We are currently working on getting new official pictures of all the new woofers, BUT I have a picture of the brand new woofer we call THE JUDGE. I have got to get some interest in it before I will post it. I know you guys hate this game but I got to play it because Nick may get mad at me for posting it. Lol.
  4. Just had to get back in a old truck. Traded my 60 Biscayne for this well done 71 C10. It's a mild 355cu and a TH400 trans. All new interior, paint is only a couple years old. I was alittle unsure of the wheels but after having it a couple days and the reaction this truck gets I think I will just lower it more and leave it alone. I really like this 70's muscle look. Out with the old In with the new Needs some sounds although the cam sounds killer in this truck. Looks like a head unit, 4 channel and components are in order.
  5. I will be offering a three year warranty on DSS drivers and I need a way to track them so a sticker with a serial number will be placed in the rebate on the rear of the motors to hide the tool mark from being turned on the lathe. The below logos are what I have been working on (be gentle it's my first time using Corel). Which one do y'all prefer? The blue will be a royal blue and the white will be brushed aluminum.
  6. that's nice, old school gaming FTW!
  7. Ok so I just finished the box! Birch was much easier to work with than mdf. Also it feels a lot lighter too. This box is 5 cubes tuned to 31hz with 80in2 of port area. On to the pics
  8. I'd pay more for less, quality power rather than cheap high powered amplifiers.
  9. Finally got a chance to do a couple things to my car today. A little while ago I purchased a YOBO FC16, its a portable Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) that runs on the actual cartridge and not roms or emulators. I had an idea about putting it in my car for a while now. Now that I have a head unit with a 6.1 inch screen with av inputs I figured why not try it out. I also thought, who the hell has a super nintendo in their car??? lol Well, now I can say I DO . Here are the pics. I am putting it inside my glove box that way I can hide the system. The unit comes with 2 bluetooth controllers shaped like the old snes controllers, a tv input, the console and a charging cable. It has a lithium battery in it so it doesn't need to be plugged in all the time. I only have one game for it now which is Super Mario All Stars, which has all the classic Marios on it. I will buy more games soon for some multiplayer action. lol To make all this happen I bought a cheap inverter that plugs in to a cigarette lighter and an extension cord. Had to pop this part off so I could run the wires to the glove box. About to plug in the AV input. You can't really see it but I was able to hide the small inverter and plug under the center console which is the part I am showing you now. Now I am going to plug everything into the YOBO FC16.. Make it look neat.. Velcro is holding it in there.. Now to hit the switch on the left side of the console to turn it on to make sure it works before I start putting everything back together lol. I ran the charger plug near my shifter/ parking break. The console tells me when the battery is low so then all I have to do is plug it in to let it charge and take it out when it's done charging. Here is a short video of it in action! CLICK THE PIC FOR THE VIDEO. I was not driving during this, it was just a little windy outside. Also, the volume was down and my damn controller's battery was dead. I had to put them on the charger. lol

I am first and foremost a VW/Merc person from day one. Was brought home from the hospital in a 1974 light blue Bug, so it's good to see another one in the "family".

Nothing crazy, but I am thinking IA comps and coxals to replace the stock speakers. Then for sub maybe another DCON all powered by Sundown. Nice !!!

  25. amen, i wish every one had a loved one do my job for a week.. then people may move out of the lane when im trying to work... not to mention gain respect for the amount of knowledge one must have to tow a car truck or 18 wheeler........ if the wrecker industry shut down for a week the world as you know it would stop.. you think traffic is bad now lol./ its a crash parts company just a change, somthing with set hours. weekends and nights off, 401 K bennies shit like that ... just a change. i have been living my life on the edge long enough....... i almost dies today as a matter of fact
  26. in the topic of " project stupid" i marked BASSmaster comment negitive by mistake can someone fix it please
  27. If wanted to amplify bass from a source that is weak or does not have an equalizer, using the bass boost could be acceptable certain old music and metal has quiet bass too, this boost would also be helpful in those situations
  28. I don't worry too much about flavor as I drink it too fast, but the natural flavors are usually fine. I always get the vegan-gemma pea protein. Very high absorption rate, affordable and mixes fairly well. Only thing is that it is very fine powder that is clumpy and can get everywhere if you don't order it with the jug/scoop.
  29. Since I'm front firing sub/port I made some side panels to block the cabin from the trunk
  30. So here are the pics I have for the 1 12" Xcon. Sexy as hell Installed in box. Made a false floor so everything would slide around Not going to make everything look that good since it will be removed within a month.
  31. Fi!!!! The x series is a 750 rms sub. Now I have 2 BL's. a 12 an 15 and love the way they sound in their boxes and their capable frequency range. Now i havent heard anybody elses before because noone knows shit about audio where im from. we have a monopoly shop and they fuck people but back to thread....... OP If money isn't as issue I would do as these guys say and run SSA or Fi.
  32. I have had great results with sound quebed amps!! The dcon is a much better choice from my experiance.
  33. If you drove it or owned it you would know why. The Saginaw 3 speed was horrible, car was full of rust. All suspension needed redone, needed new cooling system, all glass needed replaced, and the electrical needed completely ripped out. Had original drum brakes all around, no power steering that was a bear to fight in that big ass car. I can find another one down the rode, just one alittle more refined. They guy wanter a 60's style rat rod and wanted it just like I did. But after having both and throwing money at things this truck fits me better. I actually way be working a angle at a 65 Biscayne that is badass and done but we'll see. Lowered it today about 3 inched all around. much better
  34. Don't have the Zcons anymore. I'm doing a build with 2 12" Xcons. I have one now, but waiting on the other. I bought a Xcon motor from Julian on here and ordered a basket/recone from SSA. The basket/recone should be here within 3 weeks. VEHICLE: 2012 cherry red Fusion Sport AUDIO EQUIP: Sundown SA-6.5 comps Sundown SAX-125.2 2 12" SSA Xcons Sundown SAZ-2500 Stock 150a alt Stock batt Diehard Platinum 31m (rear) WeldingSupply Stinger Volt Meter Stock Radio and AudioControl LC2i BOX: Subs and port front firing sealed off from trunk. 35. I'll put in my 2 cents since this is not a specific manufacturers forum. Both drivers have close enough mechanical parameters that they would behave the same nearly the same in the same box. Both drivers have the same motor force 288.75 for the sp4 and 288 for the evil. Yes the evil has more BL due to more "L" length in coil wire. However this also increases resistance which has to be taken into account. However the Evil has a slightly higher SPL rating .2 increase. Due to the slightly better Mms weight and motor force ratio due to the 10 gram lighter moving mass. So in a world on paper the Evil would be ever so slightly louder in an enclosure where the drivers would reach xmax at 3,000 watts. However in an alignment that took 3,250 watts to reach xmax the Evil would have an ever so slightly more advantage being the sp4 could not displace as much air due to not hitting xmax. However it would not be enough to be audiblly different due to the minute difference. So as a customer in my opinion it comes down to one thing. Fi prides itself in being a DIY company. It expects its customers to be able to take the info given and help themselves in enjoying the product. Which in return allows for a less expensive product. SSA on the other hand is a dealer network company and prides itself in bring able to work hand in hand and guide the customer. This of course take time and time is money. So there comes into play the slightly higher costs. So it comes down to what type of customer you are. Are you the one that can handle the expected wait time (you are told prior to purchasing) and can use the product at a DIY'er or do you need daily updates on product status and enclosure recommendations and install help.
  36. Now that I have the 15, I'm going to put up the 12 for sale. It's a D2.
  37. Had to take off the molding and sealing rubber to make it fit lol She is beautiful!
  38. Picked up the Zcon 15 from the post office since I missed it the day before. Safety first
  39. I had my 1 Zcon 12 but since I had the room for a Zcon 15, I bought one from bigjon. He's a great guy! I designed the box to be 4.4 cubes tuned to 33hz with 80in2 of port area. I finally learned how to do use google sketchup. It won't let me download the screen shot in photobucket.
  40. I also like the idea of the Icon as Shogen mentioned. I had two ported in my 05 BMW 745i and they did very well. They were my first SSA subs.
  41. Getting the top all screwed on. Also my stepdad's demo from his dealership. That Flex is pretty sickkk. Box all painted. Everything installed in the trunk Front view
  42. So i decided on just having one Zcon and having just one crescendo bc2000. Box is 2.7 cubes tuned to 32hz. On Saturday and Sunday I busted my ass doing all this: Cut all the wood. My sister help me with it haha gave her $5. Starting the build of the box. Pretty much all I could do since it was 12 AM and I couldn't cut the holes for the baffles. Side of baffle glued and screwed. Test fit and it fit great!! The box was screwed up around the baffle which meant I couldn't re sell it, so me and my sis had a little fun lol
