  2. Im not a big vid guy... but hope yall like!!
  3. Earlier this year I decided to purchase a Zed Leviathan. Having owned many of Zed Audio built amplifiers in the past, purchasing a new one was a no brainer. When I received the package from UPS, it was wrapped in heavy cardboard paper. Upon removing the paper, I found a plain white box. Opening the box everything was arranged nice and neatly inside. The amplifier was contained in plastic and protected by foam padding. Along with the amplifier comes the product manual on CD (most economical way since the manual is 70+ pages long) and a small bag containing allen wrenches, mounting feet, and screws. Taking the amplifier out of the plastic, its design is simplistic yet stunning. A Plexiglas cover on top allows view into the components of the amplifier. Everything on the amplifier is arranged nicely. Power, ground, REM, and speaker terminals are all on one side. On the other are all the RCA’s, crossover, and filter settings. Installation was easy and connecting everything went smoothly. The first few times I listened to music with the Leviathan, it would turn off during “dead time” in music and then take a second to turn back on. I would miss the beginning of music or if there was pause in the track it would shut off. This was frustrating at first but reading through the manual, it comes from the factory with an auto turn on setting. This can be changed to manual by removing the cover and simply moving a jumper. All the instructions to complete this are located in the manual. The Leviathan exceeded my expectations in the listening area. I listen to all types of music and it does great with all of them. Being a class D amplifier, it does not have any of the high frequency noise or harshness like other class D amplifiers do. From the Zed Audio Site: Specifications Rated power is 190 watts x 6 into 4 ohm or 300w x 6 into 2 ohm. Bridged power is 380w x 3 into 8 ohm or 600w x 3 into 4 ohm. The 3 pairs of channels are independently bridgeable. Two, four or six input configuration. Channels 1+2 feature a 24dB per octave Linkwitz Riley High crossover. Channels 1+2 can run in FLAT mode (Pre-amplifiers completely bypassed), High Pass or Low Pass from channels 5+6. Channels 3+4 feature 24dB per octave Linkwitz Riley High and Low Pass crossovers. Channels 3+4 can run in FLAT mode (Pre-amplifiers completely bypassed), High Pass, Low Pass or Bandpass or Low Pass from channels 5+6. . Channels 5+6 feature feature 24dB per octave Linkwitz Riley High and Low Pass crossovers. Channels 5+6 can run in FLAT mode (Pre-amplifiers completely bypassed), High Pass, Low Pass or Bandpass. The High Pass crossover doubles as a subsonic filter as it is able to respond down to 10Hz. [*]LEVIATHAN Is well suited to running a multitude of different systems from simple 4 satellite/sub woofer type to tri and quad amped systems. Level controls accommodate input levels up to 8.6v RMS. Pre-amplifiers utilize a fully isolated power supply for zero ground loops. Pre-amplifiers drive the main amplifiers in a fully balanced mode. Class D amplifiers utilize high-speed high current low gate charge MOSFETs. Fully regulated power supply delivers power independent of battery voltage. There are a total of seventeen regulated power supplies. The power supply utilizes twelve 110 amp MOSFETs in a source follower configuration for maximum bandwidth. Low ESR 105°C capacitors are used in the power supply. Very high efficiency owing to the smart power supply. Tiffany RCA's with Teflon inserts are used for ultimate quality and reliability. 4. Beat on it. If rattles or resonates than apply to that area. If it don't resonate and you only need to stop road noise then u need MLV.
  5. From what I understand, only meca requires fusing as of right now. Dbdrag, iasca, usaci... all I hear from people is- u run fuses?
  6. as i read johns post it made me think of fuses.. I have like 1 fuse block and dont know if fusing is required for all runs or not, might want to look into that.
  7. Shitty, I have around 60ft of 4/0 for sale that you could of gotten for real cheap/
  8. wire came in lastnight got some pics today the wire in the middle is the 8 runs i already had to go into the amp.... the wire on the left is the stuff i just got lastnight so i need to cut it and then solder on the lugs.. heres what the back is looking like... got some work to do once its back together lol... i can say that no-ox stuff is working on the copper buss bars... its just very messy..
  9. My current phone, with supposedly a decent processor, cannot keep up with what I need. Bogs down, locks up, and gets very slow even during texting at the gym while listening to music. Weird. You must have a bunch of stuff open at once. My basic RAZR m works fine with 6 chrome tabs open, pdf viewer, texting, and Pandora all at once. It should be noted that the RAM management of Android is vastly different than your typical computer. Having 6 tabs "open" really isn't so. Android actively monitors RAM and shuts things down (or removes the ability to quickly recall something you haven't used in a while) as needed. For instance. If you have 6 chrome tabs open it may save the pages into RAM for fast flipping between them. However, as you begin to use other programs Android will likely save some sort of "screenshot" but dump the what is needed to interact with it to free up RAM. The freed RAM will then be used to remember what page you left the new programs on or something else useful. Therefore, when you come back to Chrome it will show that "screenshot" quickly before re-loading the page entirely. It's really a genius system, but took a while to perfect. Apple, on the other hand would just pause a program when you navigate away form it. Android allocates ~10% of resources to continue to process "background apps" and gives priority to most recently used programs. On your computer it process each screen as if it is the foreground program being used, Android does not. All that to say, that your Razr M does handle all of that, with ease, but its not as revealing to the performance of your device like it would be on a PC. Android has made massive improvements to RAM management and performance increase has also come from sheer increases in phone "horsepower". Theoretically, it should matter how much you have running, as Android should be able to strip away the lower priority to keep your experience smooth. The older phones did a terrible job of that. Since then they have made improvements to the system to do a better job of this while maintaining multitasking.
  10. Those PG Elite amps are nice, dont know if I want them or the new Sundown amps. You got the best of both worlds right now
  11. I just realized that really was in a Walmart parking lot LMAO!
  12. I would be pissed if I was the other guy.
  13. Good shit! Your turn TIM!
  14. haha yea I know right, still waiting for an update from you O.o
  15. Yay an update! Nice hairtrick hehe
  16. Long time no see. As of late, I have been concentrating on getting these stupid credit cards payed off lol. And since the zcon still puts a smile on my face, I have been able to stay content. Even when I step out of a 157 vehicle, I get back in mine and say, wow, I love you zcon. lol. Just recently found out that I am able to do a very small hair trick. Which puts a smile on my face, knowing there is still more to come from this zcon knowing that it is handicaped by this too large enclosure that was designed for an AQ1200 as for power. Anyway, just wanted to offer a little update.
  17. Thanks Rick. It works and I hope it helps Aaron. J

  19. Wouldn't really say there's no such thing as under powering because you can blatantly under power for example putting a sub that can handle say 2000 rms on an amp that only pushes say 500 rms. My XCONs will be getting 650 RMS when I'm done. I had a single XCON on 600 and it was very loud.
  20. Wouldn't really say there's no such thing as under powering because you can blatantly under power for example putting a sub that can handle say 2000 rms on an amp that only pushes say 500 rms. Also I was talking about a difference within the speakers not so much the amp. Nothing wrong with putting 500 watts to a 2000 watt sub, you just aren't going to get full potential out of it. You wouldn't hurt it at all.
  21. Just checked it out, pretty sweet prices!!
  22. Got the triple inputs just waiting for more 4/0 cable and lugs to come in.
  23. Hello there! If you clicked this thread it is because you are considering making a thread asking about a box design! (Or you are wondering, what's this thread about?) Well I am here today to help you and make your box designing dreams become a reality! Follow these 4 easy steps to correctly pose the question "Is this a good design for a box?" By following these steps other members will be able to better assist you in your goals! STEP 1 (Research): Research! Hop on Google and find your manufactures recommendations for the enclosure. Go up in the search bar of this fine forum and search! You will be surprised to find that someone has probably already asked "How good is sub xxx tuned to 34 hz?" And whats awesome is if you do some snooping you can see if they made a build thread, and then find out how well their plan turned out! You can even PM the person and get their opinions on how it turned out! that's the best part of an online community. STEP 2 (Answer "The List"): Check out this cool list below! These are the type of questions that people are going to ask about your box design goals when you make a thread! So have them ready up front! Copy and paste this list to your new thread and fill in the blanks! If you are not sure on an answer simply put a question mark (" ? ") in that space! That way members will be able to provide the best answers for your questions! (See something I should add? PM Me please!) The list: Vehicle : Location in the vehicle: Space available (Length x Width x Height): Subwoofer make and model: Subwoofer Size: Number of Subwoofers: Type of Port (Kerfed, Slot, Aero, etc.): What type of music do you like?: Is your goal SPL or Everyday Music?: Tuning Freq (Hz): Volume : Questions: STEP 3 (Make a good thread title): Now that you have your list filled out go ahead and make a thread, but I strongly encourage you to put as much info about your design in the thread title. This is a VERY IMPORTANT step! By putting information about the thread you are making in the thread title someone will be able to much more easily search for your thread! And not only that more people are likely to respond to your thread as they will be like: "Oh an Fi BTL, I had one of those, I''m gonna help this dude out!" Here is my recommendation for a format of your thread title: Recommended Thread Title: Design Questions for : (Subwoofer Size) (Subwoofer Manufacturer) (Subwoofer Series) in (Cubic Volume) (@Tuning Freq) Enclosure Here is a sample using the above format: "Design Questions for 12" Fi BTL in 2.5 Cubic Ft @ 34 Hz Enclosure" Trust me, if you take the time to have a good thread title, it will attract much more interest and help! Again, if you don't know the freq you want to use or any other part of the tile just leave it out! For love of all that is holy DO NOT make a thread title "Box help" Thread titles like that are the devil! STEP 4 (Do more research!): As the answers start rolling in keep researching! There are plenty of useful tools out their for designing! Part of the fun of this whole hobby is learning how to do things! Then you can impress your friends and make boxes for others! LEARN LEARN LEARN! These videos are just a sample of what you can find on youtube that may help! I hope you enjoyed this thread! With these steps you are on your way to getting accurate answers to your questions from the members of this forum! And not only that you are bettering the forum by allowing information to be more easily found! Take care and stay loud!
  24. got a good deal on some triple inputs for my 16K... paid $130 shipped for 2 sets... the guy had 2 sets of copper so i went ahead and bought both for when i get a 2nd 16K gonna fully charge my batt bank and install these and should see a 159+db
  25. Just some pictures from Finals. First pic of my earnings for my first year. Would have been a lot more if I had not changed classes. I will be at MECA finals tomar. Somebody kept me in bed today lol Here is the HUGE TS sub lol Just looks huge! The new RE xXx looks just as big with less motor. From the top! lol Steve's car Chop, me, Chuck Rest are group pics
  26. Yesterday was a great day! Some was bad, some was good lol Rain and cold in the A.M., then sunny and hot AF in the afternoon. Then it got dark SUPER early, and then got cold....FAST lol. I came out with 3 trophies yesterday. A 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place. I am very happy with my scores though. To all I've came behind, had more cone area. Not sure for power, but nonetheless, I did have a daily oriented enclosure, at least this time, with the help of shizzzon, I had some tuning. I always seem to do my best when seans around I come 2nd and 3rd to a state finals winner, with a very nice setup. This was in DB Drab. I did not compete in MECA except for the Ground Pounder event. As I don't have any fuses in at the moment lol. Kind of off note, I REALLY like DB Drag. Its a lot more funner? in my opinion. Especially the DB Drag. Any who, here are the results. Again, I am VERY please. Next up is a more appropiate enclosure utilizing Adrian_D's aero's. When me and Swift did my current enclosure, we were not expecting to use double rms. Next enclosure will defiantely be on the smaller side. 145.3 Sealed on the dash at 39hz 146.3 Driver door open on the dash at 45hz 47.8 in the kick, door open at 45hz I'm sorry for the big font, but I am absolutely stoked that I did a 47.8. This was after about 20 mins of testing the previous scores, checking for peak freq. So, with new box, I have no doubt I can reach a 50 with this single 15" on 5500watts. Then I'm guessing a 52-53 ish with 11k. Here are some photos of Adrian_D's aeros that showed up the DAY of the event All these pictures were taking with my ipod as I left the phone at home I haven't been feeling so well as of late, so I bought some of this stuff to hopefully help. And thats pretty much it. One last thing, So my 2-way active has took a dump on me the night I installed it, I could have sworn everything was fine. Well now, it seems channel one has gone out, and I am hearing this quiet periodic "crackling" noise, either from the tweets or mids. I'm pretty sure its the tweets. But, I was so fustrated with it, I myself have not looked into it much. Prob gna have to send it in to ZED. But until the next update, thanks for looking!

OKay, we will not be sending PMs or handing out warnings. Everyone here is an adult, everyone can read and follow the rules. We don't have time to clean stuff up, so play nice and follow the rules. If your thread gets closed, don't complain. When you are ready to follow the rules, PM a moderator and it will be re-opened so you can fix it. That simple. No pictures, no thread. No price, no thread. Multiple items, put them in one thread or we will do it for you and it will be a jumbled mess. NO, "I forgot" or "I'll post pics later," etc. . .
  28. No updates as of yet... Decided id show you guys what i was into before car audio... Heres when i bought the car at 15. after about 2 years i blew that motor... shot a rod out the front of the block...so got another motor for cheap.. sadly after about 2 years i spun a bearing in that motor...decided it was time to build up a motor.... the block turned out fine just the crank, bearing, and rod got messed up.... found a good stock crank for cheap... bought acl race bearings... eagle rods...srp pistons...arp headstuds...endyn oil pump...the only part that wasnt built up was the head....we got the head rebuilt with stock parts so it was pretty much new.... also decided to put a turbo on... garrett T3 .42/48...little guy lol Switched out turbos...went with a Holset HX35... and this is where its at now... switched manifolds cause this one is much sexier lol and yes all the work was done myself....with the help of my dad and his friend letting me use his auto shop... right now im having issues with the radiator... it was a cheap one i bought off ebay...it doesnt like boost very much it overheats fairly quick....seen a nice mishimoto radiator built for boost so im gonna try that one out... maybe try a new shroud and fan as well...
  29. As Corey has stated, Team Street Shakers runs Incriminator subs nearly exclusively. Definitely go on youtube and check us out. The company is run with class and the service you'll receive after the sale is second to none in my opinion. I have a library of pics of all the Team SS/Incriminator Builds I have done and will try to get that info online in some way. If I don't do it myself, I might just send everything to one of the guys on the team to post or directly to Josh so he can post it. I almost never have time to do SHIT! Brandon
  30. I think the answer is pretty simple. The type of people buying our products generally aren't getting it online. The internet portion of our business is a very small percentage of our overall sales. There was a question about why more people aren't using lethals, and the answer to that is that they are. Actually, next to I series drivers, the lethal is our biggest seller, and people eat those things up! They are very reliable, we very very rarely ship recones for them, and people generally love them. I apologize for Nick and myself not riding the forums like most owners do, but quite honestly our time is mostly spent doing email, talking to customers on the phone, or catching up on dealer orders. I will do my best to get on here and do a better job at responding to questions, but if anybody needs immediate help, my email [email protected] or our office phone (256) 417-6658 is the fastest way to get the help you need. Thanks a lot guys!
  31. Lol, Chop your funny and what do you mean one out the door soon????? Hawk
  32. No big deal I understand.... Nothing like 2000 plus miles.....lol.....
