  1. So I helped a buddy install an Alpine HU last night. It was the first time I worked on audio in a loooooong time. He wants to do an amp, front speaker combo. I am trying to convince him that deadening will be the best bang for his buck when doing the doors. He has about $650 for budget and I'm trying to figure out the best way to maximize the budget. Sound Deadening Based on what I see with SDS the 3M acoustic is the highest cost. I'd like to do 25% CLD, a layer of CCF and MLV, some CCF to control rattles and a little 3M acoustic (most expensive it seems) I can probably spend about $300 on deadening and leave $350 for Speakers/Amp Speakers I'm thinking that a passive component set will be easiest. His HU doesn't have Crossovers or anything Amp I'm thinking something used, and the best quality I can get with the remaining budget. He is wanting to try and get the front stage beefy enough that he won't want a sub. He doesn't have one currently and doesn't seem to be too concerned. Any tips for speakers/amps to look into?

hey guys, I promised pics of the house/garage and here they finally are. Also Built a work bench a month ago.. Now on to the car... here are some pics after the wall was ripped out. Redid the headliner and all pillars.. going for a black/grey theme. soo MUCH ROOM So i need help deciding whether I want to go back to black again... I am going to purchase coilovers this spring so either I think will go good. What do you think? As for audio, I do planning on doing a small build in here again. Once I get more funds I am thinking (2) Sundown X 12s off a Crescendo 3500. Box will be designed by RAM. What is nice is that both amps (3500, 1000.4c) AND my XS XP3000 are all in the rear well. So it will ve very convenient if we go on a trip to remove the box and have cargo room. The audio build won't start till end of February though...
  3. this guys ready for the tanks
  4. That pretty much brings me up to now. Pulled the subs out to resin, sand, resin, sand, paint, sand, paint, sand, paint, sand and paint. Also picked up 20 xs power d1600's. Going to weld up a battery rack this weekend. Also ordered 1" by 1.25" aluminum metal to make bus bars. Going to use set screws and make them nice, so no ring terminals for me Tearing the old batteries out, getting ready for 18v Resin. Sanded and more resin. 1st coat of paint.
  5. Random video from slamfest I just found lol. With the old port. And a both doors wide open hairtrick on 11 volts lol. ( Not joking ) Again, with the old port.
  6. Hairtricking Pinkie at the crescendo show last month.
  7. Wanted to ride around and check the new port out and this homeless guy came up and started talking to me. Super cool dude, and he asked for a demo...
  8. Decided to open the port up and round it over to see what happened and holly crap lol. It literally moves twice the amount of air as before. Forgot my table saw was out of order, so I had to use a jigsaw.
  9. I love this video, door open hoodie trick. Literally on 11v. The hoodie was stuck between the door and the seat for a second, then it was floating away.
  10. Ran into a little trouble. Broke the passenger side window regulator, as well as the tabs on the bottom of the window that mount to the regulator. So those had to be replaced. Also deadened the doors with murdermat while I was at it.
  11. New singer alt and external regulator for 16v side . In the meantime, it ran on 12v ( or 10 lol ) Old Singer 275 out. Meh. Who needs washer fluid? Made a little bracket and mounting plate for the regulator.
  12. That's too much work, just sell your amp and find one that does the power you want at 2 ohms. Plain and simple.
  13. Ok lol. That's it until I get home on my computer. The photobucket app sucks.
  14. You can afford two level fives, feeding them, housing them, and you can't allocate something more reasonable to the front stage?
  15. Sorry guys ... But I still find it hard to understand why people spend soo much on bass "just to get loud" and go cheap on the rest of the setup ...
  16. IT will be the Khaotic Dual 12s that they sell on this site, so I hope its good for that price.
  17. Icons are amazing subs, Ive got a set of 15"s and they sound amazing and hit hard. The enclosure has to be adequate though
  18. Would I be happy with 2 icon 12s in a khatoic enclosure in my next setup then, im sick of re buying.
  19. oh, just need to solider the leads and find a tall strong friend and reinstall
  20. one thing is for sure..... DSS is better at laying CA glue then I ... lol
