  1. Did some initial testing with the Crown amp. Unfortunatley I changed the port at the same time I switched to Minotaurs so I have no idea what direct swap gain would have been. Though I dropped tuning 4hz, sacrificed 42 square inches of port and am still up about .4dB. Geometry of the cargo area didn't allow my 5th battery on the Crown and voltage drop was severe. Minotaurs seem to run quite happily on this battery bank and have an audible improvement in sound.... I expect 8 amps vs. 1 has an edge in damping factor. One thing I really like is the ability to non-invert slave all the amps frorm one pre-amp so I can run 1 amp per coil without the trouble of trying to gain match every amp or having to dick around with strapping. Don't mind the dust on everything in the more recent pictures, I just did some work to the port and did a bunch of sanding. Baffle will be finished with something other than the black paint as soon as I think of something clever and have some time. Metered 151.9 a couple weeks ago before I smoothed out the port and played plenty of music really loud. Amps stay cool and are easy on the electrical. I have all my amps on 60A fuses and have yet to open one. I expect to get 152.0 with the port tightened up, and I expect I can find some more gains if I get ambitious. Also in here is Ra V2 feeding these amps and Leviathan under the back seat running my fronts. Also back seats fold up as normal for when I need the passanger space.
  2. II'll catch you up that way this year I'm sure. I plan on driving to several different events this year. Headed to SC this weekend.
  3. Build officially starts TOMORROW!!!!!! I have 2 more sheets of MDF waiting at the shop so altogether I have (6) sheets of MDF, (10) 2x4's, and a butt load of screws lol. Resin, wood glue, etc will be bought tomorrow. Just got off work and was in a rush lol.
  4. Well I ordered the second amp Thursday and it got here Saturday. Anybody wanting a big amp should look into Ampere. Great customer service and beast amps!! Last night me and a friend went to his work and used all the badass equipment and welded up a amp rack and this morning got everything mounted and installed. Oscoped the amps and set gains. All I can say is I made myself tap out. This shit is brutal, no matter what numbers it does. The doors are taking a full ass whoppin when I turn it up. I will meter later on and post results. Here are a few pics
  5. Not bad for your first time. Once the subs break in it will get alittle louder and lower, seal off from the trunk and I would imagine it will be around a 42 but dont get hung up on numbers. They are secondary and almost meaningless. just chase the sound your after, once you do that if it numbers high good but if not who cares.

That'd be silly.Just buy SDS. You aren't going to beat that bang for your buck. so is having 8 18s if you think about it, but people do it ;P Terrible analogy however. 8 18's has more effectiveness at creating bass than 8 15's so there is a purpose. Vibraflex not so much. Depending on your goals and how much you put on vibraflex can be more effective. I was meaning its silly because of the excessiveness of it. Like have 10 locks on your front door, sure its better then one but most people consider that a bit silly. Not sure why you negative rep'd but anyways it all depends on your point of view.

  9. I don't know if it'll fit in your car either, but it would fit in my car. I have a volvo v40. If you bought a v40 then they would fit. You should probably buy a v40 to be on the safe side.
