. No one wants to PM another person concerning something you said.
  19. my other sub is supposed to ship today. So hopefully it wont be long, anyway, here couple pics of where im at now. The blue suede was just put on so when I do my trim panel on the front in black suede, you will see the blue logo im cutting out. brace on port was temp til i had sides on good gotta touch up paint also in port and the one that is here
  20. From testing , if you do 50% coverage instead of 25% coverage, it will be at most 3db's better. If you do 100% coverage instead of 25% coverage, it wil only help for at most 5db's. But in a lot of cases 25% coverage is enough, if you want to have less sound get in the car you have to use soundbarriers. Alpha damp is better then damplifier pro because alpha damp has a thicker layer of metal then damplifier. It's lighter but much stronger damplifier pro is already quite solid, but alpha damp feels almost twice as solid. I don't know anything about SDS as i have never used those products. But even second skin damplifier is already a lot stiffer then the best dynamat. Someone said SS is overpriced, although in my opinion their price is very competitive. The quality is great at a decent price.(but i live in Europe so prices are different, if i could buy everything at the price you guys have in the US i could buy a lot more things.)
