    Damn. https://m.facebook.com/sundownusa/
  2. Yeah , I definitely missed who said it. I thought it was the op when I replied. As for the other stuff, I've seen a few others over the years try to prove him wrong. Some finally open their minds and understand, some just ignore him, and others get mad and leave. I'm just sitting on the sideline waiting to see which way it happens in this instance.
  3. For music it won't. It will be better than the smd pos but it is pointless. Songs can be recorded more than 10db apart which gain wise is a MONSTER change. Stop reading on smd, it isn't teaching you anythingm
  4. M5 was 100% correct......A long time ago I thought I was sooooo smart saving money on cheap sound deadening. I should've listened to him and many others when they warned me. Now I have a freakin' mess on my hands ripping out this bullshit asphalt based garbage. Learned this lesson the hard way. Fealing like an idiot on this one.
  5. Thanks for the info as Im currently designing an enclosure myself. Wont look as good yours though.
  6. Basically, I was trying to keep port displacements down. At my last competition when I was running both 15's I had a net of 10 cubes & 129 sq.in. of port area. I got a final 150db with that before a mechanical failure on one coil during a demo at 20hz. Plain stupidity on my part was the only reason for the coil locking up. I couldn't get to the volume quick enough to shut things down. This single 15", during modeling I kept toying with the port size & displacements and finally settled on this.
  7. Ah, the blinking light tool is the biggest waste in car audio. The person selling it the most shady bitch ever. Only cares about his wallet. An Oscope is one million times more useful, but it is still irrelevant for "clipping". If this clipping is related to something in particular or a particular goal then that could be different. Nothing that SMD manufacturers is worth buying. Nothing.
  8. Finally my free time and the crappy weather have allowed me to work on this.
  9. It will sound worse than just running the 2 way you have. The whole benefit of having a 3 way is getting to use a single driver optimized for the great majority of the musical range without giving up midbass or top end sparkle. You will gain non of that. The two most important steps in deciding on a logical 3 way setup are 1) driver choice and 2) setting up the crossover appropriately. The 2nd one either requires some serious savvy in making passive crossovers after measuring your speakers in place or a flexible processor with the capability of providing the crossover portion electronically.
  10. Let there be light!
  11. No, maybe and yes. NEVER buy based on extra capability but instead focus on the extra capability YOU need. Ie, if you dont know what you are missing then the extta proc will not make any difference. So that being said what fo you want to improve?
