i need answers. if this site is so amazing like yall say, i need answers! do i need to bypass the stock amp? buy a new amp to replace the factory amp to the speakers? do i need new speakers? why is there static? is somethign not hooked up right? why is my bass not hitting hard, even when everything dealing with bass isall the way up? why do my speakers get so loud even before 15? i went to the store, he told my i needed to get a new amp for the speakers. he said probably MB audo i think... mb something. cuz its small and it will fit where the factory amp was. i need answers, cuz this guy wasnt helping either. i need answers soon cuz the love for my car has gone down a crap ton. i hate my car right now, and i hate driving it around

and the deck is a JVC KW-XR610 incase that helps at all

professionally installed? is that better? whatever it is that the people who own shops with the highest end audio equipment in town do. if thats professional or not, im not sure... (just overpriced) i love this deck though! looks nice and everything. i think its just the way we hooked it up. thats why i wanna get it .... whatever BanginGMC would call it, where true professionals do their thing.

ok, so i just upgraded my stock head unit to a double din non touch screen thing, JVC something. its alright. i kinda miss my other.... i miss my steering wheel controls, and i hate how my antenna goes up when the thing is on, not just when the radios on. and it sucks that my ipod would be one of the 2 it supports that you cant control from the ipod. only the head unit... but besides all that so, a few problems i might get professionally fixed tomorrow unless its a simple fix. before, i had my suboofer amp hooked up to the back speakers. i splaced into that. i know stupid, i got bitched out on another forum,which is why i have the new deck. so now, ts almost all hooked up right. the RCAs are hooked up normal this time... but it doesnt hit hard AT ALL. it kinda does... but not how i want it, and everything bass is turned up except the bass boost on the amp.... the problem i think, my car came stock with an amp to the normal speakers. so i had to get an adapter with some RCA male ends. only problem was, it came with 4, and the deck only came with 4 inputs. no room for subwoofers, the main reason i got the deck! oh no! so, my friend spliced those into the speaker wires for the deck. the ones i wasnt gonna use... do you get it? the green-+, purple-+, grey-+, and white-+...i think that was it. those were on the deck. i just hooked em up to the stock amp adapter thing. anyways, the settings on the sub amp, the input all the way up, LP freq at 80hz, and bass boost and 0. on the deck... bass all the way up, mid 0, treble is one below bass or two i forgot. subwoofer volume is all the way up, and thats at 80hz too. my problem is that for one, theres a static noise. even when the volume is off, its staticy... two, if my volume is at 0, i turn it up to 1, and its at normal listening level. goes all the way to 50. but 1 is like, too loud if i wanna talk on the phone, or even to someone in the car. its not i cant hear, its just annoying its so loud when trying to talk... and im scared to go past 15. i really dont go past 10 now. but even then, not much bass at all.theres a lil if its turned all the way to like 13-14., and thats the other problem. its like the bass isnt getting enough input, OR the normal speakers are getting too much. does any of this make sense? maybe someone here can help... if not, im gonna take it up to the shop and have them do it, and probably buy a kit to make the deck fit... its sticks out a lil too much i think. the part of the dash wont fit on right. dumb best buy didnt have any mitsubishi stuff there, or dodge, ro whatever itd be under

the holes are filling up now. should be dry tonight and ill sand it down.... and those threads... not much help. for one, i dont really know what its talking about. and also, i dont have one of those dmm things, or know anyone who does. i did what you said and turned bass boost off, and i dont feel anything after that.... so yeah. i mean, it sounds good the way it is on most songs... its just songs like that, and those low notes, it doesnt work well

all i have to do is fill em up. i mean, theyre like... small small. so i guess i can easily just fill em up. after i do that, how should i have the settings? also, i have a hole where i put the wires through to the speaker... what should i do about that? its also a small hole, just enough so the 2 wires can fit through. but there still might be a lil air coming through

I agree it's probably a deeper note than you can physically hear. Question though - does your box really have holes to let the air out? yeah cuz when i first built it and set it up, i wated a day to test it, but i guess it wasnt completely dry, and one of the sides came off,so i just put a few small small holes just to let a little out. was acutallya friends idea cuz he knows a lil more than i do. it looks dumb,but i dunno

ok... i have input, LP, and bass boost. i have input at about 3 oclock, and the other two at 6 oclock. you know what i mean? when i turn the input up, when the radio is off, the sub will buzz real loud. the louder the input is, the louder the buzz. i dont know what the LP is, and bass boost is the only one i know what is, mainly because of the name.

i dont know if its my subs suck, the amp, or the box i built.... i have a single 12" Kicker CVR, in a box with insulation, and a few small drill holes to let a lil air out, and a 600w rms infinity amp. the dry notes im talking about... like in bass, i love you,by.... basstronics?? i forgot who it is, but that really really low note. i cant hear it at all. when i had 2 12" in my back seat, i could see the subs moving like crazy, but not much sound or feeling in the car. but now its in my trunk with 1 12", which im suprised sounds the same, if not better than how it was. i havent looked to see if it flexed like crazy, but i know i cant hear it in the car. theres also... i put on, by young jeezy or whatever. i cant think of anything else at the top of my head... but is that cuz my sub/amp/ box suck? or what could it be? and also, the amp is 2 channel. since i have one speaker, should i have the positive on one channel and the negative on the other channel? or both on one?

i do want some Fi BLs... would 1 10" sound just as good or better than the 2 kickers? i finished building the box for the 2 12;s, and its a complete peice of shit. and would that infinity work with it, or would i need to upgrade that also?

so it kinda sucks? but thats it. and it says its 300. i got it for 150... 50 really cuz i had 2 other crap amps that kept burning out that it traded for it. should i look at selling that too and upgrading that, or can i get somethign decent with that?

heres what was on the bar code from the pawn shop... 1600a LB65258A NEV0004-10409 NE+ there were no numbers on the amp itself except for the 1600a and the ones above the fuses.

if i can sell the subs, maybe around 200-300ish. maybe a lil more.

but i dont know what would be better or not, thats the thing.

the only reason im asking is cuz i dont know much about systems and stuff... i know i was eventually upgrade to 2 much better 10" subs, but maybe i can make a slight upgrade to some better, but smaller stuff. i mean, i do want smaller, but i also want better. i knwo kicker isnt too great. i know theyre good and all, and everyone and theyre mom has them, and that might be another reason. everyone i know has kickers or sony. so i really dont know what i want

my bad i was in a hurry. i have an 05 mitsu eclipse spyder. so its a tiny trunk. i have a 1500 watt infinity amp. 2 channel. he was saying that for one, those other speakers had more wattage. and 2, the kickers wont sound as good in a smaller box. and im either getting a 10" or 12", not sure but this guy is apro. he said he does stuff for big comanies in dallas. which, if you dont know is a big city. we live about an hour or so away. the only reason he has a shop here is cuz its where he lives. but hes set up some thousand dollar systems and stuff. i saw him working on a niiice 350z set up a while back. its the only audio shop in the area with focal, and those real high end stuff. so this guy has tons of expierence. he said that he can make the box to where it would still hit hard even though its convertible. hmmm... is there any other info you need?? i just need the box out ofmy trunk. if i get a box built for the kickers, id have to pay 150. or 200 for ported. but i think he cant do ported with the 2 12s in my trunk, i dont remember what he said about that. but if i got one of the others, and i sold my subs now, i wont have to pay near 150, cuz of what i can get for the subs now.

so,right now i have 2 12" kicker cvrs in my back seat because the box is too big for the trunk. i went to the shop to ask ab out getting a box made, he said 150. but he also said i should get rid of the kickers and get a 10" brutus, or orion, with a custom box and itd be way better than the kickers. so should i pay 150 to keep the kickers, sell the kickers and buy a brutus 10 and custom box for a lil over 200, or an orion 10 and custom box for a lil more than the brutus? i listen to mainly more rock, but lately ive been listening to rap cuz i like the bass. but still, i listen to way more rock. so what do you think?

if thats the rms rating then ya thats fine but he didnt specify on the original watts. he was just saying 1400 and 1600.. i did state later that those are max... but ill get the number for the infinity, and ill start using rms from now on

the max on the kenwood was 600. the max on the sony was 1000. and the max on the infinity is 1600. doont know about rms. but i do know that when i listen to my music full blast, the infinity barely gets warm when the others would be really hot, or already out

theyre 2 ohm. on the other amps, the input was (left) + - (right) - +, and i bridged it using the left + and right -. but on the new amp it doesnt say left or right, and its + - + -. so i put the positive on the first +, and the other on the second -. i dunno if thats right though...

ok, i got the infinity because it looks nice, and its what my car comes factory with. but a problem.... when i turn the radio off, it has a real bassy buzz. but i turned the input level most of the way down, and the bass boost, and some other switch to the medium position. i think the buzz is from the input level but im not sure...
