  1. Y not its good properly designed product.
  2. 1/0 aluminum is the exact same size as 1/0 copper, unless one manufacturer is lying. AWG doesn't change based on conductor material. AWG is not based on current carrying capability, it is based on cross sectional area of the conductor. This doesn't change when a different material is used. CCA is aluminum and is garbage. It is a marketing gimmick. Copper cladding on the aluminum is used for looks as there is no skin effect with DC to make the cladding worth anything.
  3. So, I've noticed recently that just about every wire company has bot OFC and CCA wire available, with OFC being the higher end line. My question is, In a car audio environment, where my power wire run will be no greater than 17 ft, is the difference in conductivity enough to make a noticeable (to me as an average consumer) difference? If not overdrawing or improperly fused? As an example: 4 awg run 60 amp fuse less than 12" from battery to amplifier that has a max current draw of 60 amps with a total length of the run being 12 ft? Amp ground at 18" on 4awg as well? Or say doing big 3 upgrade with 1/0 wire running above mentioned equipment/main power run to the back?
  4. thanks very much can't wait for it and to be the first in this area to have a ssa icon. sound quality is my only goal. car is a 91 prelude h22a engine swap. front doors have 2 6.5's 2 5.25.s a hiquphon ow11 tweeter and a mb acoustics tweeter up on the dash. this is on both doors. powered with a mcintosh mc440 bi amped crossed at 3800 hz with a audio control eqx. my plan is a sealed 4 cuft fiberglass into my truncks spare tire well. Hi man, greetings from the other side of the country! The Icons are amazing subs, I have 2 15"s in my truck and they sound awesome and get stupid loud. Id stay closer to 2.75-3 cubic feet if you are going sealed. You'll love your Icon!
  5. Yeah sounds like a new alt would be a good idea especially with the newly added stereo stuff.
  6. Didn't think so..............
  7. Are you louder then the "ok" subs?
  8. You've definitely found the best place to learn! to the forum!!
  9. ^^ No. Welding cable is not 2X as expensive as CCA.
  10. It's in the off-topic section where people can discuss their non-audio related interested.

  12. What was the ohm load the subs were wired for?
  13. some will not like my response..... but to cut right to the meat of it... at your run length and draw. get what you can afford.
  14. Close this thread it is useless.
  15. lol you mark my shit negative because your a fool? lol ok .
