  1. Sometimes people just post what's on their minds. Maybe he wants to see if people agree with his decision? I donno. It's not annoying to me. Kyle, take your negative ass post somewhere else. Not every post has to have pics or technical info.
  2. Well we look at it this way, without customers there is no Flatline, so our way of thinking is to go above and beyond to help you guys out on anything that we can.
  3. Check Project Stupid in the build logs and see what can be done by applying ideas from the theoretical rhetoric in the real world... In my simple opinion, drop-in tests are stupid simply because the box volume and tuning is not optimized. The speakers don't have identical parameters so they won't work the same in that box. Unless there's a very strict requirement to keep the box, there's no point in a drop-in test
  4. Clamp tests for burping purposes are perfectly fine as long as the meters used are accurate and all controls are measured and found to be the same. Controls are things like tone being played, sing all input voltage, power input voltage, enclosure and placement in vehicle. As long as the co trolls are the same for each transducer then you can accurately calculate results. He is using two different impedance drivers therefore one of them will be recieving double the power. Now if the amplifier was adjusted so that wattage output was the same on each driverthen there would be no problem. But that wasn't done. As far as clamp tests for rating an RMS rating on an amp no it is not physically possible with a couple of clamp and DM meters. Just because "this is all you have" don't make it right to assume its ok to do. I can't speak for anyone else here but you can look at just about any of my posts here and not find theroritical rhetoric. I work with three of the top acoustical transducer engineers in the world to ensure so.
  5. Alan, you really need to get off of M5's nuts...
  6. so a friend of my flavuis from houston was giving demos at texas heatwave.. and a check got in for a demo and this is how the rest went http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nk46K8u4EII it got over a million hits in 2 days. has made it on worldstar chive morning radio so forth this is wild... its not set up just a random demo ... BTW its loud.

I recieved my xcon 15" a week ago, and Wow! where do I begin? After obsessing over craftsmanship (simple yet eye catching) I ended up using a 3.2 cu. ft. enclosure tuned to 30hz. This beast is powered by a 1000/1 (4 ohms) and a nak for the sound source. If there's a way to describe how hard and clean this thing pounds, It's bruce lee kicking you spot on your chest with the music. This is a great subwoofer, I've heard W7's and this one takes the cake especially at its price. Enough talk here's some photos: My ride quick comparison to alpine type r 12" Boxed, carpeted, ready to thump! I would like to thank Aaron, Mark, and the rest of the people at this company for excellent customer service. It was a 2 month stretch but very well worth it for my patient ears.
  8. 30 lbs down. 35 to go.
  9. Here, use one of these turbos. lol....

I was very tempted to purchase a zcon, I even was second guessing myself for quite awhile after placing an order. I can tell you though that quickly changed after recieving the xcon. In fact after showing it to the local sound shop, the manager told me its been 15 years since hes sold a sub bigger than 12" and more than 1000w rms.
  11. It should be closed, so it won't keep coming back from the dead. Fail Thread
  12. CS is one of the biggest things that I consider before I purchase something.
  13. No. I would bitch if it won by .1 db, because it wouldn't be a win. This BS on this thread does nothing but perpetuate missinformation. This thread should have never even been started.
  14. When did all objective thinking just go out the window on here?? THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A DROP IN COMPARISON unless the drivers have identical T/S parameters and all inputs are normalized. Period. There is no argument to this.
  15. Glad to hear that.
  16. We design and can also build and ship if you require it. For an enclosure quote just fill this out.. http://dc-creations.com/enclosures.php For a design quote just fill this out.. http://dc-creations.com/blueprints.php
  17. We are tooting our own horn on this. We are the first to have quality photos of the brand new Sundown Audio X Series. Enjoy. http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/categories/sub-woofers/sundown-audio/x-series.html 10" X Series Subwoofer
  18. Basic 4th grade scientific method. If the controls in the experiment are not constant or there is no way to insure the controls are constant the the results of the testing are inconclusive. And a Termlab is not an accurate DB meter it is only consistent which is why it is used.
  19. Been thinking about grabbing a 15" XSV2, sub looks beautiful.
  20. Because there are proper ways of testing and we try to keep inaccurate testing away from here so uneducated people don't repeat what they assume to be accurate. His test could be valid and helpful for his particular vehicle and system set up but the same power wasn't even applied to the drivers. There are far better tools to figure out what driver is louder or better for a given set of variables.
  21. Unless you normalize power and enclosure alignment, you are wasting space with any type of comparison on this forum... There is no such thing as a "drop in comparison". There is a drop in evaluation of a different drivers, but you cannot compare in the same enclosure and be objective...
  22. If it's a 12 and you can't change it let me know, I might buy it so you can get the one you want.
  23. Flavius! My travel buddy and lunch date. Lol This is why you don't miss the heatwave show in Austin.
  24. Power is the least efficient way to get louder. You will notice very little difference between 600 and 1200 watts. You are not losing anywhere near 50% of your output. This is all assuming that they can't change your order which they might be able to do.
  25. Actualy, it's still uploading. He's uploading it shot in xHD 4K so that's why it's taking a little over 2yrs to finish on youtube

  27. The only reason they keep doing it is the fact that not enough of them are being shot. Seriously.

  30. Here are some pre-designed enclosures you can try and modify for your needs: http://soundsolutionsaudio.com/index.php/product-information/xcon.html
  31. What is the goal of the "drop in test"? You state you are trying to see which has the highest score, but the real question is why and what information do you plan to glean from this?
  32. How the hell are you gonna do that? if you don't have clamp meters? .. So this test is already worhtless before you begin it.. If the DD wins this one i'll take off my hat for this one. My friend will have his clamp meters We are just doing a basic test man. It's not going to be in all professional That's exactly it. If the all mighty DD wins when it has the power disadvantage we will know who is king. No..it is not a definitive answer, there is no definitive answer. It is not black and white like that..the only thing that can be said is speaker X was louder then speaker Y in this very specific install. It does not remain constant at all what so ever . Some speakers work better in some applications..for reasons that simply is a waste of time to find out.
  33. What's the point of this post? No pics, no comparisons, no facts, no testing.... Glad you're excited but your pointless post is annoying. As are all posts like this.
