Not really true.As to the original question...No, running active really has nothing to do with whether the car is tuned for one seat or two. It's possible to tune the system in either manor (one front seat or both) with either an active or passive setup.

What amp are you running? What vehicle is it? Is it doing this just all on its own, or when you turn something on?

This is a build I did last weekend for a buddy. 3.25 cubes per chamber tuned to 32hz. Kerfed port, flush mount, 45's in corners.
